Wroxeter Roman City, near Shrewsbury

At Wroxeter, substantial remains reveal the scale of the Roman city. The site contains some of the highest remaining Roman walls from the substantial bathhouse. Wroxeter was the fourth largest Roman city in Britain and close in size to Pompeii. The famous road, Watling Street passed this location.
