OK Ladies of Tea and Wisdom. I know we haven't gotten together for a while (I am working on that for January...I promise) As you know I never stop thinking about ways to reach out and support each of you and our universal sisterhood. While on a recent trip to LA my daughter was telling me about a homeless young women she would see in the park. Often the girl would ask for food and Lauren would give her what she had. One day all Lauren had in her bag was sanitary products but much to the girls joy Lauren offered these. The girl took them and said it is so hard for a homeless women at "that time of month" Ladies, I ask you to consider just for a moment what that might feel like? We all have our horror stories of the time when...... Now imagine that you are always in that situation. The obstacles these women face simply tending to their physical requirements are horrifying! If a homeless women addresses you, you may not have money nor food, but if you can help in this way do so. Yes, I know it may be a bit awkward, but I challenge each of you to extend what you can. I now carry extra everything (tampons, sanitary napkins, cleaning wipes) I put them in small zip lock bags so I can discreetly hand them over. I can not tell you how many women have simply said God Bless You. God Has Blessed Me, and I pray he continues to do so.

Hey ALL,

Just met up with Angela Jia Kim co founder of Savor the Success, owner of OM Aroma & Co. and Savor Spa.

I first saw Angela at The General Assembly Creators Unconference in May. I was so intrigued by her story of touring pianist turned entrepreneur, probably because it has some real similarities to my own story. I knew I wanted to connect with her, and cajoled an introduction from a mutual acquaintance. We met at her fabulous Savor Spa in the West Village. After a quick hug and a hey girl I knew we were gonna hit it off. We left the spa and went next door to a cute little wine cafe. 

After ordering our cheese plate and wine, we got down to business.We talked about Tea and Wisdom and where I want it to go and more importantly how to get there.I found Angela's insight to be targeted which helped me to focus on what needs to happen to grow Tea and Wisdom (both the product line and the Seminars). Angela shared with me some of her early mistakes that she thought I might learn from. She listen to my ideas and asked thought provoking questions. I can't thank Angela enough for her time and her support.

Tea & Wisdom

Hey Tea & Wisdom Members:

It's been a while but Tea & Wisdom is back on Tumblr!!!! So I am trying to expand my knowledge. Although I embrace technology I readily admit I can suck at it. LOL No, seriously my daughter gets so frustrated with me sometimes but she persists in explaining to me the how to's of social media. I am so proud to say I created a Facebook page for Tea and Wisdom. Soon you will all have more immediate access and will be able to ask questions and get bits of wisdom from me and others in the Tea & Wisdom community!! I will let you all know when we go LIVE!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the book I suggested: Now Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham and Donald C. Clifton, Ph.D Reach out and tell me your thoughts. I am very eager for you to share what you have learned about your strengths.

Tea and Wisdom

                                Tea and Wisdom is an idea that I have been toying with for some time. In 2009 my Executive Producer from Discovery Channel Robert Branch asked me to do a segment for his web based radio show.   Robert is a long time friend who has always believed that I had a gift of wisdom and that I should share it. 

After carefully considering what to talk about I decided to use my own circumstance as a talking point. I named my segment “Put your Big Girl Panties on and Take Charge of Your Bliss.” I had realized if my circumstances in my own life were going to change, I would have to be the one to change them.

At that time I was divorced, working, raising my teenage daughter Lauren and living a some what comfortable life. I did however want more. I had lived in the suburbs for around 10 years and realized soon after getting there that I longed to be back in New York. It was where I always wanted to be.  

All my friends in the suburbs just shook their heads. “Why would you want to go back to that, all the hustle and bustle and people? You have a beautiful home and a comfortable life here.” Yes, all that was true but what I didn’t have was Bliss. 

When I did my segment that day on Robert’s show I wasn’t sure if anyone would want to hear what I had to say, but I felt if I could share my experience of seeking Bliss it might help someone. The response was incredible. I had so many people contacting me about the segment and requests for speaking engagements!

I now live in NYC and boy have I found BLISS! My life is a mixed bag of successes and learning opportunities (not failures). What I have found most interesting for me is the relationships I have forged with the women in my life. These women, both young, and some “seasoned,” some just starting their careers, some in high level positions. 

I often ask my friends to tea if they have something they’d like to discuss with me. I just think better with a cup of tea in front of me. I make them all laugh they say because of my truthful honest approach to most anything. Well I think that approach has come with a lot of Tea and a bit of Wisdom. 

At the request of many of you, I have decided to hold  a more formal “talk” called Tea and Wisdom.  The first talk will be coming soon to NYC. So make sure you continue to follow my Tea-and-Wisdom tumblr for a save the date announcement!

My hope is that something I say will resonate with you and help you on your journey to Bliss.
