The many beautiful faces of Kawasumi-kun Part 1
Mountain Breeze| KouhaxSuiren
⊱ — — ;;
Suiren sat by her window, hat resting upon her lap ( fingers fondling with the fabric ) as she stared out her window. Long before their designated meeting time, Suiren was already changed & ready to go. Excitement was present along with nervousness. Though dating ( & the concept of a girlfriend & boyfriend ) was thrown around a lot, the two were rather clueless about what to do.
At first, their weekly walk home together on Wednesday’s was the only time they truly spent time together ( karate consuming the rest ). Suiren felt rather jealous of karate & Kawasumi’s undying commitment towards it. Although slight, they went on dates more frequently ( to see the Christmas tree; making wishes at the shrine; & many more ). Childish, she was aware, but Suiren felt a bit of triumph to see Kawasumi dedicate more time to her.
As many thoughts ran through her head ( & the blushing that accompanied each thought ), the rhythmic vibrating of her phone brought her back to reality. Although she did not recognize the number, she felt compelled to answer; however, maintained her usual silence. Glancing outside to see Kawasumi linger around the front, Suiren donned her hat & grabbed her bag before running down the stairs with unprecedented speed. Slipping on her runners ( learning from past experience & avoiding her fancy sandals ), she left the house.
Soon as the other line over the phone was picked up, Kawasumi almost didn’t know what to say. He just stared up at Suiren’s house. This phone thing was still not quite working out for him, he had no idea what his mom expected about it.
“Umm, I’m…” before he could even say anymore, and before he knew it, Suiren was already out the door. Staring at her in surprise behind his glasses, Kawasumi tried his hardest not to blush and hung up the phone. At least he didn’t have to talk over that thing. But having to keep the item on him, he placed it in one of his pockets and glanced away.
“…Mom… was worried. I… only know …how to call…” he slowly calmed down each time air came out of him. The heat still wasn’t helping, but he did manage to bring water-bottles with him. There was also a pretty big bag on his back. It looked more than enough for one day.
“…………Ready…?” pointing at the direction they were headed, he waited for some sort of response. A simple nod was enough for him. Even if she looked ready, he decided to ask anyway, in case she had forgotten anything in her house. She did rush out in a hurry, after all.

Mountain Breeze| KouhaxSuiren
It was early in the morning. Since it was summer, it made it a lot easier for Kawasumi and Suiren to meet up. He did have a lot of club activities going on, but now when he had the chance he would at least let Suiren know. His mom wanted to invite her to dinner, but he tried real hard to tell her no and kept coming up with excuses such as “I eat too fast!” or an excuse like today.
The ‘surprise’ he had for Suiren was up in the mountains. It would take a train trip to get there, but Kawasumi already planned ahead of time. He didn’t want this surprise to go to waste. If it weren’t thanks to his friend’s motivation, he wouldn’t be doing this situation in the first place. Truth be told, Kawasumi was a nervous wreck inside. He was trying his best to keep his cool by pacing in front of Suiren’s house.
‘We’ve done this before, we can do it again…’ he muttered under his breath and adjusted his glasses along with moving his shoulders upright. Slapping his face while letting out a loud “Osu!”, Kawasumi dialed Suiren’s number and waited for her to pick up. He had a feeling this would be easier and less nerve-wracking than pressing the doorbell right away. And if anything, she might already be waiting outside for all he knew. While waiting on her answer over the phone, Kawasumi flapped his shirt. This weather was way too hot. He only hoped the mountains were cooler.

Cute Things are Misunderstood
She’s not quite an adept hacker- more of an amateur one for sure. Hakuno for sure is still learning— and totally did not meant to hack someone’s phone by accident, really. It was one of those rare, “Oops" accident. Hopefully, the phone user wouldn’t trace it back to her (if they could…) she didn’t want to get into legal trouble…. by accident.
She didn’t have much stuff on her as every of her computers and other technology, books were sent to this apartment before hand. With her backpack on hanging on her shoulder, and her rolling suitcase in occupied in her other hand, she opens the door. Probably a roommate was inside…?
Right as she opened the door, her eyes immediately looked at the phone on the floor. Then at the karate uniform clad boy who stared at her. “He—?” she repeated.
Narrowing his eyes at her, Kawasumi stood back on his feet and went over to pick his phone back up. Soon as he did, it buzzed one more time in his hands. He twitched slightly. There was no way he had that many messages. His friend back at home was annoying, sure, but wouldn't pull a prank like that.
"...Hello." he finally finished his sentence. Was she the reason all this weird technology came out of no where? It's not like he had any use for it except for maybe the computer for school work.
"...um..." looking at her and then at his phone, he showed it to her while turning his head away. This was embarrassing. He had no idea how to work this thing at all. It didn't help that it might've been broken.
Cute Things are Misunderstood
Everything was going well today until Kawasumi got home from karate. He decided to check his phone (for once in a life time), only for it to suddenly flood over. Muttering under his breath, he threw the phone out of irritation.
Soon as he did, the door opened. Someone was finally home, after all this time of being alone... there was supposedly said people living with him, and now he finally got to meet them.
"He--..." about to say hello, he stopped himself after seeing they were a girl.

♚ | When the blond had told Yato that this wasn’t a good place to doze off, he merely grumbles lightly, seeing how he had just woken up. He scratches the back of his head, before letting his palm rest on the back of his neck. This isn’t the first time that the boy has ever slept in random places.
"Yeah, I know." Even though it was autumn, the weather’s getting a bit colder nowadays. Adjusting his scarf lightly, Yato places both his hands into his pockets. With a breath, he looks away to the side.
"Guess it’s catchin’ up on me."
"Hm?" Kawasumi tilted his head and was a little confused at what the other meant at first, but they were probably talking about the weather.
"Don't you have a heavy jacket, or... sorry, uh." well, this was awkward. He was randomly talking to this stranger quite normally, and he didn't even introduce himself or anything. Introductions might have to wait, since he wasn't one for them, but still. At least this was a guy, and not some girl. Otherwise, he'd have more nerves hit him.
"Since it's cold, want me to buy you coffee? Just this once, though. Only because I found you out on a bench." he muttered the last part slightly. At least this wasn't so bad, and they seemed okay.
Helping Hand - Kawasumi | Yukine
❅; To anyone who passed by, they would probably think Yukine was a weirdo, just staring up into a tree like that. However, if they looked closer, they would find the small, gray kitten clinging to one of the branches. The blond had been trying to coax the cat down, all the while keeping an eye on the clouds above them. It looked like it was going to rain, which would’ve caused even more problems.
He let out a long sigh and crossed his arms. How was he supposed to get a cat down? Maybe he could call Yato… but then again, that guy didn’t really have good luck with animals. Damn his height. If only he were a few inches taller, he could easily reach up and gently bring the cat down.
"Maybe I could climb the tree," he muttered under his breath as he rolled up his sleeves, but before he could even try, a stranger bent down in front of him.
"Here. Get on my back. No matter how heavy you are, I’ll carry you. I’ll help you save the cat."
Yukine’s eyes widened. “Are you sure? You might have to carry me for a while depending on how long it’s going to take to get the cat to let go.” As much as it would help, Yukine found it kind of awkward to just get onto a strangers back, let alone let another stranger climb onto his back. The other boy’s willingness to help him was pretty admirable though. His golden eyes glanced at the clouds, which were getting quite dark, but he just wanted the stranger to be sure before doing so.
“Yes, I’m sure. Hop on.” he nudged himself a little, ensuring that it’s okay. He glanced up at the cat who seemed to be struggling to hold onto the tree branch. Hopefully the cat didn’t end up falling, but if it did then he and the boy would just have to try and catch it.
“…This is nothing. I can handle it.” Kawasumi glanced at the boy and stayed in his stance patiently. If he didn’t hop on, then maybe he’d just climb the tree himself. Maybe the other boy could help him by making sure he didn’t end up falling, if that were the case. Really, were they going to hop on his back or not?
“Think of it as… a piggy-back.” he reassured, hoping it would at least motivate the boy a little more. The leaves on the tree were starting to fall more. It was starting to get a bit windier than before. The weather was very different today. Kawasumi wasn’t sure if it was because it was winter or not, but perhaps rain or something along those lines was coming. Either way, if a storm did brew up, they had to save the cat before it fell off from the tree.
♡ || With every sentence that the other boy tried to say, the more he seemed like a certain red head named Mikoto when he was flustered. The blond seemed to hold himself together better, but nonetheless, her smile widened at this connection.
It made her heart ache a bit though, as she was told she would be rooming with her friend, but it seemed as though he went away for an unknown amount of time. She had been excited to see a familiar face, but she figured she could handle being alone for the moment. She did miss her friends back home though… and a certain manga artist…
Now was not the time to be reminiscing about her friends though. It was a time to make new ones. As she patiently waited for the boy to find the words to say, like she did with Mikoto, she wondered if he would be her friend. She could only hope so… Who would want to friend someone who just slapped them?? But then again, he certainly was more kind hearted than she had initially thought, so maybe he would!
"I just slapped you, but you’re asking if I’m hurt?” She grinned, letting the boy know she was joking. “I’m not hurt. I was just a bit startled so you don’t have to worry about me… Ah…” She blinked. Wait a second. What was that pain? She looked down and her eyes widened at the angry red color that was blossoming on the back of her left hand. She didn’t feel the bee sting her, so how… ?
"I-I… I got stung." The words came out like a question, as if she couldn’t believe it. When was the last time a bee had stung her? Probably many years ago, but she couldn’t remember how she had been treated. All she knew was that it wasn’t too serious, but the situation still freaked her out.
Soon as the girl mentioned she was stung, Kawasumi started to look her over. Where was it? They were looking at their hand previously… maybe if he had an ace bandage on hand, he could help her. However, that wasn’t something Kawasumi would carry every day. He did have stuff at home though, since his friend was concerned that he’d get hurt in karate training and insisted that he should bring some medical equipment.
“We can wrap it up, probably… it might itch later on, I think…” he hasn’t actually got stung himself, so he had no idea what he was talking about. He didn’t even know if she’d need an ice pack.
“You… don’t need to go to the hospital, right?” he tilted his head. Looks like they both needed some treatment. Should he offer her a visit at his place? He wasn’t too comfortable inviting a girl over, but seeing as his roommates were girls anyway… it should be fine, right?
“My house isn’t very far…” …he didn’t even want to finish the sentence, so he hoped she would catch on with what he was trying to say. He was right though, his apartment was closer than the hospital was from here. They were in walking distance, at least. He pointed in the direction and started walking. Was it really alright to take her home with him? It did sound strange, but maybe this girl could also help him with his face problem in return for slapping him.
“Your name, um…” what was her name? Come to think of it, did he introduce himself? He had too many thoughts on his mind today; it was hard for him to keep up. Hopefully he’d fix his thoughts soon, but what he was really hoping for was to get his new life sorted out.
♚ | Blame Yato for trying to stay up for over thirteen hours of work, and handwriting every business card he had, because he didn’t have enough money to buy a fax machine or a printer. His wages are only earned by his work—and each job requested would only be worth five yen.
Nothing more, and nothing less. Feeling his left shoulder being shaken gently, this caused the boy to groan a little bit. The effort was small, but Yato manages to open his eyes, revealing the blue color within.
"…?" Take a little time, his vision is slowly clearing up.
Kawasumi continued to stare at the other with his green eyes, looking them up and down until he memorized what the boy looked like. Memorizing people started to become a habit since he entered Toshi, since most of the time everyone ended up bumping into him again.
"Y-you shouldn't sleep here." soon as he looked at his eyes, Kawasumi turned away and held the back of his neck. He sighed again. It was cold out--not that it bothered him-- but the other must've been cold, right?
"Sleeping at home would be better, I think..."

♡ || This was so embarrassing… Her debut into this new town had been spent by her gracelessly slapping a stranger across the face in a fit of panic. She would’ve hid into the nearest bush if it were socially acceptable, however, seeing as though she had just injured the blond, she knew a swift exit wouldn’t be right. She had only her lucky stars to thank that he wasn’t angry about it.
In fact, he seemed more shocked than anything else, which did make sense given the circumstances. Who slapped a stranger in broad daylight for no reason at all?! She could image something like this happening after a couple fight in some generic shoujo manga, but this hardly seemed appropriate. In fact, it wasn’t appropriate at all. The red mark that her small hand had left burned bright red from the impact, making Sakura feel more guilty than ever. It wasn’t until the boy spoke when she actually looked at his face properly.
He had a kind looking face, and looked just about her age. The fear that was in the pit of her stomach faded and her shoulders relaxed at this; he didn’t seem like a threat to her. Judging by his karate uniform, she was sure he could harm her if he really wanted to, but she didn’t feel that kind of vibe from him at all.
“The bee, it’s gone…”
Sakura blinked. After another moment, her lips twitched slightly, and then, she started to laugh. She laughed, not to ridicule him, but because his reaction was so unlike what she had expected. He seemed nice, but she had expected at least a mild scolding.
"I’m sorry for laughing. It’s just so funny!" A few more giggles escaped her lips as she wiped away a tear that had formed in her eye. "I’m really glad you’re okay though. I was expected you to be really mad at me! If I had done that to some of my friends, I would’ve ended up with a bump on my head for sure!"
There was a moment of silence until it was broken by sudden laughter. He stared, more shocked than ever. Why was this girl laughing at him? He never understood girls. This was just all the more complicated. He stood there silently, trying not to make a face at the signs of her laughing. Although, there was a hint of pink on his cheeks—not just from the mark, but from being way too embarrassed.
“It was an accident, right? Why would I be mad…” he muttered, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. His shoulder still carried the rice, which was thankfully still in one piece.
“Sorry, I’m not…..” he paused, unable to finish his sentence. He wanted to say that he wasn’t good at these types of situations, but he wasn’t quite sure how to express that—especially to a complete stranger.
“…I wouldn’t hit you if you didn’t mean it, er…” or at least, he didn’t think he would. Sure, he did get in fights at school sometimes. But that was when the guys were picking on him on purpose. Right now, the situation was different. He was staring at a girl, that seemed to be his age, and had a smile on her face. Really, how should he react? If anything, his face was redder than just a few moments ago.
“Are you hurt…?” he glanced at her, his face starting to look normal again, minus the red mark on his cheek. It did still sting, but he’d just have to put an ice pack on it once he got home. He was less worried about himself; right now his concern was on the girl. What if she was allergic of bees and actually did get stung…? He wouldn’t know what to do then other than find the nearest hospital.
Helping Hand - Kawasumi | Yukine
The weather sure was strange today, not that Kawasumi paid much attention to it. He didn't care that much, but if it did happen to rain then he'll just have to stand underneath a nearby tree for a while. Either that, or just wing it and walk in the rain.
Really, though, he just had to stop and look after he heard meowing. The cat's cry was close, but where was it? Attempting to look for it, Kawasumi found a boy staring up at a tree instead.
"Ah, up the tree..." he muttered, watching the boy attempt to get the cat down but to no success. The cat continued to cry, its claws holding tightly onto the branch it was on. Obviously it was scared to come down.
He sighed and bent down in front of the other boy, not wanting to watch him attempt to climb the tree instead.
"Here. Get on my back. No matter how heavy you are, I'll carry you. I'll help you save the cat." he waited in squat position, hoping the boy would take his offer.
♡ || It’s already been almost a week and she’s gotten lost almost every single time she’s gone out, and this time not being an exception. Sakura let out a small sigh. When will she ever be able to find her way around town on her own? As she wandered the streets, she contemplated whether she should continue to try and find her way home or give up and ask someone for directions.
However, along the way, she had another struggle at hand; a bee had decided to follow her around, but thinking it was just a fly, Sakura paid it no mind and swatted her hand at it. This, of course, angered the bee, making it attack her. After about 3 swats, her violet irises turned towards the offending insect, but when they recognized the yellow and black stripes, Sakura couldn’t help but let out a scream as she frantically waved her hands around. Unfortunately, someone had walked too close and her hand accidentally slapped the stranger, making a loud sound at impact.
"AHH I’m so sorry!! Are you okay??"
He really didn’t want to go out, he didn’t. But he had no choice. He ran out of rice, and now that he finally got it, it was safe on his shoulder. Thankfully, people here seem to walk right past him without giving him a stare. Sure, he was in his karate uniform, so normally people would look at him just for that. However, that wasn’t the only reason why he’d be stared at. People stared at him because of how he looked, and he hated it.
Today, though—today was different. Someone made a scream, but he paid no mind to it and kept walking. It did sound close, but he couldn’t really see the source of the object. Actually, it was more like he didn’t want to notice and get involved. It didn’t take long before karma finally hit him in the face for ignoring his surroundings.
If he wasn’t daydreaming during the middle of the day, he would’ve easily grabbed that hand that was about to slap him in the face. Unfortunately, he was spacing, and now there was a big red mark across his cheek. He stared at the source for a good five minutes. What was this person trying to accomplish? Perhaps they were trying to hit that bee…
“It flew away—wait, you’re…” he looked away soon as he started talking to her. Kawasumi ignored the pain on his cheek, it would go away soon enough.
“I-I’m fine.” this was embarrassing, and not just because he got quieter. Why didn’t he just grab her hand, or get out of the way like he usually would? He was a karate master, so why? He’ll just have to train harder now.
“The bee, it’s gone…”
