So I might be incredibly late to posting about the new Wifies Minecraft ARG Video- The Search For The Leviathan - so if you have seen multiple of these kinds of post about it then don't mind me. This is just a little run down of my thoughts and opinions on it and because I am unbelievably late, I've also seen plenty of amazing theories and tons that are alike to my thoughts as well. I wasn't initially going to do a long post this early cause I got exams soon but I really need to get these out there.
AGAIN, This is solely built on my own Opinions and Review of the ARG with a couple of inspirations from multiple people aswell. Please take this with a grain of salt when reading, Im not a professional what-so-ever.
I'm gonna start this off with a huge glaze to Wifies, who has once again made another wonderfully edited Video. Even with the knowledge of this being entirely fiction, the editing is enough to keep me engaged and absolutely at the edge of my seat anticipating whats gonna happen next. All the sounds/music, timing, framing, story telling, Voice acting, even the minecraft body language is so well orchestrated I honestly would've loved to have most of Wifies' ARGs be adapted to a Movie cause this is insane directing skills. One of the most important elements I always look for in any form of video entertainment and films is ability to keep your audience seated, keep them engaged, keep them wanting for more. Ofcourse the last one is optional but always welcomed! The intro is always important, thats how you get the audience to stay. If you cant pique their interest within the first few minutes then there's a high chance they'll click off. A great example of a strong intro is Searching for a World that doesn't Exist and This one. Then the rest is pacing and storytelling, one thing that supports this are the music cuts and building suspense, this Video handles that perfectly. I wanna applaud the Music itself a well, Everything has been well composed and so perfect for each scenes.
The soft launching this video from the 2026 Craftys Awards, which was insane. whats a better way to silently promote your next minecraft arg than to have people do the exact same content you do. Insane Promo. its also Incredibly sweet of his fans to help out with the leviathan sightings report. so "Hummer" the name was definitely intentional like 98% sure but its also definitely optional as well. "Hummer" was spelled out in dereks hotbar on the Creating A World That Doesn't Exist Video, so Either SFAWTDE might make a comeback or The director was soft launching hard again either way it still could be optional since he gave schpood the option to change it to his name. IF schpood wanted to then that little soft launch couldv'e just been a coincidence of blocks but schpood didn't and I respect and absolutely love the fact that he feels a lot more comfortable with keeping his "schpood" Identity separate to him acting as this "Hummer" identity. There's also the 5718 being an angel number representing guiding one to new faith, which is what Hummer was exactly doing.

The effort that was put into making this entire video is unbelievable, from the fake Leviathan sighting reports form the fans to creating false bug of the unnaturally deep oceans from mojang. This really came together as a perfect mixture of reality and fiction. No matter how much was fabricated, these things have genuinely happens in real life, the message was there. These are how legends and myths are born, from someone who started a baseless rumor and romanticized into being reality.
At the beginning while Wifies was talking at a beach and all those weird junk started popping up and rafts and such, I couldn't quite understand it other than the star at the very end being a somewhat representation of the palace in the sky with the flecks of gold as a kind of foreshadowing but I didn't understand the rest till I came across a Tiktok who had their own theories about it and I fully see that it could be a foreshadowing of the chronological order of the Video! Moving away a bit from the myths and legends, This definitely has a heavy amount of religious themes and metaphor but I can also see this being just from a general standing point. The minute we got to Hummer and his belief in the leviathan me and sister immediately thought of how closely related this was to Christianity or even any religion. It was such a refreshing watch to see the two different takes of belief from someone who blindly has faith due to the amount of loyalty they have to their God and someone who prioritizes his knowledge and what he knows about the game due to the amount of loyalty they have to their logic but there's also someone I'd like to say I relate to more and thats Arronax, not as someone who wants to be right or wants to be the one to find Levi like some cool investigator, but as someone who wants so hard to believe but just can't fully put their heart or mind out there yet. You cant just say she was a character that was purely based on her knowledge and rationality, because even after she's concluded her research as a bug she still made that piston bolt at the nether to get to -20,000 , -20,000, she still made that tower to continue her research, and she still had that part of her that genuinely believed.
When Wifies first drowned the Entity went from 0/2 to 0/3, granted the first time was an accident from schpood nonetheless it was on purpose. No entity spawns in this Giant Ocean, this could only be what I'd guess to be the Leviathan, But Wifies still drowned. All I could think of is that Wifies didn't fully believe yet or that The Leviathan was still testing him.
There was so many misunderstandings between characters here in this ARG and its honestly so funny. Like when Hummer brings up how much Arronax sucks cause to him she's wrong and like they're commercializing the Leviathan but Wifies absolutely misunderstands this thinking she's cool and wants to go on this server while Hummer misunderstands Wifies thinking he though she sucked too.
Their final argument on the submarine was probably the most heartfelt scene through out the Video. You can hear clearly how much both are struggling with their own beliefs. Stubborn as Hummer is, He still pushes his belief in the Leviathan, something so unbelievable and nonsensical but to him something real doesn't have to make sense. He was alone at the beginning against the whole world yet he still stood beside his belief, now He's beside someone, someone he cared so much for to share this belief with. Then Wifies conveys his final doubts, straightforward this time without anymore ideas, almost fully giving up. Then he finds it, the one tangible thing Wifies can anchor onto believing. Its Hummer. This scene makes the potions such a nice touch as a metaphor to holding onto your logic of faith. By giving the potion to Hummer, Wifies fully gives Hummer his complete blind faith in him.
My first thoughts on why Hummer died was "did he stop believing last second?" or if he had any doubts. Knowing now that Hummer picking up the potion was somewhat ONE of the reasons he died. Maybe its a metaphor for when Wifies gave his potion to Hummer, metaphorically giving his logic in faith to hummers. Hummer faith started wavering. While Hummer helped Wifies believe in Levi, Wifies logic might have introduced some doubt to Hummer. This is just my thoughts and opinions though, its a HUGE maybe. It is just one of the reasons after all there's definitely more to it than just accidently picking up a potion.
I think Wifies being the one to survive and be let in to see Levi than Hummer might be another metaphor or a sort of sweet message. Wouldn't you rather the person you care about the most be the one to see something absolutely breath taking specially after everything you've gone through together? even if it means you dont get to see it yourself.
MY HUMMER CHARACTER ANALYSIS:
I Love how Hummers is as a character and I believe schpood did an amazing job reimagining him to life. He still feels like a mysterious character even until now, never really got to know much about him but enough to feel so human.I liked that they went with the direction of Hummers being more closed off than they originally first recorded, He doesn't want to show Wifies all the information hes worked so hard for nor does he let Wifies know about the whole plan. He's calculate and clever, weighing the benefits he'll gain first. He got nervous when Wifies reveals his intension about the YT video but then decides that its a great enough risk to take to see the Leviathan YET He's so expressive as a person. He gets frustrated with that confrontation with Wifies TWICE, gets Excited about the redstone water lantern at Arronax'' Server, sounds so Offended when Wifies accused him of forgery, He is so Humane its such amazing voice acting. He uses Logic, Yes but at the end of the day its HIS Logic. To him it makes sense. Believing the Leviathan will come to you, to him that makes Sound Logic to others its insane.
The Fact that Hummers Character is presented as someone good at minecraft, understands F3 and he explains as much to Wifies all he needed to find the Leviathan. Even after knowing minecrafts code He still chooses to believe in Levi and uses Minecraft as a way to prove its real.
To Hummer this was a very Impactful encounter with Wifies. All he wanted was to see Levi and nothing else but he went on with this risk with either two now. Either He finds Levi or this Guy(Wifies) sticks around to be a friend. He doesn't want both, He wants EITHER. This journey with his encounter with Wifies became something, after everything he went through he doesn't just want to see Levi anymore, if he sees Levi it HAS to be with Wifies. He doesn't want to see The Leviathan anymore if it meant Wifies doesn't get to see them WITH HIM. The one person in the entire world who never gave up of finding Levi, The one person who deserves to see The Leviathan the most was willing to refuse that opportunity cause the idea didn't seem appealing anymore if He wouldn't see it with Wifies. MY WIFIES CHARACTER ANALYSIS:
He's a straight forward character in the sense of prioritizing logic and reality. He's ambitious just as much as Hummer, the fact that He'd spent months on this leviathan research proves his conviction. He wants to see this through but knows with rationality when to call quits. The first time he drowned because of Hummer He was more so confused and maybe a bit hurt cause he did put faith but nonetheless there was nothing to lose when he drowned there, it was more so on the fact this random guy he met on the forums let him drown for an illogical reason. The second time he drowned, with Hummer, He was furious because there was something to lose here yet he still chose to trust Hummer. He prioritizes logic and solid evidence, values what his knowledge of the game, so seeing this guy risk both of their access to valuable research for a feeling, it clashed against his own principle. He is still a rational person in the end so he brushes his frustrations off as nothing, realizing that it is still just a game but nonetheless this was a very impactful and emotional scene that gave leeway to the direction of his relationship with Hummer.
On the submarine scene you can tell Wifies cant hold onto the belief of the Leviathan, having played all his cards. He wants to so bad to find something to hold that belief onto with barely anything to go off of. All the conversation he initiates through out the submarine ride serves as proof of how much he genuinely to wants pry anything off Hummer to get himself to believe, He wants to believe but his Logic wont let him.
MYTH HUNTERS DUO ANALYSIS:
-When Hummers and Wifies first met, Hummers was more closed off while Wifies felt more friendly, most likely to get Hummers to open up about what he knows about Levi
- When Hummers first sent Wifies to drown without his autonomy of the matter, Wifies didn't immediately swim up cause he wanted to put faith in Hummers.
- When they first brought up Arronax at the boat it was hilariously awkward for Hummers part. It shows how well thought of the character interactions are and it gives so much life to the whole interaction.
-The development of character relationship was depicted pretty well, specially to cram that in a 1 hr and 20 minute video. specially the tiny little bonding of the two where ever like the ongoing joke about the YT minecraft build tutorial and the Redstone Water Lantern on Arronaxs server.
-The little apology exchange of Wifies and Hummer whe they drowned at Arronax' Server was such a nice touch to add. It removes move awkwardness between characters and gives way for character growth specially considering both characters tend to be pretty stubborn, more so on Hummers character so the fact that Hummer Initiated speaks a lot about how his lonely character has grown sort of attached to Wifies.
-When we get to the submarine part of the Video, the ride was supposedly awkward way with the typical ice breaker "You do this often?" questions but since through out the whole adventure in search of a legend, the two characters grew close. Close enough that instead of feeling super awkward (which still would've worked for the scene) it felt more soft-intimate because of what they'd gone through together and it really works.
-The Email of Wifies at the end of the Video being parellel to Hummers Email is so cutee
1. Hummer is the Leviathan Theory
- When Hummers first sent Wifies to drown without his autonomy of the matter, Wifies didn't immediately swim up cause he wanted to put faith in Hummers. It could be that the minute he started swimming up his faith in Hummers wavered and if the "Hummers is the Leviathan" Theory is correct then that might be why he drowned. That last minute of doubt.
- When they finally joined the Arronax server Wifies checks the server list and as most would have noticed Hummer was not there but at the chat it does tell Wifies, he was invited by Hummers5718 and he accepts. This might just mean Hummers came on later than Wifies on the server since after that first part Wifies does not check again or Hummers could be the Leviathan whose only letting Wifies see him and not anyone else. Since Wifies did purposefully open the server list for us to check I'm leaning more onto the latter.
-This could work as evidence for "Hummer is an Angel" Theory but I'll add it up to the "Hummer is the Leviathan" Theory cuz it works too. When Parameterization finds Wifies He only ever addresses and attacks Wifies NOT paying attention to the guy who took most of the stuff in the chest (Hummer). I know it could still be a stretch to say that since Paras full sentence was "What do you mean WE'LL bring it back?" but the minute Wifies says "We'll bring it back to you" Para looks around his house as if confused about who was WE. Para also emphasizes the "WE"LL" but just like most of the conversations in this ARG between people, Wifies misunderstands that Para just doesn't believe them. and even after that confrontation No one else addresses or even interacts with Hummer.
-On schpoods stream he said that the potion was the reason Wifies dies at the negative 20,000 , 20,000 AND the ONE of the reason the ending happened for Hummer.
-The only reason why I believe this Theory the most is the "Then Believe in me" line. Wifies Believed in Hummer, not the Leviathan and yet he was let in and "Hummer" wasn't. This Line only makes sense if Hummer was the Leviathan desparate to be believed in. All this time Hummer has been pushing the belief in the Leviathan so desparate for someone to believe him, it almost feels like so personal. BUT it could still just be a very devoted follower lmaoo.
2. Something Big destroyed the redstone water lantern thing at the -20000, -20000 deep ocean. Either the leviathan or something else or Maybe in a fit of rage annorax destroyed it? but its honestly most likely the prior.
3. When Wifies turns on Hit boxes, Hummers walk off the screen, not being able to be seen. Now this could have been done on purpose for some sort of foreshadowing that counts as evidence that Hummer isn't real theory but I'd like to argue that with schpoods stream about the Hit Box being off on purpose when Hummer was on screen might be due to appearance, cause the Hit box might get in the way of Hummers Monologuing the whole F3. Again, this was done on purpose so I'm not disproving anything.
