Tonight of one the most bonkers of a ride comes to a conclusion. 9 years ago, I went to Halloween Horror Nights for the first time, and remember worrying about not being able to keep up with my friends. That year, the tram ride was taken over by TWD, and I remember being herded through open fields, the prison, and cabins surrounded by the dead. I remember a tunnel filled with snarling Walker-actors leading to a supposed sanctuary called Terminus. It was so immersive, I needed to delve deeper into this world. About 8 episodes into the show, Rick and Daryl gut open a walker to see if it may have eaten a missing little girl named Sophia. My dad walked in during this scene, stopped in his tracks, and asked to rewind the scene. Immediately, I started the show over and we watched every episode together, the show being able to transcend language barriers. Having grown up in the era of the classic monster movies, this was right down his alley. Years later, when the season 6 finale aired, I remember /everyone/ talking about this phenomena of a show, collectively holding our breaths for 6 months to find out what would occur in Neganās line up. It might sound silly but this show is more than a horror zombie show. Itās about survival and it uses the lens of the dead to show us the things we take for granted today, being alive. The things we can in fact improve on. The walkers become the least anyoneās worries quickly. The comics were amazing, the show just as much, and it will be bittersweet to see this story come to an end. It never let up. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClNTC54rvEj1pc2lDP84-y6Nr7B_WC83dYRnxw0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
