Dear Anthony,
You have spent so much time imagining worlds, building characters, creating families, solving mysteries, saving hospitals, and writing stories that sometimes you forget that your own story deserves that same level of care.
So here are a few things you may need to hear.
You do not have to have everything figured out right now.
It is okay that your path has not unfolded exactly the way you imagined. Life is not a television season with a perfectly planned outline. Sometimes it feels messy. Sometimes storylines stall. Sometimes characters disappear and new ones arrive unexpectedly. Your life is allowed to be in the middle of a season.
Your creativity is not gone.
Just because you procrastinate, feel stuck, or struggle to start does not mean you have lost your gift. The ideas keep coming because the gift is still there. The stories you dream about, the worlds you build, the characters you create—those are evidence that your imagination is alive. What you need is not more talent. You already have talent. You need patience with yourself.
Your worth is not measured by your productivity.
There will be days when you write thousands of words and days when you write none. There will be days when your room is clean, your goals feel achievable, and your confidence is high. There will also be days when getting through the day feels like enough. Both versions of you deserve compassion.
You are allowed to start small.
One page. One scene. One paragraph. One cleaned corner of a room. One healthy choice. One difficult conversation. One step.
Lives are not changed in giant leaps as often as they are changed by small actions repeated over and over again.
You do not need permission to pursue your dreams.
The stories matter because they matter to you. The web series matters. The scripts matter. The characters matter. The worlds matter. You are allowed to take your ambitions seriously even before anyone else does.
The person you want to become is not as far away as you think.
That future version of you—the one who feels confident, creative, healthy, fulfilled, and proud—is not a completely different person. They are simply you, continuing to show up.
And finally:
I hope you stop speaking to yourself like a critic and start speaking to yourself like a head writer.
A head writer does not throw away a story because one episode was weak. A head writer does not cancel a show because a season struggled. A head writer looks at what is working, what needs revision, and what comes next.
Give yourself the same grace.
Your story is not over. Your best ideas are not behind you. Your opportunities have not passed. Your future is still being written.
Keep going.
With belief in you,
The voice that hopes you never give up on yourself
