But this, this foreign words that graced the gorgeous stranger’s rose stained lips? But love? The youth was baffled but did not hesitate to reassure the other. Oh please, your tears bring heartache! Whatever could be plaguing their mind, causing them such pain?
”Oh n-no! It does not repulse! I am just concerned- ” Feel safe? Feel safe with them if all they did were hold his hand? Such a simple task it could not possibly be true! But there was no judgment, not from the one who could not comprehend such. “My warmest hand, that I would entrust a lover with?” A soft murmur echoing the vague and dreamy words. They were so clear, oozing with such sweetness. It stuck to them, those words, but did not fully amalgamate with their heart, their mind and soul. They were stuck.
“U-Umm….I have never had a lover nor have I….loved? Truly and fully…n-no. Which would be-” They did not want to let them down! Just choose already you ignorant little fool! The darling was waiting so patiently!? One for war, a passionate branch but only for the blood of battle. One for life, agriculture specifically, make the food supply abundant and nature surrounding healthy. One for intelligence one for magic- and the last one they possess, yes the mysterious essence that radiates, is moral. Their compass.
Hesitantly they extended a palm, patterns and marking adorned the arm, a bright shade of golden yellow, shimmering in the skin. “h-here-“
golden like the promise of summer; golden like the sand on the beach, hungrily soaking in the sunlight-- golden like dazzing threads of the most beautiful dress, shimmering in the middle of crowded ballroom. golden like the earring dangling freely from an ear to which all should lower their lips and whisper: 'je t'aime, ma chérie'. her palm was golden in all of those ways and more ( golden like a sprouting sunflower, golden like a brimming treasure room, golden like the sun itself ) and his heart starts beating fast-fast-fast...!!
❛ it's so beautiful... ❜ words dripping with enchantment slip from his full lips, carelessly and sloppy. his own pale hands slowly take her lustrous palm and long eyelashes flutter with pure pleasure. what a beautiful hand-- how good it feels to hold it... as if a golden butterfly chose to suddenly land on his burning skin with its wings so grand and so magnificent... oh, he loves this hand, he realizes once he begins to entwine their fingers together in a lovesick knot... he loves how warm it is, he loves its perfect color and he loves the sensation of their skin CONJOINED. he loves it so much, he can't help to cry...
❛ you haven't loved anyone yet...? that's understandable... ❜ his voice is strained, occasionally disrupted by overwhelming choke of lament-- HE LOVES HER HAND, HE LOVES HER SO MUCH! ❛ not everyone is worthy of your wonderful love... respect and adore your heart-- not everyone deserves it... ❜ his feverish tongue swipes across rosette lips with something akin to hunger, as if he wasn't even listening to own words ( and the broken heart in his chest is a testament to that ). not letting go off her hand yet, his delicate fingers wrap around her wrist, slowly pulling it closer and closer and closer... celestial hand now rests on his chest, right above his agonizingly fast-beating heart... partake of his honesty, feel it freely....

I'm in love with someone, and he's my soulmate. but.. there's a catch. I'm immortal, and he isn't.
he sighs— an immortal himself, he held many dried-up hands of his lovers ( their wrinkled skin felt like autumn leaves, but devoid of the beautiful color ). even with their lungs filled with suffocating phlegm, he’d still stand by their side planting cooling kisses on their feverish foreheads. he watched women pass away— they looked like ancient willows, with their silvery hair strands in exhausted disarray. he watched men pass away— they looked like hollowed out oaks, with their throats gasping for air… and it hurt to see his paramours pass away. it hurt so much, it always does… everyday somebody he loves dies, even if he hasn’t met them personally… it hurts so much.
❛ cherish him. if there is no way for you to join in eternity TOGETHER— cherish him always. make memories. make memories that will keep you going forever. even if he is gone, you will still have his smile engraved into your mind… his name etched onto your eternal heart. be there for him while he’s still alive… and remember him once he’s gone. this way, he can be immortal too… i’m sorry… ❜
