allstar weekend; new image, new music, new them?
Decided it was time to make a post about this, because lately I have been seeing a lot of posts either complaining about the "new" guys or just ranting. Decided to let everyone know my irrelevant opinion.
First of all, I just wanted to talk about their new image. The fact that they left holly wood records made me gain a lot of respect for them. Leaving hollywood records was the best decision they have ever made. Sure they're unsigned, but hollywood records held them back from doing so much more. Now they have more of an opportunity to do what they love.
second, their new music. okay look, iv only seen complaints about their music from the younger fan base. And to be honest, if you don't like the fact that they are growing up and actually sharing their experiences and the fact that they aren't goodie goods than you can just leave the fan base. Everyone grows up, everyone experiences drugs, alcohol, parties and of course sex. They're grown men. Don't even pull that "cameron is a virgin" he hasn't had his first kiss crap anymore. Lets be real. If you think that about any of the guys you clearly are far from reality. They're grown ass men and obviously have hooked up with girls, and if they haven't than that is rather embarrassing on their part. The fans who still believe that cameron has never had a girlfriend need to sit down and just think about it. He was saying that like in early interviews like 3 years ago. haha like seriously guys. Their music now clearly explains a lot about them. and a lot of you don't like it. And if you don't like it, stop complaining about it and stop listening to it. Who can honestly say that they want to hear "HEY PRINCESS IN A WHITE DRESS CHUCK TAYLORS GOT ME OBSESSED" okay granted that song plays and i still geek out, but they aren't little kids anymore. Their old music was great, don't get me wrong, but it was juvenile and they are growing up. AND guess what so are we. I look at the new music and I'm like "wow i actually like this because i can kinda relate" because I'm an 18 year old girl and i party and drink and do things for the hell of it because you know " yolo"Ā
Their new music isn't bad, its different. hence the "new". If you don't like what the lyrics say now, I'm sorry that they won't be singing about dancing forever in the backyard by the pool or saving some princess in a castle or how zach is barely 5 foot 8 but can roller skate.Ā
third, the "new" them' I actually dated a boy in a band, the name of him and his band will be kept left unsaid unless personally asked in a message, but getting to know how the industry actually works opened my eyes to a lot, including how allstar weekend is. My ex boyfriend actually opened for allstar weekend back in march i believe, and I got to get to know the guys from a different perspective. At first they were a bit rude to their fans and i noticed that, but thats a normal thing for bands. If half of you actually got to know bands individually like instead of at a meet and greet where of course they have to be nice to you, than you would realize that too. Iv been to so many concerts where I get to see the real side of a band, for crying out loud kenny from the after party had sex with one of my friends in his van. Tyler wilson makes out with countless girls at shows. Michael barely goes to meet and greets. Ā That shit happens you guys. Band boys aren't perfection, and you can't keep putting them on a pedistool. They aren't perfect. Zach isn't perfect, Cameron isn't, and neither is Michael. There isn't a "new them" they're the same guys they've always been, they're just more open about it now. And I can honestly say that I know that.Ā
Well, that was my rant about them. Still love them everything they've done recently hasn't exactly affected my perspective on them. Ill still be at a few of their shows. But instead of spending 70 bucks on a stupid meet and greet pass, you'll find me in a Ā shitty seat for 20 dollars instead because you know what, going to a concert isn't all about meeting the band and getting a kiss on the cheek. Its about actually watching the show regardless of where you sit.Ā
