I remember when I was 9 I used to stumble over my words in a way that older 12 and 13 year olds never did, and I thought that when I got to be their age I would be good with words too.

It's been a long time since I was 13. I never did manage to be witty with words like the other kids. Now I don't even manage to be witty with words like the other adults.

I like how old men chew food. They're so aggressive about it.

Something about eye contact feels so intimate. Faces have so much information and it feels overwhelming to look at them. I don't know you like that!!!!! Except for strangers. For some reason.

(Looking at a stranger is like looking at a photo. Looking at a friend is like looking at a person.)

(also to clarify 'Close Friend' is someone I see in person on a regular basis, so I'm used to looking at them.)
