Thinking of going to Boracay but on a tight budget? In this blog we review and share traveling to Boracay via 2GO. There are plenty of advantages.
Travelling to Boracay via 2GO Experience | Review 🏖🏖🏖
🏖The new Boracay screams huge improvement from the recent 6-month rehabilitation last year. But for me, Boracay was a dream until weeks ago wherein I finally stepped my feet on its white sand and pristine water. 🙂Also, thinking of going to Boracay but on a tight budget? Going Do-It-Yourself will do the trick similar to what we did this month. And in our travel itinerary, we chose traveling to Boracay via #2GO rather than a plane.
✈️Travel by plane: ✈️Travel time is less than an hour but the tickets are way higher, likely double the cost and higher if you’ll pick the convenient times. One solution for this is to hunt for piso fares, which requires lots of effort and coffee. 🙂 ✈️You have to allot 2 to 3 hours before the departure time due to traffic and boarding process.
🛳Travel by ship/RoRo: 🛳Travel time is around 9 hours and the fare is cheaper than a plane ticket. 🛳You can get a ticket for less than a thousand peso. 🛳We had a cabin for P1600...and it has its own restroom! ;) 🛳Sleep during travel, let the waves lullaby you. 🛳You can also bring in your car or motorcycle since the ship is a Roll-On/Roll-Off (RoRo).

I’ve been craving for camping by the beach for a while. You pitch your own tent, sleep near the shore and feel the sea breeze — experience the bond with mother nature at its finest. Usually, beach campers choose public beaches as it’s the most feasible and affordable option. After browsing some candidates, we decided to go to a small cove in Nasugbu, Batangas where Calayo beach is located. It’s a 2 and a half …
If you’re used on private resort staycations, then you might be disappointed at first. The area is a fishing village turned into a beach resort. You’ll be passing by simple houses and small sari-sari stores. At the beach, there were small boats parked at the shore. But don’t worry as the beach has a long stretch of coarse-to-fine, brownish-white sandy areas.
The shore was generally clean on the time of our visit. Kudos to the barangay, that’s environmental fee taken into good use. The water was not turquoise as the light won’t reflect on a brownish sand off the shore. But if you’ll look closely, the water was clean and clear.
Take a dip and you’ll feel the softness of the sand beneath the water. There were no rocks, sea urchins and sea weeds. Now, that invigorating feeling compensates for the absence of turquoise color. It’s fun and safe to swim as the sea floor’s depth has a gradual slope. Life guards can also be spotted watching.
Being a favorite place to visit if you’re lazy of thinking where to go next, Tagaytay has been on the top list for a quick destress weekend. The place’s weather is perfect for summer season, and the breathtaking view of the Taal Lake is something you can’t get use to. With this, we tried Tagaytay staycation at a well known condo. Chill out, try our drone and experience another staycation were our main objective on …
We were searching of beautiful beaches we can go to for our birthday celebration this year. Boracay could have been our destination but we had time constraints plus the ongoing cleaning of the island might pose uncertainties. Thank goodness, I found a very place that piqued my interest after watching a local show. Romblon Island, here we go! Why Romblon Island? Yeah, we seldom hear this island as a favorite beach destination. Even the locals …
Travel Tips:
1. Plan ahead to avoid the rush and uncertainties. 2. Choose tourist class if you're not used in travelling via RORO because it's very humid and noisy outside. 3. If you are on tight schedule like us, rent the tricycle for the whole tour. 4. If you have a lots of free time, take public tricycle transpo to save as much as 500%. 5. Bring large scarfs that you can use as a blanket and sun shield at the same time. 6. Have a chat with the locals. They're very friendly. 7. There are some tour packages available for a more seamless travel but I think doing D-I-Y or backpacking is quite easy.
Things to bring:
1. Powerbank. You will be travelling for more than 8 hours onboard and charging stations are expensive so bring your high capacity powerbanks. 2. Water bottle. I can't believe we survived our 2nd day until lunch without drinking water. Stay hydrated guys! 3. Cash. There's an atm at Romblon, Romblon from PNB but to be sure, bring some extra with you. 4. Padlocks. This is for your bags so you can roam around the ship without worrying for your belongings. 5. Swimming gears, shades, sunblocks, tent 6. Dry bag. I put my dslr and drone remote here during our island hopping where the waves can be very rough. It's very useful!
When my girlfriend told me that we’re going to Masungi, I was so excited; I smelled adventure! But along with that, I felt chill down my spines due to my fear of heights. Not that afraid really, but I won’t try Extreme ride in Enchanted Kingdom again. Nevertheless, I am determined to face my fears. So, here’s a short travel blog on our Masungi Georeserve adventure. Sitting at the southern Sierra Madre range in Baras, …
Tips and things to bring:
Sunblock, cap, shades and other forms of extreme heat & sun exposure protection if you’ll be taking the day trail.
Water bottles. There are water refill station at the start and endpoints of the trail. Don’t expect it to be ice-cold as they are stored in a traditional water pots that are made of clay or some kind of stone.
Wear comfortable and appropriate clothes and shoes. No slippers. Doing so will make your climb easier and safer.
Gloves will help, although not required.
There’s around 20-minute walk from parking to the Silungan. They provided us with umbrellas as it was very hot that time.
Mind your action cameras, cellphones and drones, ’cause when they fall, it might be the last time.
If you can’t cross on the rope courses, you can ask for alternative trails. Yes, they exist! But conquering those rope courses was indeed a breathe of fresh air.
The trails are generally safe, but I’ve seen some hazards along the way. An example is at the Web wherein there are no ropes to hold on to and the entry/exit points are narrow. So my advice is to look for each other and ask for help if you think it’s needed.
There are restrooms located at the entrance and exit of the trails only.
Reserve in advance so you can get the date that suit you. Don’t worry as there are a couple of slots available if you’re planning to go at least 2 weeks ahead. If you’re less than 7 persons (for example only two), better email them and ask if there are slots available for sharing. Or you can search at fb groups and be a joiner.
If you’re searching for a serene place to go to this coming holy week, check this landmark called Marian Orchard. You can also make this one of your stops if you’ll be doing Visita Iglesia in the southern part of Luzon at Brgy. Malabanan, Balete, Batangas. Short History Marian Orchard is a pilgrimage site for Roman Catholics that promotes the religion through the propagation of Marian devotion and other religious activities. The place was started by …
The garden is just a few minutes drive from the highway of Lipa city. We went here easily with the use of Google Maps. But be sharp in searching for it because the signage is small and you may miss it.
From Manila:
Ride a bus going to Lipa, Batangas. There are bus stations in Cubao – Jam and ALPS and Buendia – Jam, ALPS, DLTB, JAC, RRCG
Depart at SM City Lipa
Take a jeepney going to Jollibee Levitown (it’s near Robinson’s)
Finally ride a jeepney going to Balete Batangas and tell the driver to drop you off at Marian Orchard.
For private cars, you can use Waze, Google Maps, Here or other nav apps.
From here, there are plenty of recommended point of attraction around Batangas:
See Cintai Coritos Garden here.
or Valentino’s Resorts and Spa.
We’ll also be featuring Shercon just a few minutes away from this landmark.
No man is an island. Who’s not familiar with that saying? Since we’re young, society tell us that numbers give us strength. It is but normal for us to search for a group, a club or a community where we meet new people – to blend in, contribute and to feel we belong. For first time car owners like me, searching for a club was a top priority. My goal was to read reviews and …

We all know that Singapore offers a lot of tourist attractions, but there’s one that made my trip more colorful and memorable. Pretty flowers, exotic blooms, and fresh air will surely bring out the love of nature in you. Experience it too by visiting Singapore Botanic Garden. Recently, someone created a poll in a facebook travel group and asked which of the Philippine beaches they visited is their favorite. Do you know the top answer? It’s Calaguas beach, and it was a landslide victory. Calaguas island is my personal favorite as well. Even though getting there is not that easy – eight hours on the bus and two hours on rough ocean, it was definitely worth it. So if you are starting …
Calaguas island is my personal favorite as well. Even though getting there is not that easy – eight hours on the bus and two hours on rough ocean, it was definitely worth it. So if you are starting this 2018, drafting your travel destinations in the country, I highly recommend Calaguas island.
Bali is a tourist destination in Indonesia that’s frequently listed on many travelers’ bucket list. We also wanted to visit that place but the distance, budget and time are of hindrance. Thanks to the web, we found a Balinese-inspired garden at very close proximity. Located at Sitio Pandayan, Batangas, we found another haven within our reach. In a jiffy, we inquired for a Cintai Coritos Garden day tour. Technically, there’s a day tour listed on …
Overall, we had a great experience at the resort even for just a few hours. We are indeed looking forward for a staycation here and swim in their clean swimming pools. Summer is coming soon and it’s a resort worth considering.
Taal packs amazing old houses that take you through centuries. And tucked just a few minutes from the highway is this ranch with an ancestral house at the middle turned into a cafe, hence named Cafe at the Ranch. Growing in a very simple life at a small ancestral house surrounded by lots of trees together with the sound of the waves touching the shore painted my childhood memories. I was raised by my late …
Growing in a very simple life at a small ancestral house surrounded by lots of trees together with the sound of the waves touching the shore painted my childhood memories. I was raised by my late grandmother in the shores of Batangas in their old but lovely home. Now living in more developed part of the province makes me long for them from time to time. And upon hearing a nearby restaurant in Taal which resembles those old houses, I got intrigued and scheduled a visit.
Batangas, my home province, packs plenty of places to offer when you need to relax, unwind and reunite with nature. It’s just few hours away from the metro, and getting here won’t be hard on the budget. We will be featuring resorts, beaches, hotels and point of interests travelers will enjoy. Growing our list of Batangas’ attractions, here’s a splendid resort hidden in the suburbs of two major cities in the province: Valentino Resort and …
