⤳ Having been on her own since she was 15, she tries to be self sufficient and had a habit of pushing away others for a long time due to having lost so much before joining the Scions. She is quiet, but passionate. She feels and cares deeply for others, even strangers and loves to help. She is often serious but enjoys being silly when allowed, doesn’t mind a reckless endeavor or two. Optimistic because she had to be, then optimistic because she wanted to be.
Habits
⤳ Takes great care of her appearance, with regular baths and detailed skin/hair care.
⤳ Plays music when alone or for those close to her. A bard at heart, often she’ll sing for dragonets in Sohr Khai.

Detailed Background/Story History

~Past~
Born in a small remote village in Dalmasca near the Golmore forest, she grew up as the only elezen child around. Though her parents were loving, she often felt lonely. She had to deal with the fact that under Garlean rule, the only other Elezens she saw besides her parents were considered “enemies” and wondered if that made her inheretly bad, despite believing her parents to be good. She did her best to be “good” though she still often had to play alone. She took in the scorn from fellow villagers with grace despite her age.
At 15, Garleans raided her village due to reports of resistance activity. She was seperated from her parents and hid in the outskirts of the Golmore forest until she was safe. She looked for her parents until she had to flee further, traveling to the port city Valnain, where she snuck onboard a ship bound for Radz-at-Han. Once they landed she quickly snuck aboard another vessel headed for Eorzea.
Her parents were originally from Eorzea and she thought they might have fled back home. Half way there she was discovered and almost thrown overboard when a tempest hit and sunk the ship. Latching ontop fallen debris, she would be the only survivor. She washed up on the shores of Eastern Thanalan and nursed back to health by an elderly Lalafellin couple. They left for supplies one day and never returned. Aylia found their bodies, picked clean of valuables, on the path to the nearest town.
She first set out to her mother’s home city of Gridania, only to find them not welcoming to strangers and her own grandparents refused to acknowledge her, as they had disowned her mother for eloping with that "Ishgardian rascal". She then tried Ishgard, though her father hated Ishgard and only considered himself Coerthian due to his family legacy. She was turned away from the Gates of Judgement. At Camp Dragonhead a kindly knight told her about Adventuring and thus she decided to become an Adventurer (mostly to keep alive). Though no one told her she had to register with the Guild, not until much much later.
Her father taught her the lance, her mother conjury, but from a young age she took to the bow. Her grandparents in Gridania died during the Seventh Umbral Calamity.

Aylia’s father’s family came from an ancient noble family who refused to take part in the murder of Ratatoskr. It was her brood that they rode upon as the Crimson Riders, an elite small band of warriors that protected the Coerthan/Dravanian borders and took on special assignments from the King. However, their refusal saw the family stripped of their titles and exiled to the far corners of Coerthas. Her father’s family’s signature red hair is a dominant gene, not recessive, which is why they rode the red scaled brood of Ratatoskr. (Though her brood was mostly peaceful there were some among them that were warriors.)
She kept her father's family ring on her for all her adventures and took up goldsmithing to repair it as needed. The ring is over 1000 years old.
Her parents are not dead. It was Aymeric who, upon learning about Aylia’s history, funded the search and found them. Aylia was reunited at long last with her parents after the events of Endwalker.

Her mother, in her youth, fell for "the wrong type" of elezen and had a child, whom her parents (Aylia's grandparents) forbade her to keep. The child, Elfenne, grew up with her father, thus began her mother's growing unhappiness that lead to her running away with Aylia's father, Vallerin.
Aylia met her half sister, Elfenne, when she was searching for her parents and travelled to Gridania. At first they didn't get along, but after certain events during ARR, they grew close and began adventuring together, where they both met Haurchefant Greystone. While they had all gotten along (very) well, it was Elfenne who fell in love with the silver blue haired elezen. During Heavensward, after the Vault, Elfenne found out she was pregnant with Greystone's child.
Elfenne stayed with the Fortemps until the birth of Lionnet, Aylia's nephew. Once Elfenne was fit to do so, she joined Aylia once again, going inbetween adventures and Ishgard to be with Lionnet. Once Aylia traveled to the First, Elfenne helped the Scions and Estinien, growing close to the grumpy dragoon. Now both sisters are entangled with the best friend duo of Ishgard.
