we could’ve had such good angst

logan unable to stop going into his berserker rage, having issues coming out of it, terrified of fully losing himself, angry that the weapon x program might’ve actually helped him in the long run since the adamantium kept his mutation from going into overdrive, feeling both relieved its gone and useless withhout it

but nah, let’s have an alien/the thing pastiche where he’s barely there and actually let’s focus on morph’s feelings for him after both have been largely absent from the first 4 eps

#can you tell im pissy about this? ugh #and let me be clear i LIKE logan being part of the team and not the main focus most of the time #but in an ensemble show he does need SOME characterization and time to shine #so when it looks like 1.5 seasons in we’re gonna get a logan ep and it ends up being this yes im gonna be irritated #x men 97 #wolverine

wolverine should've had a two part "lifedeath" style storyline exploring the physical and psychological impact of losing his adamantium as his mutation goes into overdrive and risks turning him feral

barely seeing him in the first 4 eps and then having him barely speak or be present in what was meant to be "his" episode before quickly getting his adamantium back is so disappointing

#first big misstep of this show im saying it now #the show's lack of wolverine focus is fine but it's starting to feel pointed in a way i think is detrimental to the overall story #he's still a part of the ensemble you gotta do better by him #i love morph but honestly this was more HIS ep than logan's #xmen 97 #wolverine #x men 97

i think it's so funny how there are some kinds of people who are watching widow's bay like it's a purely mystery box show and it reaaaaally isn't

like the bit in ep 1 where shep's age is listed as 37 and tom goes "well that can't be right", it was just a joke about how shitty the doctor is (katie dippold said so in a tv guide interview)

or like the turned over car in the wolf calendar, people were speculating like oh it's a clue! buddy no it's a joke!

i adore the idea that some things really ARE seeds to future lore but others are just for shits and giggles and sometimes you won't know which is which. it makes things more fun and is a nice reminder that hey, this is a comedy too don't take everything so seriously
