“Every act of perception, is to some degree an act of creation, and every act of memory is to some degree an act of imagination.” - Oliver SacksÂ
“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.” - Frida Kahlo
Tomorrow is the THIRD Mini Monotone Book Club (Feb 1st)!!! - - - The Mini Monotone Book Club is an online book sharing club and invites ANYONE of any skill set to join. On the 1st of each month we share on Instagram mini monotone artworks (in any artistic medium) of our favourite books, accompanied by a brief explanation as to why we find it so endearing. There are only TWO GUIDELINES: 1. The size is mini. 2. The colour is monotone (hence why it is called the Mini Monotone Book Club). - - - If you’d like to participate each month head to www.alexiswinter.com/MMBC for all the details, or check out last months #MiniMonotoneBookClub artworks for some beautiful inspiration. I can’t wait to see what everyone creates! x
The beautifully poetric prose of Amy Winehouse.
“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”
