Tuscan Dreams
This is an image from the famous Belvedere Mansion in Val d’Orcia, Tuscany. For many years this was an image that I always wanted to add to my portfolio. On my recent trip to Italy I finally had the opportunity to shoot it and was rewarded with almost perfect conditions.
La Tejita Exposed - This a very long exposure shot from the most iconic beach in Southern Tenerife, Playa de la Tejita.
================================= Supermoon Amidst Volcanoes Me and my buddy @raicorosenberg had been talking for long that we wanted to bag a shot of a rising supermoon behind Mt Teide from this lesser known angle. Shots like this require some planning. By using apps like TPE or PhotoPills you can calculate and pinpoint exactly where/when the moon will rise in relation to your intended position. This August the rising moon was taking place an hour after sunset so I could take advantage of the late twilight glow to get a clean shot of the landscape, rather than shooting it backlit by the harsh moonlight later on. Then I waited for the moon to rise to get the shots needed for the moon and stars. If you are shooting landscapes with the moon in the frame by using a wide angle lens it will appear much smaller than you perceive it in reality. Wide angle lenses tend push your background away and the solution is shooting the moon with a longer lens. Later on you simply blend it in during processing and resize it accordingly to better represent what you actually saw at the scene, thus creating a more compelling image. Location: Chinyero, Teide National Park, Tenerife, Spain ================================= ▪Cam: Canon 5D Mk3 ▪️Lens: Canon EF 17-40/4.0 & EF 70-300/4-5.6 L ▪Exif: ISO 400 - 6 sec - f/9 (landscape) | ISO 100 - 1/160 sec - f/9 (moon) | ISO 3200 - 30 sec - f/4 (stars) ▪Edit: Adobe Lightroom 5 & PS CC ================================= 🔺Sponsored by @Lucroit Systems🔺 ================================= Check out @christerolsen_ ================================= (at Chinyero)
Tipsoo Blue Moon
Tipsoo Lake, an alpine lake in the Northern Cascade Range, was one of the locations I've had on my bucket list for a long time. The view of the mighty Mt Rainier mirrored in the lake attracts photographers from all over the world.
Wind and low clouds are your biggest enemies here at 5300 ft (1615 m) but we were rewarded with a perfectly calm morning. The dawn gave us an intense pink glow on Mt Rainier surrounded by a light mist. A setting "Blue Moon" placed perfectly in the scene was a very lucky bonus indeed.
I opted to do a two image blend for this shot as few clouds were around. One frame for the overall scene and one frame for the stars which I carefully blended into the final image.
