This work is a representation of Maria Clara’s thoughts if granted that she and Crisostomo Ibarra will have the chance to meet again after many years. The work represents the pain that she had to go through while Crisostomo was not around. 

The pain of losing someone is probably the hardest, but to live with the pain and to carry on with your life after that is probably the worst feeling one has to go through.
