“I could say the same about you,” he replied, chuckling. “It’s been pretty quiet at the Academia without you, but I’ve made do.” Which, knowing Fubuki, involved [mostly] innocent shenanigans and [accidental] embarrassment of poor Fujiwara who just wanted to graduate. Ah, it was all in good fun, though.

“What about you? Meet any cute girls--or boys? No judgment here.” Oh, he doubted it, but he just had to ask.

“Judai.. kohai?” He teased, and while technically accurate, Fubuki didn’t really care either way about what honorifics were used more often than not. He grinned. “What’s up?”

Since he’d returned from Darkness, Fujiwara rarely spent any time alone that wasn’t ‘alone with Fubuki’ or ‘alone with Honest’. The green-haired teenager didn’t mind at all; in fact, he was extremely appreciative of the lengths his former and/or present best-friend went to make sure he was okay. Still, Yusuke wanted to prove to himself that he wouldn’t immediately fall to pieces if he was left to his own devices--something he had to insist several times over to both friend and Duel Spirit alike.

Of course, having his deck on his person, Yusuke knew that Honest was never really far away, but the card spirit wasn’t hovering around him like he usually was. Albeit, sighing, he wished he’d planned this venture out into Domino City a little bit better. Sure, this wasn’t the first time he’d been, but the eighteen year old had no idea what he really wanted to get out of this other than the reassurance that he wasn’t completely dependent on his friends.

The best he’d done so far was park himself at a nearby patisserie-slash-cafe with a [rather expensive] cup of coffee and some macarons to idly pass the time. However, as he stared into the void of black liquid, a few stray feathers fluttering on the breeze startled him out of his quiet reverie.

Honest, please.

He was fine. Bored, but fine. He was--Yusuke blinked. Those weren’t Honest’s. Honest had lovely orange-tipped white feathers, whereas the ones floating past were pure white. Definitely belonging to a duel monster, though, as no one else seemed to notice them; with that in mind, blue eyes scanned their surroundings much more thoughtfully, eventually settling on an older, tall blonde man across the way. It wasn’t anyone he recognised. Definitely no one from the Academia.

Definitely had a spirit partner, though, and that was enough to warrant him straying from his table. Was it a good idea to approach strangers for no reason other than you could see their partner? Probably not, but Yusuke’s curiosity got the best of him.

“Excuse me..” Fujiwara greeted quietly, glancing to just beside where Raphael sat. “Eatos, right?”

It didn’t occur to him until after he’d already asked that there was always the possibility the stranger couldn’t see Eatos. Oops.

“Ah, sorry,” Fubuki smiled apologetically, reaching to run a hand through his hair. “From where I was standing, you looked so much like an angel, I had to make sure you weren’t a mirage.”

           Her brow raised in confusion as she stared at the other, which clearly made her forget the compliment––or rather more, put it aside. “Well, I’m pretty sure I am as much as real as you are…”

Not quite the reaction Fubuki usually got, but it didn’t deter him. In fact, the brunet looked quite happy, all things considered. “My mistake.” One could almost see the shoujo bubbles surrounding him as he continued.

“Ten--” He pointed to the sky theatrically, then--with an elegant swish--placing the hand on his chest. It was one of those days, and he could not help himself. “--jouin, Fubuki and you are?”

It was hot, hotter than hot. Judai was starting to wish he’d just cancelled, so that he could stay at his parents house with the air conditioner. Still yet, he found himself (running late as usual) headed for the cafe where he was meeting Fubuki. The change in weather forcing him to find lighter clothes.

For the first time in (quite possibly) the whole time anyone had known him. Judai wasn’t wearing his usual outfit. Though, his signature jacket was tied firmly around his waist. He’s never let it get very far from his person.

For someone who hardly paid attention during so many of his classes at the Academia, Fubuki’s English was surprisingly fluent. Therefore, he had no problems whatsoever singing along to the acoustic tune of Kokomo, spying Judai from a distance and flashing the biggest grin mid-lyric. Of course, the man had to finish the song first; he had his fans to think of! But after that? Well, at that point, Judai should have been close enough to dismiss himself.

So, don’t be shy, Judai~ You may approach him, even if perhaps you have to dodge three different girls to get to him.
