Hello! Iβve divvied up my main blog into separate blogs π I might come back to this post another time and attempt to make it cleaner and nicer to look at, but in the meantime, hereβs the breakdown.
Pronouns: She/Her/They/Them/Teku (I honestly donβt care - See βStorytimeβ if youβre curious. Only putting this here for Asks purposes.)
Storytime: This is probably going be eye-rolling to most, but I used to play WoW when I was younger (...than now... Iβm not giving away my age -glares-).Β During those times, there wasΒ βno such thingβ asΒ βgirl gamersβ. Girl gamers were what males called βG.I.R.L.βs =Β βguy in real lifeβ. So, Iβd often be referred to as a male in anything Iβd do within my groups or circles of friends (even pugs). It was only when Ventrillo became a thing and we started doing things over voice thatΒ βHoly crap! Teku is a female?!β
This wasnβt just with WoW. It happened in Overwatch also, and Ragnarok Online 2. Doesnβt stop there, even now playing in FFXIV, because I am playing both Male and Female characters (which is honestly my own fault haha). Until someone hears my actual voice. I guess the way I type seems to lean more on the masculine side for whatever reason. I try to pepper in a million emojis to offset this but, I donβt think it works too well π.Β I also add them in to sound more friendly and less super-serious π€·π»ββοΈ. At this point Iβm used to it, and I donβt care how Iβm referred. Iβm indifferent to gender. To me, itβs personality that defines you.
(Dividers are mine. I created them. Please do not steal them. Thank you π€π»)
Main Blog (TekuTiger)
This Blog: FFXIV & General Favorites (Re-blogs / Quotes / Misc Anime /Β Astronomy / Astrology /Β Etc)
Side Blogs π½ (below)
βΎ Art, Jade Rimehardt: jaderimehardt.tumblr.com/
I put all of my resin projects here, original art, fanart, doodles, emojis in creation or created (be them shared or just shown), and whatever else in-between on this blog. I almost always get rambly in the process, be prepared for that π
βΎ Fanficion & Writing, Eclipse:Β cpelise.tumblr.com
Another blog forΒ βwhen I want to add to itβ. I have a whole self-insert Naruto-verse & Bleach-verse world living in my head and I had motivation, βonce upon a timeβ, to get it all out somewhere. Not just that, but as a FFXIV player, I desperately want to see some crossover things and I can literally find none π€·π»ββοΈ
βΎ Sims 4 Diary Blog, Mari Aurore:Β https://mariaurore.tumblr.com/
When Iβm not in FFXIV, or working with Resin/Art, this is typically where I can be found. I treat this side-blog as if Iβm writing Diary Entries, or recanting events. I also post when I upload builds. Just, DNI if you get triggered by OC x Canon coupling.
If anyone is wondering βthe whyβ of why I divided things, I put individual posts on each blog ~saying why~. ButΒ anotherΒ short of it is; I didnβt want to clutter peopleβs timelines with ππ» so much varying content without knowing why they followed me to begin with π
I started playing this game called Fields of Mistria (<- that links to the Steam page). It full releases on Aug 5th so if the game sounds interesting to you, wait until then to pick it up for all the potential new goodies and updated content!
But I wanted to post some screenies and talk about it a bit because I've been obsessively playing it π π«Άπ»
For context, I have never played SDV, but I guess it's similar in some ways according to some comments I've read on Reddit? People who loved/liked/played SDV, also like/love this one.
Character customization when first creating your save file is a bit simple, but you can buy and find cosmetic gear as you play through the game. In that aspect, it reminds me a lot of RO. I don't know how many people reading this have played RO but you'll understand what I mean when you see some of the items.
I don't want to spoil things, but I've played another farming game where this kind of bothered people (I guess because having so many pets got tedious for them?) so I want to plop this in here; Not long after starting the game you get a Cat or a Dog whom you can name and choose a color of. It will collect things for you if you pet it everyday.
Personally I love this and think it's a very cute touch.
I haven't finished the story yet, but the watered down, non-spoiler-y gist of the story is that you find a statue on your new farm/ranch.
And this Guardian Dragon has lost his memories. You are to help him restore his memories.
While doing that though, you are to also help restore the town to its previous rank that it lost during a devastating earthquake (which means a lot of repairs).
The game has seasonal events and 2 weekly scheduled activities every fri/sat.
Here's some random gameplay screenies:
It's a little slow at the start but in my experience, all farming games are. You build momentum as you go and learn. And for me, it's easy to lose many hours in this game, lol. I also haven't decided who to romance yet π
H2Octopus is the laymanβs term for this particularly unique creature. Somehow this octopus manages to maintain its shape which is comprised almost entirely of water; minus the lightly scaled membrane connecting its tentacles. If you try to remove it from its aquatic home it simply melts into nothing. So please donβt.
I don't want to spoil much, if anything, so here's a lot of the first 5-ish mins of the game~ (at the end of the post I'll add some extra SS tho).
You get to pick a familiar (a companion of sorts) to join on your adventures and battle with you.
I want to say it's a bit creature-collector like, but kind of not?
This game is slightly similar to others I've played, in terms of mechanics and the UI, but it's a little different in other ways too so it's been taking me a bit getting used to it π Overall though, I'm have a lot of fun with it! Very addictive!
The freedom with build mode reminds me of Starsand and I could literally spend days in build mode in that game if the island grids matched (but they're still in EA also and the last I played they weren't matching - I sent in a bug report and it was in the "to be fixed" list). That's also a very addictive game if you're looking for cozy games. I have 221 hours in it so far as a casual player, lol π (meaning max I could play was 30mins-4 hours a day)
Here's my playtime incase anyone thinks I'm totally making things up
Here's some "past the 5 min mark" screenies β€΅οΈ (mostly scenery)
I'll add this in because I was confused within my first hour or so playing- how to bond with another familiar. I wasn't seeing any spirit orbs linger and thought I was doing something wrong, lol. It looks like this ‡οΈ
They happen more frequently as you level up and use luminary points, get gear, use potions, and it's RNG. Depends on the things you do so it wasn't that I was doing something wrong π
This is where I get super transparent as my blunt and honest self.
Some things are challenging for me personally, like those bouncy jellyfish bridges? Are they bridges or pathways? π€ Something about those... I don't know. Takes me like 40 tries to get across the easy side, π΅βπ«π« They're super pretty though, aesthetically. And it teaches you perseverance and patience. So, I can't complain (though I will to myself). You do have the option to leave the portal... or is it a dungeon? I might be skipping these in the future unless they tone down the difficulty or I have a LOT of time that day, lol.
And each new map you visit you must obtain flight orbs before you can fly there. At first I was like okay that's no problem. Coming from WoW, you had to visit the entire map before you can fly anyways. Coming from FFXIV, you had to obtain all the Aether Currents before you could fly, so I'm used to this (they're similar to aether currents tbh).
But I think I'm missing something because most/all of them are in high places that you kind of need flying⦠to obtain (the ability to fly). I'm hoping you get something later in the game that makes them easier to get to because it seems a bit redundant, lol.
Maybe I'm just being a derp, but I went into the steam discussions and they said to use build mode to build a wooden path up to them, but it only worked on one map (the second one). The third map doesn't allow building up to most of the flight orbs π I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually because I'm only level 20, but it's a slightly weird design.
Oh and last note/tip! You can edit your server settings! You can make the game as challenging or as cozy as you want it. The gameplay is truly your own. You edit it from your main menu. So, after you create your world and go through character creation > exit out to main menu > server settings ππ»
I immediately set mine to keep my inventory WITH me when I die because I'm not playing this game like I'm playing EQ again, Lol.
[I had to delete my last post of this, and repost, because it wasn't showing in tags for some reason?]
I need to rant/vent for a minute, feel free to ignore and I have a feeling I may get blasted by some people this topic is aimed at but whatever.
A long-time good friend of mine joined Palia about a month ago and asked me if I had been playing it because I brought it up years ago. I said no, I lost interest in mmo's when I stopped playing FFXIV (I'm extremely introverted - rather not talk to people). But because he's been into it, I started looking into it so that he had someone to group up with. Well tl;dr, I started playing it a couple weeks ago but he lives on the other side of the planet and our hours don't line up well so we actually don't party together much, if at all. But we do get to discuss it with each other a lot.
One of the things I've learned that is very heavily emphasized regarding this game, is etiquette. As in, being courteous towards other players, making call outs when finding rare gatherable item/nodes, events (like bloom/grove/chum/campsites), etc.
This etiquette thing can really go over your head as a new player and as someone coming from WoW it's probably like whoa, whiplash. Coming from FFXIV, it's like, oh, that's nice.
But reality check is, I'm finding out, is only a handful of people actually do it, and it seems like the rules only apply when it benefits them, not when it benefits you. And it's really annoying me because you immediately become the villain if you screw up or do something unknowingly especially as a new player which did happen to me.
An example is in Bahari. There's a rare herb there called a "Dari Clove" and my second day in game I came across it, plucked it, did not know it was rare. I just remember watching a tips & tricks, level up quick guide on Youtube that said to gather EVERYTHING you come across to get as much exp quickly as possible. Shoot everything you see with your bow. Fish every bubbling circle you run past, etc etc. Not even 20 seconds later in server chat someone says something to the effect of "Dari Clove loc. but already plucked, dont how long it will last though" and my heart sinks. I was like wait...? Should I have not have picked this up? What even is this item??? I have no idea what this is? To THIS DAY as I write this, I don't know what recipe it is used for. I'm sure someone in a comment will let me know and shred my face off as they're at it though.
I doubt many people reading this know what Enneagram is but I have a heavy 1-wing and I'm sure that's why this bugged me so much as it did but the next time I found one, I shouted it in server chat and this is where it really started to nag on me.
Someone came immediately running to me, ran wide circles around me like they were waiting for me to leave for a good 5 or so minutes until I left. I came back a few minutes later, they were still there, and so was the Dari Clove. I left again, came back a few minutes later, and they were still there, but the Dari Clove was gone. So clearly there's no repercussions if other people pluck rare things, but if I do it, it's bad π€·π»ββοΈ
I'm not done yet.
Last night, a Reddit thread came up asking for all the campsite locations for a Lotus Tea recipe and someone kindly provided a map. Earlier this morning, a Youtube vid came up in my algorithm about the same campsite locations in Highlands and how they can reward you with 7 or so recipes (might be 8-10, I forget) so I was like okay, let's check this out. In any game I play I like to acquire all the cooking recipes so this peaked my curiosity.
All morning I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, searching for these campsites because the vid wasn't exactly clear about how you "find" them. And the map says "Campsites can be at any two locations per server" so I took that as I can leave the map, reload in, and the two locations have a chance to swap. I could be incredibly wrong. I likely am, lol. But you never know unless you try things, so I was experimenting and running around until I figured it out.
Well someone shouted in server chat asking the location of the campsites and me being my introverted self (why didn't I think of that?) was able to directly go to the one campsite I didn't find yet.
Someone also asked if another person knew the Lotus Tea recipe and if they could make it for them because they couldn't acquire it for some reason? And another person said they could (make it for them). Many other people asked for the same and they basically just said for everyone to meet at that campsite that I was already going to and I also wanted/needed it so...
When I got there, the person who said they'd make it for everyone started getting upset with everyone taking it off the campfire? I don't know if they wanted the FIRST person who asked to get priority or what, but when I said I hadn't gotten it yet, they said "I know, let's go to another campsite" and we got on our mounts to go to another campsite, along with the other person. And this is why I'm insanely confused because it seems like they were AWARE they were giving me the recipe. When they made it again and I picked it up they were like "STOPPPP" and I was extremely puzzled. I apologized and told them I thought they were giving it to me too and they tried to say it's okay but why go through all of that, lead me on, act like you don't want to give someone something, make them feel awkward and like a jerk...???
I'm just annoyed. These two-faced rules are idiotic because the entire community does not follow them. Not even 90% of the community follows them. Not even 75%. I don't even think 50% does. It's more like 15% if anything, or less.
Oh and those flares everyone expects you to use when you find a rare node, they cost 500 gold for the recipe. As a new player, 500 gold is not that easy to come by and you prioritize other more important things. You vets might think it's easy peasy because you've been playing for so long and you do cooking parties, fish, or garden. But at the VERY beginning, you are spending gold on everything and you barely earn anything. Try making a new character and see how easy it is to buy the flare recipe after all the patches and nerfs they've done to the game (though you guys have knowledge I didn't have).
Imo the flare isn't even that great. When people use it, unless you're within the same map tile, you don't even see it.
And I'm sure I'm going to get that "if you don't like the game, don't play it" comment, too. It's only been 2-3 weeks and I've been trying the game for a friend. Hard to say if I'll keep with it, so that comment isn't ammo, don't bother firing.
I also only play 30 mins-2 hours max a day (because I have a life outside of the game) and I see this much dysfunction, so think about that.
Edit: I want to add and clarify, the person who took the Dari Clove, they "hosted" a grove party earlier in server and were calling out other gather nodes in server chat like up to an hour prior and up to an hour after collecting it so I'm pretty sure they knew what they were doing when they took it. It wasn't like in my case where I was just utterly clueless (and new to the game) but I could be wrong π€·π»ββοΈ It's the whole circling-me thing waiting for me to leave- part, that makes me sus.
And I forgot to mention while I was searching for campsites in Highlands, the vid I watched mentioned that sometimes people will leave a cooked meal (recipe) on the campfire for people to take when they arrive but if that's the case, it's considerate and "etiquette" (this word again) to leave one, if you take it. I saw one (Dawnspur tea, I think?) on one of the campsites as I was searching, but as I did NOT have one to leave, I did not take it. Though someone came up after me as I was leaving, took it, and did not leave one. So yet again, another example of people not abiding but if I did it, I'd be scorned by the entire community.
Editing this in but this Reddit Post popped up today, so I'm not the only one seeing this behavior: "New anti-social behavior unlocked?"
I wanted to show all of you how silly my Ringtail Slimes are in my Ringtail Den but I can't seem to get my Audio to work with recording, so please forgive the muted audio.
The vid has been uploaded to Youtube because it's nearly 4 minutes long. I was trying to keep it shorter but they're just too amusing and cute ππ€π«Άπ»
I had level 3 Wind with Cyclones in Rainbow Fields earlier and was running around hoping I'd find a radiant dervish...
But when the weather died down and I returned to my ranch, what I found was a random Cotton Dervish greeting my Pink Flutters ‡οΈ
At first I thought I'd bring the Cotton Dervish back to the rest of the slimes outside my ranch, into the Rainbow Fields but the thought occurred to me- "What if I try letting it roam around my ranch? See how that goes..."
Thing is, I have an incinerator in my main area and I read a lot of sad stories on Reddit where people lose their slimes (both radiant and normal) to them jumping into the incinerators. They don't come back, even with the Lost & Found afaik.
So, the same way I've been netting off my Ringtail Den, I netted off my incinerator. And I thought I'd show this so other people who are in a similar boat can try the same.
One Large net on each side, and then I added a tree on one of the sides so that I can jump on top of it, with a cave pillar to help jump up top of the tree (just to make it a little easier).
This way I can shoot down into the incinerator like this ‡οΈ
Without having to hover using my jetpack.
I'm glad I did this because I logged out to do some things, and the moment I logged back in I saw this ‡οΈ
I vac'd my cute lil Cotton Dervish off immediately, and it hopped right back up onto the net! β οΈπ Ofc I got them off the net again, but these nets are the best deterrents/solutions for things like this, imo.
Might be able to surround the incinerator with other things instead of a net, like trellises for example or a wall of trees closely lined together. But this is a dervish, they can cyclone/hurricane through many things and nets "catch" items, chickens and slimes when they get close.
I don't know if this would be effective with Hyper slimes though. My Hyper Ringtail sometimes gets halfway through these nets, though he still gets stuck on it. And then it takes some doing to get him un-stuck. It's hard to explain. Sometimes I wonder if my game is just borked (and no I don't use mods- I'll never use mods).
But for now my Cotton Dervish seems to be safe, fed and happy ‡οΈ
Radiant Sanctuary related / Radiant Slime hunting tip under the cut (to avoid spoilers if you don't want to read it) ‡οΈ
A lot of people are making speed-run videos, tutorials, guides, routes, you name it, on Reddit and Youtube. But there's this area up in the Terrarium that's being a bit overlooked imo. It's not a bell room or a nullifier room, which is probably why.
It's on the top area here β€΅οΈ (where my Beatrix Icon is, and where you solve one of the puzzles)
Looks like this when you're up there ‡οΈ
If you walk all along the rim of that top section there's about 4-6 spawn areas for slimes and sometimes you need to circle it twice. They'll just keep popping out. Even just a couple seconds can stagger them popping out of spots.
I've gotten a few radiants from those areas specifically, up top and down below (likely they spawned up top and I found them fallen on the ground below). But I've seen a few spawn spots in the dome below that as well, so it's hard to say, but imo it's worth checking that general location if you're radiant hunting or just casually running through like I'm doing. You do kind of have to walk directly over the spawn spots to trigger them though- you can't just be in the general vicinity.
[All my teleporters are in use the way I want and I'm not interested in setting them up to do the "speed-run nullifier rooms 10,000x times on loop" like many other people are doing π]
Edit: Adding this in but I found a yolky up top there this morning! Meaning it's possible to find a radiant one there if you're lucky.
Here's a better zoomed out area of that top area ‡οΈ
There's a massive spot like that in the Water area too that I just learned of but I haven't found any radiants yet because I rarely go there (and I'm just now making an effort to do so).
It's around this area here, where my Waypoint is ‡οΈ
Slimes tend to pop out around all the angler statues and other surrounding areas, but keep an eye out because there's a lot of water they can easily fall into, so you have to catch them before they fall into it (like in that room with the tower structure and the room with the bridge).
It's been making me wonder if there's other areas I've been missing, and I've been trying to keep an eye out. I just haven't found any additional new locations yet π
And it's interesting, some of those speed-run vids will show people finding radiants in locations I have not found a single one in, yet I've found radiants in locations they haven't found any in. Gotta love RNG π« .
Edit x2: Here's a follow-up on the waterworks area. I know it's a couple days later and I don't want to make a new post because it's on the same topic but I went to that area today (5/8/26) and found 2 Radiants at the same time! I've only had this happen one other time (finding two at once) ‡οΈ
This was actually in a nullifier room in that area. I vac'd the Tangle up and then took the screenie, and then noticed there was a Hunter there also.
That area I'm referring to above looks like this though and has a lot of spawn locations ‡οΈ
And if you go a little further down you reach this location which has many spawn spots as well ‡οΈ
There's another nullifier room at the end of this hallway too.
This is my Ranch Layout that allows me to have a closed off Ringtail Den (the cave expansion).
I used this link here: https://sr2interactivemap.com/, to make this map plan. But I had to go into Photoshop to add Hyper Slime and Turbo Tater in because their map isn't updated yet.
From an in-game perspective, to see my portals, warp depots and such, it looks like this (just on my ranch) ‡οΈ
So, I have the Ringtail Den expansion and a whole expansion dedicated to Silo-storage (the archaeology dig). There is room for all of the slimes, they're just Largos to make this happen.
The Cherriberris, or Pogofruits if you're early game, are enough to feed all of the slimes in the main area AND have a lot extra for the incinerator as well as take to slimes while exploring or to stash away into silos. Or, to change out one garden for something different that produces slightly less fruit like Mint Mango or something.
This is just how I did things. No one says you have to do things my way! Just thought I'd share.
Last night (in the very late hours) I found Hunter Ringtail Slime! \o/
Just like Hyper, he also doesn't like sitting in that Sofa. Won't even last half a second π π
He was amongst this Ringtail crowd in Starlight Strand ‡οΈ
π (This is usually where I find the most Ringtails and I almost always bring them a ton of extra food from my ranch.)
I brought him back home with me π«Άπ»
This is Angler welcoming him to the family by stunning him ππ΅βπ« (like he does to the rest of his siblings, constantly) ‡οΈ
Can you spot him in some of these? He's really good at Hide & Seek ‡οΈ
I was trying to run around getting more screenies but there's WAY too many of them now. They're constantly trying to glomp me π ππ€π. Bunch of cuties.
I'll post my Ranch Layout in a separate post for anyone who is curious how I was able to fit this Ringtail Den in, along with all the other things (slimes + gardens + silos + etc).
Ringtails are already super hyper and bouncy little slimes compared to other slimes, but oh my goodness this Ringtail is a firecracker.
I tried to sit him in the sofa for a screenie...
For context, they usually can't get out of those unless you manually vac them off. Or another slime pushes them off, lol.
Not him. He bounced off within half a second and flew away like a rocket. I was like okay...
After chasing him around the Den for a while to get the first screenie in this post (and finally succeeding because man, he doesn't sit still at all) he dozed off. Must have tired himself out (as most Ringtails do) π ππ
He is SO cute. If I ever have to make another save file (incase mine gets corrupted or something wonky happens), I definitely want to aim for this Largo combo again π«Άπ»
Next up; Sanctuary zone and Radiant slime below the cut β€΅οΈ but not Sanctuary spoilers, per se? So I'll leave you, the reader, to decide if you want to look or not.
I mixed a radiant Tabby Slime with a Sloomber Plort to get a Tabby Sloomber Largo and noticed they did a thing when they ate their food sometimes. It's rather rare and I haven't heard anyone mention it, or bring it up, but maybe that's because I don't watch many, rarely any, streamers (on Youtube or Twitch) play this game or make this Largo combo.
They make a big yawn! It's adorable~! π
And then they go back to looking eepy and then sleep or sometimes going about their business.
But I've only seen my Tabby Sloomber do it about 3 times now and I've been trying to get screenies of it. It just happens so quickly that I miss it every time.
I made a Ringtail Den on my Ranch and mentioned I was going to try and get myself a Twin Ringtail and maybe a Sloomber Ringtail but as I was adventuring around, this cutie started following me everywhere ‡οΈ
And tuckered themselves out in doing so π
I like to think the slimes choose you, not you choose the slimes. (I know it's a game but let me be immersed, okay?)
Ofc I brought the cutie back home π₯°π«Άπ»
Later on I found two cutie ringtails from statues that were refusing to leave my side the moment the stone-curse lifted (and after I fed them) ππ I was like okay okay. I guess I'm taking these two with me too π.
Turned those two cuties into a Twin and a Tangle ‡οΈ
And then later~ lol π (I find a lot of ringtails, can you tell?)
I found another adorable Ringtail that kept nudging me and would play hide n seek with me in the starlight strand. He'd run up to me, nudge me, bounce behind a bush, peek out from behind, look at me, and then bounce over to me and repeat the process π€£ Those are moments where I wish I was recording or could hit record, because I wish I could re-watch it and I bet people are going to be like what? No way. It was too cute.
Absolutely brought him home and now he's a happy cute Sloomber baby ‡οΈ
Shortly after getting Sloomber Ringtail and running around the labyrinth, I found ‡οΈ
Pink Ringtail!
Such a cutie π they were doing the "follow the leader" or "heat seeker" game most the above ringtails were doing and was in an area I've seen Ringtails poof a lot so no way was I leaving them there. Sometimes I'll just move them to other areas I know they survive longer because I can't adopt them all π΅βπ« (this is something you kind of get to know the more accustomed you get to the game)
I think this puts me at 10 Ringtails in my Den? Surprisingly, there's still no food shortage so I'm wondering if I can aim for all, or nearly all of the largo combos at this point π€π
Basically, either they fixed Ringtails not turning to stone in the "Dark Room Theme" or my game was bugging out on me before, but it's working now so I wanted to give my Ringtails a room with it. Thing with the Dark Room theme is, it only works on rooms without plots. So, half of the rooms. I've already spent a lot of time setting things up how I want it; themes + gardens + which slimes go where π« ππ
Anyways... there's a new method to my madness now and it all functions again. And my Ringtails have their Dark Room.
First room on the Right with a Coop, Heart Beet Garden, Pomegranite Garden. I figured my Rock, Crystal and Batty slimes can go here + whoever else fits ‡οΈ
First room on the Left with a Cherriberri Garden, Water Lettuce Garden, and a Turbo Tater Garden. Designated my "Twin Room" or "Rainbow Room" because I want all my Twin slimes to go here with most my Cotton slimes and Hyper slimes and because of the Rainbow Alcove theme ‡οΈ
Second room on the Right with a Cuberry Garden, my Phosphors in a Corral with Solar Shield, an Empty Garden remaining for whatever I want and Designated the Snow Room because of the Snow Theme ‡οΈ
For this room, I'd like to leave open for snowball fights still and still let slimes free-range, hence the open garden. I'm thinking add my sabers in here with some cottons, hunters and tabbys. Add in some loose chickens for them to eat and maybe a veggie garden.
Second room on the Left is my Dark Room for my Ringtails ‡οΈ
Just make sure to add the Spooky Alcove if you do this for your Ringtails ‡οΈ
I tried adding that UFO one and found my Ringtail turned to stone inside there. I thought I took a screenie but I can't find it π but I preferred that one over this because of the starry sky. Kind of lame that this is the only "solar shielded" aka "dark" option we have. Not a fan personally.
Third room on the Right is my designated Sloomber room ‡οΈ
As I was taking screenies in the Dark room it started raining heavily and you can see it here, lol. It progressed a bit to the next room but I circled back around and it started to clear. It affected the holographic effects on my slimes too, so they looks a little odd and that's why I took more screenshots in these rooms than in others.
Third room on the Left is my designated Tangle room + Other Meat-Diet slimes ‡οΈ
The Ringtail room (any), Snow room (Stony), Sloomber room (Candied), and Tangle room (Painted) all get a ton of chickens for their food. That's what my single coop on the sanctuary does. Surprisingly yes, that one single coop upkeeps all the rooms π As long as you visit often enough. If you're an infrequent visitor, it might not.
I also don't overload the Ringtail room with chickens like I do with the other rooms because they'll endlessly chomp everything. 20ish chickens at a time is good ππ»
Here's some extra sanctuary screenies!
Oh! I don't think I mentioned this yet but you can fence off your Alcoves with those stone fencing decorations to prevent your chickens from over-running your puddle slimes and fire slimes out of the water or magma (which makes them poof). Looks something like this ‡οΈ
Or look at my above screenies of my rooms to see other angles. It takes some fine adjusting and patience to get them down right but it's 2x of the curved ones, and 1x of the straight one and you're good to go ππ». I do occasionally find my slimes in there though, just hanging out with my puddle and fire slimes π and I have to vac them up and go get them food because they're hungry/starving. There's basically bench/seating locations in those alcoves- so make mental note of that. Other alcoves are similar, like the sleepy one with the moon and the musical one.
Radiant Sanctuary related post under the cut ‡οΈ
It's interesting how you can have the same largo combination, in my case Pink Twin Largos, but they have a different hues because the base slime was different. Ex. one started off as a Pink Slime, and one started off as a Twin Slime ‡οΈ
My Pink Twin Largo that started off as a Pink Slime, has a brighter more vibrant and obvious Pink Hue with some lavender hue time to time.
My Pink Twin Largo that started off as a Twin Slime, has an obvious black & white undertone with pinkish-purplish mixed in.
I really like this tbh. It means even if we have the same types of largos, if they have different base identities they'll look slightly unique and we can tell them apart from each other ππ«Άπ».
I've been slowly giving them names but I'm really bad with names, lol π
[I removed all the grass in most of the rooms and added many flowers instead. I had around 60-70 grass decorations PER ROOM and it was lagging my game out. Now I have like 20ish flowers per room and I have zero lag. I play on "Borderless Windowed" and I probably could have continued playing with all that grass on "Fullscreen" but I'm a 2-monitor person and tab out too often.]
Radiant Sanctuary Question & Update kinda? ‡οΈ
Edit: I just saw someone put their Ringtail in the Sanctuary room with the Cave theme and it didn't turn to stone. Did the devs fix it??? Do Phosphors still poof or did they fix that too? Because I SWEAR I tried putting my Ringtails in a room with the cave theme applied within the first few days of the update and they turned to stone π
Edit x2: So, Ringtails CAN go into the rooms with the Cave theme applied now (even during daytime hours) without turning to stone. I haven't tested Phosphors because I'm too paranoid my game will derp and the Lost & Found thing won't work if they vanish on me. I'm the Murphy's Law type of luck person π
[I tested in my room with the snow theme/decorations in it.]
Debating if I want to re-do basically half to nearly all of my rooms because it seems like only 2 or 3 rooms allow for the cave theme to be applied and I want my rooms to be set up a very specific way. I don't know why the game is like this π
I made my Ringtail slime babies a free ranged area! Finally! I've been wanting to do this for a while but I've been too scaredy-cat to do it because I'm worried they'll get out somehow or jump over a cliff or any number of things and I'll lose them. But the easiest place to free-range them at is either the Lab area (which I was doing) or the Cave (aka "The Den").
In the lab, I was using the "Dream Lantern" at the stairs/entrance and then the "Dream Lantern II" when I progressed far enough to craft it. I then paired that along with benches further down to prevent them from climbing up the stairs. The benches/sofas kind of act as a red stop sign because they sit/get stuck on them until they either make a big bounce off it, or you manually vac them off. Just make sure you're checking your slimes regularly if you add these because I'm pretty sure if you don't, they could starve in those chairs and eventually poof.
I also added more benches or sofas + nets or trellises at the other exits. Later on I realized adding those "Striped Beach Blankets" down helped keep them from bouncing around (and out the tunnels) so much, so I placed 1 blanket per slime down, lol. The "Small Flower Pillow" and "Large Flower Pillow" should act similarly. Your slimes should have no problem bouncing/jumping off of those themselves.
When it came to decorating the den, I did things almost the same.
I'm using mostly Large Nets with some sofas in some places but you can try to keep your slimes away from the nets with "Easy Breezy Fans". I still see them bounce onto the nets though π . They just don't slide or shimmy over to them because of the air/wind from the fans.
Here's a whole bunch of angles~ ‡οΈ
This is how they get stuck on the net ‡οΈ
My Angler got on TOP of one of the nets at some point and I didn't think to screenshot that, but I should have. So, it's good to know they can't get behind them if they're placed properly.
With that being said, I have a portal going into the cave. All exntrances/exits are completely closed off.
And here's a cute screenie as I was logging off ‡οΈ
I love my Ringtail babies π€ππ«Άπ»
Think I'm going to try and get a Twin Ringtail and maybe a Sloomber Ringtail and stop there because this cave probably can't handle that many Ringtails π (well, it might, but 8 is a big number for slimes that endlessly consume, lol)
Edit: Here's a screenie of them getting stuck on the net again and going on TOP of the net ‡οΈ
This is why you check on them often *nodnod*.
But again, I reiterate, they can't get behind the net if placed properly so that's good. I check them daily (once at least) but they get hungry so quickly π« π. I know Batty Slimes get hungry twice as quickly under solar shields and in caves than if they were under sunlight, but I wonder if it's the same for Ringtails? Or they just get hungrier quicker than other slimes? π (I know they eat endlessly without generating plorts, no need to remind me)
