Just created a playlist for On Top of the Sky on youtube
Nearly finished mixing this song and wanted to share the way this song sounds stripped down like this. (teddyelliot)
from the album On Top of the Sky
Only three more to go until I finally finish this freakin album

New version of I’m A Boy - gonna be a bonus track on the album... Soon guys.
Can not get over how much I like this version.
Woops, I’ve been somewhat neglecting this tumblr recently. Apologies. Here’s one from the album a finished a few weeks ago.

Finally finished writing this piano ballad. It’s been in my head for months and I’m never satisfied with it...
Here’s the first track on the album, this one took a lot of work to get right but those are always the ones that I end up liking best. The thing I like about this recording is how it goes through different styles within the song. Starts off kind of innocent, then by the second verse gets more guitar driven, and after the second verse synths are more prominent. Which fits with the lyrics, which are talking about how I make arbitrary rules for myself (like sticking to one style in a song?) that maybe I’ve outgrown the need for, and maybe I can start exploring what happens when I don’t stick to those limitations anymore.
Another one I finished today, I like the r&b feel to this one.
It’s quite an emotional/raw kind of song. I think that can be said for most of the album though.

The album is starting to take shape, here’s the first track to go up on bandacamp for anyone who wants to listen
I'm really struggling to make music at the moment. Particularly when it comes to recording my album. I've got a whole series of mental blocks going on, and even though I've had all the songs written for quite some time and plenty of ideas for the recordings (I've currently only got demos) I've barely been able to get any work done on it. I've had my albums done on my birthday in the past, but that's not looking likely this year. But there is pressure to get this all done before november when my voice will start to change. I think also part of what's been holding me back is that since we moved to the flat we're in now I've been having trouble with my electric guitar picking up sounds from the machinery in the bank downstairs, which is just a real pain. So in light of all that I wanted to share one thing I managed to get done this month. This is a song I wrote a little under a year ago, and I've given it a slightly new feel. Originally it was very guitar-heavy, but I tried it out on the piano and really liked what came out. So anyway, here's what I have of that so far.
