When I moved into #temperstudioHQ there where a couple of ginnea fowl that roamed about the farm being strong independent ginnea fowl. Then we got some chickens ( #theyiseggsmachina ) and they formed a gang with the ginneas, all hanging out together. And recently this massive goose has joined them too. We call it Hodor because it just follows them around looking perplexed.

One of our favourite projects of last year was working with @midgleygreen to design these Choppy Waters boards. Seamus & Katherine are excellent humans to drink endless cups of tea with. They still have a couple of these beauties available on their shop as well as the Choppy Waters Bowls designed during my #makeathingaday week. Lovely stack of solid English oak shelves for a gun room fit out we're doing at the moment.

Our BEAM Desk in sustainable English Sycamore built around a custom cast concrete beam with toughened glass top and brass hardware. I have one of these in my office and it's a pleasure to use.

Introducing the HEDRON Candle Holder. Designed during our #makeathingaday week, it features a symmetrically faceted base in English hardwood, hand shaped and polished with natural oil and beeswax. The candles are secured by four brushed brass posts. A sumptuous material combination. I've made a very small batch in different timbers, available on the website now, link in profile. Here's the kicker. The real jewel of the HEDRON Writer's Box is this two-action mechanism that opens a small secret drawer under the stationery tray. The ideal place to keep your favourite Mont Blanc pen. I really wanted a two-step mechanism for this which makes it unlikely that anyone could open it without knowing how. By placing the magnetic key in the correct spot one of the tabs along the back of the tray pops up. This allows you to slide the other tabs along causing the drawer to spring open. It took a lot of head scratching and beard stroking to crack that puzzle. There is a full video of the piece on my website under Furniture - Bespoke. Please have a look.

With the writing slope removed you have access to a set of hand stitched leather document folders for keeping your writing papers and secret correspondence safe and organised.

Here is a little video demonstrating how the writing slope is removed using the magnetic key to access the concealed document compartment below. The slope fits completely flush and is impossible to open without it.

The magnet embedded in the end of the key snaps to another embedded under the leather of the writing slope. This allows you to remove the slope and access the concealed document folders below.

The interior of the lower section of the HEDRON Writer's Box is a complex arrangement of features and material combinations. Encased in the pale Sycamore shell is an English walnut stationery tray above two drawers, lined with zinc. Mr maybe there are three drawers... The lightdarklightdarklight strip along the back is a cleverthing.
