The End of an Era
Sorry if the flow of this post isn’t very good I wanted to write my feelings out ever since the Tumblr announcement but I’ve just been really bummed out to actually do it and now it’s the last day before Tumblr is gone so I’m just going to do it. Tomorrow Tumblr is going to eliminate anything remotely adult-rated. I joined Tumblr in 2010, when I was a Sophomore in college. I was a fairly social person, but sexually very immature. A friend of mine from college introduced me to Tumblr and I was so shocked that there was a place people could just post pictures of themselves in varying amounts of undress and that was allowed! At first, it was really hot and I just considered it as just “another porn site” but I was so wrong. I saw people that I really wanted to become friends with and through them I grew exponentially as a person.
I’m still not as confident as I want to be and I still suffer from having low self-esteem, but I have to give credit to the Tumblr community that I was a part of for helping me come out of my shell and showing me that I, like everyone else, do have attractive qualities! Tumblr was a place for you to be yourself and make friends with like minded people without being judged. It allowed people to explore their sexuality and a connection to other people doing the same. Tumblr had some of the best memes and gifs to go along with making friends with cool people.
8 years is a long amount of time, lots of things can happen in that time. Tumblr has been there through most of my college years, through my first boyfriend until my current partner, through my cringey verbal diarrhea phase, etc. Looking back, I grew up (literally from 20 years old to almost 30 D:) with a wonderful community and I’m sad to see it go.
Here are some people I’ll never forget, no matter distant we grew apart:
-being in awe of @winterlong ‘s workout progress and being grateful for him making a workout plan for me and being inspired by his committment
-fawning over @hectorfabu and charurikun’s relationship (I shipped them SOOO hard!)
-being in shock over seeing @dirtyteddyburr and his bae’s first videos on xtube
-@otakumon for always being there for me when I need to talk
-hosting @panzerbjoern when he stopped by and taking him out to eat some delicious local Vietnamese food
-chatting it up with @megatakesatumble
-swooning so hard when @hipsterinatardis actually responded to one of my first “zomg send nudes yall lololol”
-admiring @thickthighsbringsighs @wolfosbane, and sevenbear14’s hot posts
-befriending @craftycub and @artimues (gosh I wish I could photograph them someday), -becoming close friends with @ogdenprime , @honorablekingbowser, @kabutocub and wtfwjoed
-watching @kylehasnoname steal my tumblr layout LMAO
-going to the Korean spa with various friends who visited Dallas
-even in Tumblr’s last moments I got to befriend the legendary @prins-erik and @jesserobster!
-@bearmythology for all their support even though I was completely wrong about the asshole that is noodlesandbeef
The list goes on and on but I want to give a big “thank you!!” for everyone that I ever got the privilege of talking to throughout the years <3
We saw the rise and fall of many “bearlebrities” and problematic bears and I hope that with Tumblr dying they sit back and reflect on their behavior and grow to be better people so when they do inevitably attract a bunch more people on another social media platform they won’t abuse their handsomeness for evil.
Tumblr was a very unique platform for me and since the announcement I have been trying to find another home, but so far there’s nothing that really comes close. However, I am active on other social media in case anybody wants to maintain contact!

Snapchat: Pandavasdota (this is the most “intimate” form of social media I use, it’s like picture diarrhea of what I’m doing at any given moment and if I feel my oats I’ll send thotty snaps lmao)
Facebook: I do have a facebook but I will just give that one out on a person by person basis..
