Left abandoned at the doorstep of an orphanage at the empire of Gale, Dorian was raised as a ward of the state. He drew much attention from the orphanage dwellers when they discovered him to have a mixed heritage when he was shown to have remarkable talent for channeling, wielding the elements of fire, earth, and wind with ease.
Eventually, word of his remarkable skill reached the Empress of Gale, Olympia Wyndham, who saw in him the makings of a formidable warrior. At the tender age of twelve, Dorian was summoned to join the ranks of the paladins, where under their guidance, his channeling abilities flourished. By the time he reached adulthood, Dorian had become the youngest paladin ever to be granted the prestigious title, earning him the moniker "the Dragon of Gale" for his special affinity with draconic fire.
Years later, he met the maiden Elara Eysteinn and the couple fell in love. With the blessings of the paladins and the Empress Olympia herself, they got married and soon had four beautiful children – Sarah, Emily, Daniel and Lucas.
However, tragedy soon struck during a celebration at Tianho, which was meant to celebrate the long-awaited reappearance of Kyeongjang after four centuries. In an event infamously known as the Tragedy of Tianho, Dorian's entire family, and countless others, perished along with the kingdom.
Consumed by grief and haunted by the loss of his entire family, Dorian retreated into self-imposed exile within his wife's homeland of Mjoll. There, he vowed to forget the “Dragon of Gale”, thus never again wield the element of fire. Living a solitary existence, he took on odd jobs from under the patronage of King Gustav Nordstrom, Queen Ekaterina Drakos, and the royal advisor Count Vasily.
It wasn’t until he rescued the toddler Elias Drakos that Dorian was forced to use his dormant draconic fire to defend himself and the toddler, burning hundreds of aldorith soldiers in his wake. The very few survivors were terrified and fled for their lives, and Dorian was named as the “Massacrer of Mjoll”.
With his newfound bond with Elias, he found himself compelled to revisit Tianho and confront his past. He sends a message to an old acquaintance named Yuxuan, signifying his interest to return. Little did he know that his journey back to Tianho would bring him closer to the dark truth of the Tragedy of Tianho
