Tirza (Lee DuVall) - Lady of the Wine Bath: as scanned from the May 1940 issue of IT magazine.

Tirza was billed at the “Lady of the Wine Bath” because her most famous routine featured her bathing in a wine fountain.  Originally she work as a stenographer, but found she would make more in burlesque - which was important because she supported both her mother and her younger brother.  This act was so wildly popular, that she replace Rosita Royce, and her doves, at the 1939 New York World’s Fair.  Which resulted in Rosita suing the promoters for the World’s Fair for breech of contract - a suit Rosita won.
