I just posted a little thing here, saying I hadn't posted anything here before. I now think I quite likely did, but possibly then, as now, I have no idea where to go to read my own posts. Once I post this, it will probably be lost to me forever.

I just posted a little thing here, saying I hadn't posted anything here before. I now think I quite likely did, but possibly then, as now, I have no idea where to go to read my own posts. Once I post this, it will probably be lost to me forever.
I started this Tumblr - I think because I lost passwords for my other ones. I haven't done anything with this, though.
I wanted to change my profile picture (is it called that here?), but tumblr isn't giving me a clue how to do that.
I'd forgotten I had this. Must start using it again.
Mrs Edison
Mrs Edison has fallen fast asleep, And I can’t wake her up again, no matter how I try. I’ve left-clicked on her icon, and I’ve clicked the wake-up bubble, And that should have cleared the trouble, but I think she’s going to die. Mrs Edison has known her share of tragedy: One time she had a baby, and she kept it for a day. But I couldn’t make her feed it, cause I hadn’t learned the strategy, And then the social welfare came, and took her child away.
Mrs Edison has fallen fast asleep In the house that I so lovingly took ages to prepare. I’ve given her a husband and two very lovely children, And her family should help her, but her family don’t care. Her husband’s in the kitchen, he’s been doing all the cooking, And you’d think he’d start to wonder why she doesn’t come to tea, But every night he serves the meal, and doesn’t think of looking for her, Then he washes up and settles down to watch TV. Mrs Edison’s been sleeping for three days, And I know she needs the toilet, and I think she’s going to burst. And I’m really rather desperate to get her up and moving, ’Cos it’s going to be disgusting if she doesn’t snuff it first. How long till Mrs Edison rings down the final curtain, Or will she sleep forever like King Arthur in his cave? It’s a very painful lesson, but from now on I’ll make certain That my characters are all awake before I do a save. I’ve dedicated hours to reviving Mrs Edison, But all my best attempts have only left me in despair. I suppose I could just carry on, and play the game around her... But I think I’ll get a life and make the switch to solitaire.

The Lord’s Prayer - Syriac
Syriac, a form of Aramaic. The ancient Syriac form of the Bible is called the Peshitta. The Assyrian Church of the East considers the Peshitta version of the New Testament, as the original form.
Excerpt from Hexaworld, by J.N. Adlam
Dargo was the name of an enthusiastic programmer and comparative linguist who, several decades previously, had invented a people and a language for them that was based on binary numbers. Into this language he had incorporated rules, by which, over time, it would develop and change and split into dialects, then languages, then language families. After letting the process develop under his own care for some time, he had introduced several peoples with their related languages into the cosmic grid.
Somewhere along the line, the code for one of the languages and that for its speakers had cross-contaminated, with the result that the language itself developed into a sentient race, and its speakers became their language. The Glots (as they were subsequently christened) led strange grammatical lives, and communicated with one another by systematic manipulation of the erstwhile speakers. This resulted in random and generally bizarre acts, often with devastatingly violent consequences for the other inhabitants of the grid, whom the Glots perceived vaguely as meaningless background noise. A Glot discussion on mathematical philosophy might well manifest itself as a series of genocides.
Koínē Greek (the original language of the New Testament). Spoken in Greece and around the Eastern Mediterranean as a lingua franca in New Testament times. The Assyrian Church of the East considers the Peshitta version of the New Testament, written in Syriac (a form of Aramaic), as the original.
Christus Rex
The Lord’s Prayer in its original Greek, taken from an old tumblr of mine. I forgot the password, and I no longer have the email address I had then.
This is the top-left figure in the graphic in the previous post, showing the view of the outside layer of the 18×18×18 colour cube, with all the colour cells that have 0 as one of the RGB numbers. See the other post for a description of the cube.
I've made this my first avatar for the tumblr, but it has the disadvantage of being too wide to fit properly in the little square, so you get the black background at the left, and lose part of the cube at the right.
One of my numerous colour-cube doodles—not interesting to anyone else, but I like it, and it was a relaxing project. I would call it a distraction activity, except there’s nothing I’m doing that it can be a distraction from. It’s an 18×18×18 cube, with all the RGB numbers being multiples of 15.
The top left figure is a view of the outside layer of the cube, showing all the colour cells that have 0 as one of the RGB numbers. The centre cell is #000000. The top right figure is the opposite view, showing all the colour cells that have 255 (#FF) as one of the RGB numbers, the centre cell being #FFFFFF.
The pair below them show the next layer in. The left-hand figure is all the colours in the cube with a minimum RGB number of 15 (#0F), with #0F0F0F at the centre; the right-hand one is the colours with a maximum of 240 (#F0), with #F0F0F0 at the centre.
The next pair down have a minimum of 30 (#1E) in the left-hand figure, and a maximum of 225 (#E1) in the right-hand one, the respective centres being #1E1E1E and #E1E1E1. And so on down to the smallest pair, with the minimum on the left of each pair being 15 more than that of the next bigger pair, and the maximum on the right being 15 less. The maxima and minima of the smallest pair are 120 (#78) and 135 (#87) with centres of #787878 and #878787. These are the centre 2×2×2 cube.
