Mirror Selfie - drawing for my own fic *_*

After almost one (!) year of not drawing anything in favour to write two fanfics, I found some inspiration during writing the last chapter of my second fic and opened Procreate - to draw the very artwork you can see in this post.

It took me about 17 hours to create this and now I can proudly announce that I have embedded it into my fic which I’ve linked down below. There, you can also find the uncensored version of this artwork in the 9th chapter ;)

This picture above shows my first attempt of lighting. In the end, I settled for a warmer sunset mood (and lesser snowfall) for the final picture. A few minor details needed some editing too, for example the face. And below, you can see my sketch and the first design for the underwear and cuffs. Originally, I planned to colour them in blue, but eventually decided to switch to dark red for the undies and pink for the cuffs.

A sleepy little town in the Midwest is rocked by random, violent attacks by alphas who have gone feral out of nowhere. A dedicated young private investigator and a suspended cop have to work together to figure out what’s really going on here. Can they overcome their respective issues and trust each other to become a team (or even more than that?) and find the cause of this mysterious attacks before this destroys town’s society - or even worse? — An A/B/O mystery crime AU —

I’ve done it! After eight months of writing, brainstorming and sacrificing hours on end of my precious lifetime, I finished my AU Supernatural A/O/B fic :D

What started as a small project became a huge project within no time. My planned 20k words mini-fic mutated into an over 160k words monster of a story. I’ve never written a story before in my life, therefore I’m so happy I succeeded and finished this project of mine! Writing is so much fun, but also hard sometimes.

I admire all of you writers out there who wrote all this fantastic, funny, dramatic, heart-warming  and creative stories. Now I know how much effort and passion you have to put into your stories to create them and make them a part of yourself.

I would be so happy if you would like to give it a try and read it. it’s available to registered AO3 users only, bc I don’t feel so well to publish it for everyone in the internet for now.

Holy Dog And Dandelions

Did this one a while ago. I put so much effort into the fur and it payed out so well. Also experimented with special brushes for the background to make it look more wholesome :) This artwork is so much happy and positive… a huge difference to my usual art style. No dramatic lights - only bright lighting and a cute doggo.

Oh, and just to mention it - I won’t be very active here because I’m still highly occupied with writing (who could have known this would be so much time consuming. But I have a lot of fun with it and I’m already half way through, so its fine)

The Light Wolf And The Dark Wolf

I‘ve drawn this two pieces in December 2024. The urge to draw wolves had been to big to ignore.

The halo (or un-halo) of the dark wolf had given me a hard time. It refused to look good and it still isn‘t perfect, but that’s the best version out of all that I tried. Maybe dark creatures don’t need a halo? 🤔

Holy Raven

I made this in November 2024. I wanted to draw a half-albino raven for a long time. Added the ‘halo’ after finishing the raven and thought something was missing.

Since then I’ve drawn two more animal art pieces with this kind of halo. Because I like the look of it.

No new art so far this year.

It‘s almost been a month since I had opened procreate the last time. Not because I quit drawing, but I unlocked a new hobby at New Year’s Day, literally at this exact day.

Writing. I needed a challenge for myself, something new. So I came up with the idea of the story, brainstormed and outlined it within two days.

I thought it would be a short one, only a few chapters, something about approximately 10.000 words. Well, despite the fact that I never wrote a story / fic before, let alone in English, it goes well.

At this point, I‘m 35.000 words in, not even half of the story covered. I never thought it would be this fun to me being creative in this medium but I‘m not gonna lie. I love it! Although it‘s very time consuming.

Nevertheless, I‘ve got a few artworks from last year that I haven’t posted yet and I‘m thinking about posting them as far as I‘m occupied with writing.

Binge watched Arcane two days ago and it gave me new inspiration,mayve too much - I finished this within two days.

I tryed to "copy" the artstyle of smoke and explosions these show took to a masters level. The end result ain't that bad.

I've started watching Supernatural a few weeks ago - yeah, I know I'm almost twenty years late to the party, but better late then never there - and I find myself really hooked!

So it's a natural progress to me to find myself in exigent need of doing some art related to the show.

Here are the first steps of my very first Supernatural / Castiel fanart. It's going to be a cross hatching artwork.

Turns out the hatching technique's really tough, it takes ages to complete. And getting the facial features of a certain person right to make the drawing look alike is on another skill level that I hope I'll reach one day... For now it ain't looking so bad :)

Oh, and please ignore the hand holding the coffee cup, I couldn't find a appropriate reference photo from hands holding cups so I had to make this one up from imagination and it went, well, not so well *insecure laugh*

For the final drawing, I added some little white highlights and decided to colour the eyes. The cherry on top of the cake so to say. One nice little colour drop!

The gods of imagination and creativity finally blessed me with a new idea AND enough volition to made me endulge in drawing again.

The images my brain made up sometimes just weird but they're looking so damn good... I have to try and draw them. But often the outcome more or less doesn't look so satisfying and stunning than imagined before *sad artist noises*

Besides, I needed a reason to draw with a brush I never used before to break my airbrush-induced-too-smooth artstyle (if it can be called artstyle anyway 😅) .

The Corrupted Angel

Yes, that's it!

The chains saved this drawing. Originally, I planed some kind of angel-bound-to-a-cross-pose but the cross refused to match (and i failed to make it work) with all the tings going on in the scene. The fire was a challenge of its own, although having done drawings with flames in the past too, I still lack practice with this sort of things.

These kind of dark themed drawings fascinate me since I was a teen. And I'm so proud of myself being able to create such art for my own now 🥰

Even though it's not perfect it gives me such a good vibe to see what I've created.

Just a censored deatil shot of a drawing I did out of fun that turned into adult content very fast. As always I took great effort into lighting up the scene 😁

Also, first time underwater scene in digital drawing for me. Was so much fun!

Angel & Snake

Digital drawing, May 2024

This time I focused on the snake scales, the face and the lights. Therefore the clothes and background aren't as much elaborated.

I had major struggles to get the face proportions right. Still have to practice and learn so much °~° But in the end I managed to do it.

Also, I decided to let the outlines stay with about 25% visibility. It looks even better, adding a certain touch of cel-shading - or smth like that.

Here's a redo of one of my favorite artworks. Put my new shading skills into action to gave it a more realistic look. It's such a good feeling seeing I'm still progressing for real 🥰 There are hardly four months between this two versions.

Long time no post, I had a bit of a struggle to force myself into some creative work the past month. So I took a break from drawing until I gathered enough motivation to continue.

This artwork is one of a view pieces I've worked on during my motivation-lacking time. I also changed my name from drawing-by-the-whim to tel-farkas (something I wanted to do for months).
