It been nearly six months since we presented our final project exhibit to the public at Imagine RIT. Our touch table interface and musical connection spire was extremely well received by everyone who visited. Above are a selection of our favorite images of the experience at Imagine RIT.
Getting our swag together! We have t-shirts, posters, and VIP passes for people to take away
Building and testing the Spire! Definitely going to be awesome.
We used foam core to make all of the boxes and using 2 different projectors we create projections onto them. It’s going to be awesome when we test it on the full spire but we won’t post them until after ImagineRIT. Don’t want to ruin the surprise!
Coming up with our t-shirt designs. Channeling our inner stage crew
FINAL STICKER DESIGN! 200 lucky people will get these!
We created our table UI for our spire!

Sketches and ideation of our INSPIRE logo
We came to a conclusion on our color scheme.
Tech Update
The past few weeks have been very exciting for the dev team. As we get closer to Imagine RIT, our project begins to take shape. Here are some of the major updates
User Selection
We’ve moved out of the experimentation phase and started combining our front-end views with our back-end processing:
It may not be pretty, but all the work is there. Users can select two artists and send this to the server, and the server will return assets, similar artists and influences.
Projection Mapping
Right now, we can render a basic display using a library called OpenFrameworks. You can see the output below:
Using a program called Syphon, this display can be sent to our projection mapping software: MadMapper
Looking to the Future
There’s still a lot to do for this project. The submission form needs to be polished, and the projection mapping program still needs to view our display. Still, we have a solid start and the future is looking bright!
Everyone trying to get up for our 8 AM class like...
Moodboard 2: Classic Rock and Roll
Moodboard 1: Rock meets Tech
Sneak peak of the artists from each decade we decided to focus on and their hit songs.
Planning out work flows and information architecture for our touch table. How will you select your decade and artist and then size them up against each other? We are coming up with wireframes and designs for our touch table, they will be up soon!
