I’m getting sick of people shitting down Jennifer Lawrence’s neck for the golden globes, especially since people are using wild assumptions as facts to spread their hate. The only information that people have been citing is a 20 second clips which can be summarized by: “she asked a reporter to get off of his phone while asking her a question.” This has lead to the unsupported jump in assumption that “he was probably using his phone for translating his question.” Well guess what, he wasn’t. This is a man who was using his phone not to translate his questions to English, but to take pictures and videos of her. I’m sorry to hear that so many people have been throwing these false accusations assuming a professional foreign press reporter wasn’t able to speak English based on a 20 second video clip. Furthermore, if you watch a version of the interview longer than the 20 second clip the internet has been passing around, you would see that she then fully answered his questions and didn’t just blow him off for being on his phone. This is the same spread of false information that happens when people see a post on tumblr and don’t bother to look up its validity on snopes before wildly reblogging it. We’re talking about a person who donates to charity, who uses her position to speak out about issues such as the gender pay gap, who visits children in hospitals, and yet some people out there with a personal vendetta against her are willing to do whatever it takes to spread their hate to the world. If you are going to try and tear a person down, please at least cite some true information before doing so, because based on the posts I’ve seen, the major transgression of her lifetime is based on an incorrect assumption.

Why is it that EVERY SINGLE TIME Jennifer is nominated for something, it’s her fault? Why are people blaming her for it? All she’s doing is act in movies. Some might not like it, but considering the fact that she keeps getting nominated, a lot of people actually do like what they see. Just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve it. You may think someone else should have been nominated, but why the fuck is that Jennifer’s problem or fault? She didn’t give herself all those votes. But I think it’s pretty clear by now that it doesn’t matter what Jennifer does, or how great she is in a movie. She will never deserve it according to some. It’ll always be her fault that some other actress didn’t get nominated. Of course. Seriously, pull the stick out of your ass and stop being so bitter.
