“why is it important to care abt yourself for once”
ok so like everyone jokes about being tired and stressed and mentally unstable 24/7 but at some point it turns into reality 😔
being a teen means your life consist of constant noise, school, people, expectations, future, friendships, your own brain going on and on about the most absolute absurd blunt out nonsense, and if you dont ease your mind just by a bit it just eats you alive slowly
the problem is we kinda normalize feeling down all of the time
like if you’re overwhelmed you just say “its fine”
if you’re exhausted you just keep going
if something hurts you mentally ,you scroll until you forget it ,instead of actually dealing with it
but your brain doesnt forget
it just stores everything in the background like 50 apps open on your phone draining battery
guarding your mental health doesnt mean becoming performative and always being super productive ,like waking up at 5am and journaling with a cup of match,no.
sometimes it literally just means:
• not replying when you dont have energy
• muting people for a bit
• sleeping instead of forcing productivity
• not overthinking every social interaction
• letting yourself not be okay for a day
because teen chaos is fun until your head never feels quiet anymore
and burnout hits way harder when you ignored every small sign before it
we cant control school or life or people
but we can at least stop our brain from fighting itself all the time
letting go could sometimes preferably be the closest to peace.
your future self at 3am will thank you
