A Wintry StrollÂ
Itâs been a while! Time will tell if Iâll return to this blog. For now, have a happy Winter!Â
RP with Obcasum the egg
The spear dissappeared and both Obby and Lutea relaxed. The former still hid out of sight, however.
âThank you, sir,â Lutea sighed, âI was a little scared there.â
Obby remained silent and hidden, even though the coast was clear by now. He was still rather tense, and, to his knowledge, the unwelcome visitor was unaware of him. And he prefered to keep it that way.
~~~~
 âNo worries, miss Lutea.â He waved his cane and Sahara was put into a deep sleep much like Winter.  Raven handed over the ruby to Baren. He gazed at the small precious jewel for a moment, deeply thinking. If one had an eye careful enough, they would see that it was the exact shape and size as his citrine and could fit on top of his right hand. He sighed and returned it back to Raven.Â
 âHer father is going to overwhelm her with too much power.â He muttered to himself, his mind still elsewhere. After a bit, he looked over where Obby hid and called out to him.Â
 âGather around children, I fear there is someone else we must acknowledge. I believe Lutea and Obcasum know who I mean.â His last few words were rather grave and dark, hinting at the meaning behind them.Â
RP with Obcasum the egg
Lutea winces when Sahara said her name, but otherwise stood her ground and kept her spear pointed at Sahara.
âYes, Iâm Lutea. I wonât say anything more.â
Obby was sligjtly relieved by the miracle that he had not been noticed, and the embers turned to ash and fell to the ground. He continued to listen silently, not daring to look and see what was going on.
And, as this was happening, another presence could be felt nearby to those who could pick it up. Malicious but dormant, the presence was so far too faint to betray what power it held.
~~~~
 While the confrontation was happening in the kitchen, Raven helped Baren out the front door.Â
 âWait,â he whispered, holding up a hand. He sensed an ominous darkness approaching. âBack in, get back into the house!â The jeweled halcandran rushed back in and Raven closed the door behind him. Baren retrieved his citrine from her and placed it back onto his left hand, regaining his composure.Â
 âAlright, that is enough!â Baren raised his voice while hovering into the kitchen with everyone. Cookie and Whistle looked at him wide eyed. Sahara only smirked.Â
 âShe knew I had entered the house, if I hadnât, the magic behind our deal would of kept her from entering as well. Thatâs besides the point...â He tapped his cane against the floor and Cookie caught the signal. He swung the pan, but Sahara quickly deflected it with a small blast of magic. While she was distracted, Whistle flew down and pulled away the circular ruby that hung from where her neck would be before tossing it to Raven, who caught it.Â
 Without her jewel, Sahara fell to the floor, covering her eyes and spat out a stream of swears.
 âLanguage please, Summer.â Baren gazed at Lutea and gestured for the spear to be away. âSheâs powerless now.âÂ
RP with Obcasum the egg
As soon as she heard the words âdark matter,â Lutea phased into the ground, and reappeared a few feet behind Sahara. She summoned her spear and pressed its five tips against Saharaâs back. Her lone arm placed her hat atop her head again, once more with the wide brim covering her eyes.
Meanwhile, Obby stayed in his place. Tiny purple embers started to float around him.
~~~~
 Sahara only giggled and teleported next to Cookie without warning. Startled by the action, the Cool Spook almost dropped the pan he held.Â
 âHello, Lamonte, fancy seeing you around.Â
 âCanât say that I feel the same.â He replied, still holding back on swinging.Â
 âIs it me or do I feel unwelcomed here, even by the three guests in this house?âÂ
 âNot sure about you, but Iâm counting two, Lutea and you.â Whistle called down from the ceiling light.Â
 âLutea... So thatâs your name. Itâs like a flower. Thank you, Fortissimo!.â Sahara looked right at her as her hands fixed her black cloak. âReally, I hope thatâs your actual name, thereâs too many aliases in this house. What brings you here to the home of my sister? Does she know that youâre like me and Raven?â Â
RP with Obcasum the egg
The two both nodded and rushed to kitchen, trying their best to suppress the fear in their minds. The two hid as well as they could in the kitchen, Lutea even going so far as to take off her hat to minimize her visibility, revealing her spindly magic arm in the process.
They waited and listened.
~~~~
 Raven opened up the door and at the entrance hovered an Halcandran of deep magenta that almost appeared black. She fixed her dark red curly hair and flashed a smile.Â
 âRaven! Itâs been AGES since I last saw you! Oh father is going to love hearing about how youâre still alive and taunting him with your continued existence! Oh Iâd do anything just to kill you right about now, but a deal is a deal, isnât that right, Baren?â Each word seemed out like venom as she spoke rather loudly. Baren remained deathly still behind the open door, hiding himself carefully.
 âItâs lovely to see you again, Summer-â Raven started.
 âSahara,â she correctly instantly.Â
 âSahara. You know full well that Sir Baren isnât here. Hasnât been here since the deal as youâve already mention. According to that said deal, you shouldnât be here too.â Raven held her ground.Â
 âTo hell with that deal and your lie! Baren is indeed here, I saw him make his way down here! Now let me in!â Sahara started to shove her way in, but Raven blocked the way.Â
 âAt least let me see my dear sister!âÂ
 âCannot allow that.âÂ
 There was the sound of struggling. Sahara was suddenly seen rushing into the kitchen and stopped. Cookie help up a large hot pan, ready to swing if need be, but that didnât concern her. Sahara looked in Luteaâs general direction, but didnât seem to see her completely.Â
 âI sense dark matter! Come on out, no need to hide!âÂ
RP with Obcasum the egg
âThe⊠The⊠The bioweapon. She was huge, and she had a big blade that was part of her arm⊠It was terrifyingâŠâ Lutea seemed shaken after speaking. Her hidden hand tapped nervously against the inside of her hat.
Obby didnât seem any more relaxed than her, though. He was almost tempted to call forth his own weapon, though he decided against it and to stay civilized. Besides, he could always summon the âdaggerâ when he needed it.
âDonât worry,â Obby said, âYou do a better job than I do.â
~~~~
 Raven whispered something into Barenâs ear to which he nodded in response.His yellow eyes gazed over at Lutea and noticed her ruffled stated.Â
âThank you very much for telling me all this, my dear. I really do apologize for all of this, but it has been a great deal of help. Now if you please, hover into the kitchen with Cookie.âÂ
There was a soft knock at the door. Raven made way to answer it while Baren hid behind the door.
 âNow, please and whatever you do, please remain calm.â
âPleasure doing service with you, I hope you have a very nice day!âÂ
Iâm certain that Winter the jeweled halcandran will handle those gem apples better than a particular back-stabbing crown thief.Â
The two of them both looked visibly uncomfortable at that last question, as well as this âuninvited guest.â Lutea looked particularly unsettled.
âWell, um⊠E-Everything about it just seemed too powerful and deliberate to be natural⊠And.. Lutea, could you continue?â
Lutea looked to Baren and the door for a moment, then tipped her hat to cover her eyes. She took a couple deep breaths and gulped before speaking.
âI-I think Iâve s-seen her. In a d-dream.â
~~~~  âHer?â Barenâs expression turned to a more puzzled one. âMay you please clarify on who you mean?âÂ
 After putting his watch away, he removed the citrine gem that was resting on his left hand. Raven hurried over and took it, soon hiding the yellow jewel within her cloak. Baren began to wince, but it was barely noticeable. Ever so slightly, he began to lean on his cane for support.
 âI do apologize, usually I try to refrain from losing my composure while in the presence of company.âÂ
RP with Obcasum the egg
Obcasum seemed too wrapped up in his own thoughts to notice the tension the others had, but Lutea looked concerned. These two were behaving a bit oddly, and she knew something was wrong.
âYes, well, it wasnât the environment that forced me to do such things,â Obby continued, âHalcandra is inhospitable, but still a livable world. The people, at least where I was from were the problem. Iâd really rather⊠not get into any specifics there.â
âAnyways, Luteaâs DNA is rather confusing. Half dark matter, a quarter Halcandran, and another quarter something we couldnât identify. And her dark matter half certainly is something else, unlike any dark matter Iâve heard of. Itâs extremely strong both in terms of magic and physical strength, and it looks like it would use those strengths in tamdem rather than individually. And, to most, it appears its dark presence is nearly undetectable, despite everything else about it. We believe whatever Lutea got this DNA from is some kind of bioweaponâŠâ
~~~~  At the last sentence, Raven froze and within moments, her hands began to shake.  âRaven, my dear, please go tell Lamonte and Fortissimo that we may have an uninvited visitor.â Baren stared at her with a firm gaze. His voice was low, but it managed to pull her out of whatever trance that held her in place.Â
 âYes, sir.â The halcandran quickly hovered out and headed for the kitchen down the hall.
 âI will admit, the only reason I sensed Luteaâs dark matter half is due to the fact that I raised Winter while she was a child. Being around her and both Raven when she came to me, I was able to identify that part of them. Now, about that last part, a bioweapon? What evidence points to that?â
 Baren began to gradually hover back to the front door.
Who the heck invited Winter Winter?
RP with blxckened-star
Nebula himself wasnât doing much in White Wafers. All he was doing was merely exploring Pop Star in general, because none of the recreational activities around excited him very much. In fact, he had been in Pop Star for a while now, hoping to find something to take joy in and help solidify his place in the world. However, he didnât expect to run into a familiar face today. One who he should probably apologize to for his littleâŠillness.
â Well, look who it is. I didnât expect to see you today. â
Nebula began to approach Winter from behind while she was taking in the smell of rose bushes, whom he particularly never had a taste for. Seriously, donât expect the Ruler of the Underworld to be a flower-picker.
~~~~~
 The sudden spoken words caught the halcandran off guard and she nearly dropped the rose. Winter turned and recognized the owner of the voice, memories of just a few days ago returning to her.
 âOh, greetings!â She responded cheerfully and smiled warmly. âIt certainly is a surprise to see you, but please, donât take that in any negative way! Iâm quite happy to see you up and about. Nebula, correct?â
 Her tone remained upbeat and the jewel resting on her forehead seemed to lighten in color due to her joyful mood.
RP with Obcasum the egg
 âWell,â he cleared his throat.
âIâd rather not delve too deep into my own story, but I grew up without anyone supporting me. Thankfully, I was one of the smarter, or perhaps even one of the smartest, children on Halcandra, and I was able to sustain myself. Due to certain⊠c-circumstances, I had to put a curse on myself. You may already know of that.â
He paused briefly, though exactly why was hard to tell. Lutea looked bored yet slightly tense.
âThanks to said curse, I got myself quite the criminal record. Thankfully, I had pieced together most pf the blueprints of an ancient starship, and when the time had come it was ready to fly. I escaped Halcandra, but when I reached this dimension, there was a malfunction and I crashed on some land high above this world. Thatâs when Lutea came and investigated the wreck. We ended up fighting, and-â
â-And he nearly killed me,â Lutea interrupted, âBut it was an accident, and he nursed me back to health eventually. I got to know him, and he was a pretty good guy, so I decided to help him rebuild his ship when I was healthy.â
âA-Any questions so far?â Obby asked after a moment.
~~~~ Â âNone yet, but this is quite an intriguing story at the very least. I only wonder what lead you to placing such a strong curse upon yourself. The energy radiating from it can be felt from outside the house. I can tell it will be near impossible to break it and I can only guess that Winter tried to lift it... Alas, the dark magic within it led to the chain of events following her failure.
 âBack to the topic-â Baren suddenly stopped speaking and for the first time in front of them, he frowned. âThatâs the fastest sheâs followed me here...â
 âBaren..â Raven called out, voice tense.Â
 âI know. Now, back at the topic once again, I can only conclude that the harsh environment of Halcandra forced you to extreme measures, correct, Obcasum?âÂ
 As they spoke, Raven quickly moved back the curtains to let outside light filter in once more and Baren took out his watch again, seeming to check the time.
RP with Obcasum the egg
He took a monent to get used to the sudden brightness of the room before responding. âI doubt we have a choice at this point, so⊠Yes, weâll stay for supper.â
âI can see fine in the dark,â Lutea commented, âbut thank you anyway.â
âThough, before you tell us anymore, we really ought to tell ypu about ourselves,â Obby said, âPerhaps there are things you could find of use from us, especially considering Luteaâs⊠Genetic makeup.â
~~~~  âIt would be a pleasure! I am always curious about any guests we have, really curiosity is a prominent characteristic in jeweled halcandrans such as myself, Winter, and perhaps even Raven.âÂ
 Raven caught the amused glance from Baren and responded with nothing.
 âEven more so I am interested in the halcandran species, as some would call them. Iâve never came across one until today, all credit falls onto you, Obcasum. For that, I am glad. Iâve only read of Halcandra in books. Itâs really quite the opposite than my home planet, Jewel Star.
 âAs for you, Lutea, yes, your genetic makeup can be of aid and help provide a number of answers for some of my concerns with miss Winter. Didnât think I would catch on with sensing a certain half of you, did you?â He chuckled from the light words, clearly delighted to have the two as visitors.
RP with blxckened-star
 The sky was clear over White Wafers as the sun steadily dipped west. The season of winter was drawing near and that meant more snow than usual in the area. Winter herself didnât mind the change, she preferred the shorter days. The halcandran hovered about an empty clearing as she held up a rather large book. After a moment of reading, she placed the object under her cloak and looked about.  A formation of trees circled the clearing and shaped itâs borders. The green leaves remained on them throughout the year, but as far as that, their natural color was the only thing that stood out from the white.Â
 Winter smiled to herself.  âThis would make an excellent garden.â
 She started from the far left end. The oval sapphire on her head began to glow as she gathered up her magic and cast silent spells. Against all impossible odds, flowers began to rise through the snow and open up blooms to the chill. Yellow daffodils and daisies were among them. Moving to the center, Winter brought up rose bushes whose blossom was of a sparkling blue.  Winter paused and picked one, careful of the thorns, and examined it closely before taking in the scent. Suddenly, she sneezed due to the petals tickling her face.Â
 âOh, excuse me.â She chuckled to herself.
RP with Obcasum the egg
Lutea oddly didnât seem too concerned about learning of another hybrid like her. She already knew there were more, and she didnât know who Winter was yet, so the knowledge of her other half didnât concern her as much as learning of Raven had. It sounded dangerous for her to spread this knowledge, though, so she would keep quiet.
âI heard a little bit about her father,â Obcasum replied. He was quivering a little now, but kept his voice steady. The part about him being in danger just by knowing these things worried him to the point where he was afraid to say any more.
âHeâs trying to kill her. Thatâs all I know.â
~~~~ Â At the mention of her father, Baren looked away for a brief moment before returning his gentle gaze on the pair. His charming smile grew, easily concealing emotions he truly felt inside.Â
 âYes, her father, though you are incorrect on that last note. He is hunting her down to retrieve her sapphire. Itâs a terribly long story, but at this point, I am certain that you need to know it.âÂ
 âSir, canât you just erase their memories of this?â Raven suggested as she hovered around to close the curtains of the windows. Without outside light, the house grew near black.Â
 âThey are not like Winter, my dear, I cannot pick out the bits of today and get rid of them as I did with Winter and most of her life. For our guests, I would have to erase the last half hour and that may cause more harm than good. Please, the lights, I do believe they are unable to see in this dark unlike us.â
 Raven flicked the lights on and the room was filled with a pleasant golden electric glow. Baren seemed to have cast a spell on himself and blinked a few times before his sight settled.Â
 âObcasum, Lutea, I do hope you are planning on staying for supper.â
