A few thoughts

So sad to read that Milo has dissapeared. In London all the time you see notes with a photos of dissapeard cats pinned to trees. Maybe foxes. You are in my thoughts and if thoughts could travel like email you would hear from me all the time. I am undisciplined and lazy but I do care about my friends. Such a lot has happened since i last phoned yout. China, India, Asia increasingly dominate the world markets while the USA Europe Russia embark on crusades to control resources in Iran, Iraq Libya Syria Afghanistan which has resulted in a tide of displaced peoples fleeing to Europe. We are like a snake devouring it's own tail. I voted to come out of Europe not thinking it would happen. Now it has I regret it. I am appalled at the 'according to the press' the backlash against immigrants who have made their home in this country, and if true it makes me ashamed of my country. I don't have any solutions. If we try to redistribute wealth by changing the law all that will happen is we will all end up with a more equal slice of a much smaller cake. The upside to this is people are happier if they do not see such large divisions in society. So let's all race to the bottom. How did it come to this, Hillary or Trump. A depressing future. I am all for the free movement of people if you can find employment and support yourself. We need to be tolerant of cultures we don't understand .

Ending relationship rant : By Gustavo Ponderosa

I have been perpetuating an illusion, Which perhaps was one of simple convenience on her part. I’ve travelled to many roads, known to many people. professional and personal to be surprised by this realisation. its probably time to move on. People form alliances out of need and circumstance - even convenience - there time together becomes in a small way part of history in the chamber of memories It becomes a sort of afterlife ,the way it was, a recollection, now passed - memory plays tricks of convenience - How I would like it to be, then as with a cyclone forms a sort of violent punctuation, now gone. For a time we accommodated each other in the days and years leading up to the storm, then a hard wind blew it all away.

AUTUMN WITH KARL MARX

I climbed the hill of swains lane / step-by-step into the park keeper role. Hired for autumn’s excess / conscious of my image adding cigarette smoke to the smoking leaves largess / I sweep the tide of summers’ days and await the sad eyes of love’s labor lost.

How like us Karl and me to early greet another day of liberty; money for bus fare and fags, a token rent and some dinner well spent / a book and warm coat for the coming winter.

The economics seem fair a hired broom to pay for my room/ in my mind a place full of poetry and music and later the Sunday papers and there was I when Kennedy was shot.

All economy spent in fair exchange/ nothing ventured nothing gained/ as I say adieu Karl, descend the hill and by trolley bus go home now I must/ I think a little wiser not to make a fuss but feel a liking for Karl Marx and his bust.
