Ok I need to write down the pitch, so I don't lose myself while theorizing.
The Failed Angel Theory, lets call em that.
The angel is the player, the angel is depicted throughout the prophecy as a godly being worshipped by lightners and darkners alike.
The player (us) is a being capable of miraculous actions in the world of deltarune, saving (save files), and coming back after game overs (resuscitate).
A player in theory needs a vessel, to hold items, interact with NPCs, ACTs, among other things the soul can't do alone.
We, as the angel are a limite breaker, we change the game, make things go forward through our actions alone, by playing. NPCs can only do so much without our inputs and actions.
Spamton, Jevil and Noelle are major bits of this theory, beings looking for freedom, to go past the limit.
I believe Spamton and Jevil tried to be the angel, but failed, as they are limited by their status of NPCs.
Noelle tho, through our influence and commands, became our vessel (not to the same extant as Kris of course), and, managed to break the game and see further than what is possible (chptr5 wr).
Spamton and Jevil however tried and failed, as the player, us, did not intervene to help them push the limits of the game. Eternally stuck as NPCs. They did manage to "see further" than normal NPCs tho (probably thanks to the shadow crystals).
Where the two of them differentiate is that Spamton realizes he's not free, still an NPC, and is aware of just being an NPC, stuck as a puppet of the narrative.
Meanwhile Jevil thinks he's free and can do anything, that he achieved angelhood and became a player, but no, he's still a NPC nonetheless, literally insane and in complete illusion.
That's why he thinks the rest of the world is trapped in his eyes, trapped by the narrative, meanwhile he thinks his little prison is out of bound, thus managing to be out of the narrative, to be further.
Ok this is not it, I still need to illustrate my words and get to some details (like how they want to go out of bound cause the player is literally out of this world, the light etc.)
