Thrilled with this new find. Russian, late 17th early 18th Century with parchment and mica backing the lock plate. Bent wood construction that is "sewn" together with strips of wood. You can see the "stitches" on the front. An uncommon piece for sure.

Broke my own rule about only small-scale objects for sale. This was too hard to let pass. A rare giant coin operated Mammut brand "Grammophon", or disc phonograph. Missing the original coin op mechanism, which is typical because these were used in public halls and eventually everyone owned a phonograph and people were less incentivized to pay for using one. What makes it even more rare is large machines were broken down but also scrapped during the world wars. Not a Victrola, which is a brand name. #phonograph #gramophone #mammutgrammophon
