Leaning forward to rest her head on his chest, Tink just takes in his words for a moment. They were true, werenât they? Terence was indeed always right there by her side, letting Tink take the rein of things and decide how every situation will be handled. There wasnât a single time she could think of where he had pushed or prodded for anything more than what she was willing to give. And perhaps it was with that realization, or the fact that she had just been silently rejected by the boy sheâd spent her entire life loving, that caused the blonde to act. It wasnât logical, it wasnât smart, it certainly wasnât very nice - but it was what she needed in the moment. And the thought of what Terence might need didnât even cross her mind, for if it had perhaps she would have been able to see how horrible of an idea this was. But as it was, there was nothing stopping her from floating ever so slightly off the ground and placing her hand upon his cheek and leaning forward to press her lips against his in a solid and firm kiss. One that might read as if she felt the same, but was actually just a desperate act for someone to give her love and attention she might never receive from a certain Peter Pan.
He hadnât stopped long enough to consider before confessing his feelings how Tink might respond to them, but if he had Terence would never have imagined it would be with a kiss. This was everything he had ever wanted, but more than he expectedâwhich was why heâd never told her this sooner. He had been almost certain that the way he felt about Tink was exactly how she felt about someone else. There was just enough of a sliver of doubt in his mind that she might one day have a change of heart and return his feelings that he held out hope, and had never even tried to move his own heart from its passion towards her. But this kiss, which he returned softly at first, uncertain, and then more eagerlyâŠIt was what he could only have dreamed of. If he hadnât been so high on emotion, he might have been able to think about this more logicallyâto understand that Tink herself was acting out of her current state of vulnerability rather than a reciprocation of loveâbut he simply wasnât thinking anymore. He was feeling, and feeling so much. He waited for her to pull away first, and once she did, gave her a dazed smile, a quiet questioning, "Tink?"

Coming to a stop at a coffee shop she has never been to before, Candice wasnât expecting to come across an old but familiar face behind the counter as she walked through the doors. But as she was greeted with a bright smile, her eyes instantly lit up at the sight of himâ having not seen Terence since high school, and yet the second her gaze landed on that cute face of his, his name was instantly remembered by her. âTerence!â Candice called out, a clear display that she recognized him too as she made her way towards the counter with a bright smile of her own. âOh my gosh, Hi! It really has been a long time, hasnât it?â She asked, arms out as she almost reached over to pull the guy in for a hug when she stopped herself besides the counter instead. âIâve been amazingâ been doing amazing, and you? I didnât know you worked here? But like, then again, Iâve never been in here before but if I knew you would be here, I totally wouldâve came in way sooner.â
It was always nice to be remembered and greeted like an old friend no matter how much time had passed since theyâd last met. Terence mirrored Candiceâs motion of raising arms in greetingâless like an air hug than a gesture to say, Look at us! After all these years! Whoâd have guessed? âHey, better late than never.â He laughed. âJust donât be a stranger now that you know where to find me.â They continued to catch up, and Candice indeed didnât let herself become a stranger but continued to come in as a regular customer following that. When Terence saw her at the Halloween masquerade, he called out with the same level of excitement theyâd gotten in the habit of greeting each other with, arms thrown out. âCandice! Save a dance for me?â he asked.
âI didnât say âI love youâ to hear it back. I said it to make sure you knew.â
â
It wasnât like her to do this. No, Tink had a strong held rule that she did not cry. Not in front of anyone at least. It had been years since she could last recall crying in front of one of her friends or anyone other than her mother. The only saving grace there was in this moment was that it was Terence who had found her rather than one of the lost boys who would surely ask a million questions - none of which would she want to answer for any of them. Yet she knew she likely wouldnât be able to hold back, whatever it was that had forced her to confess everything to Peter still feeling strong within her as she sobbed into Terenceâs chest. It took a few moments, but she finally calmed herself down to just a few sporadic tears and was able to nod her head and follow him out towards the fresh air. âS-Sorry about this,â she sniffles, feeling so fucking stupid. âThat was pathetic and I didnât mean to drag you into it. I just â I need a few minutes then we can pretend like it never happened.â
âThere is nothing that you have to apologize for,â Terence told her, keeping a protective arm around Tinkâs shoulder which he didnât want to drop until and unless she brushed him off. The desire to be close to her was stronger than ever, and with her in such a state of low spirits he couldnât resist trying to comfort her with everything he had. âIâm here for you, you know? Whatever it is. Whether you want to tell me whatâs wrong or pretend nothing happened. Iâm always gonna be on your side.â He should have stopped talking there, usually he would have stopped talking there, but for some reason he couldnât. What he felt was too strong to suppress any longer and even if she didn't have anything to say back to him, she just needed to know. âI love you.â
While she didnât want to leave the party quite just yet, Tink knew she needed some time alone - away from the crowd and the music and Peter. After his less than stellar response to her confession, which god why did she even open her mouth? She still didnât know what had come over her or why the words had spewed out as if of their own magical accord. But either way, she just needed a breather. Before anyone else saw her feeling this way, on the verge of tears. But before she managed to make it to one of the exits or balconies, she was stopped. By someone who usually always knew how to cheer her up but right now the blonde didnât want to deal with that. But rather than brushing his concern off like she wanted to, like her head was screaming at her to do, one look up at Terence only made the pain in her chest amplify. âNo,â she admits, voice shakier than normal as a few tears started to well up in her eyes. Without thinking, she simply acted and threw her arms around him in a tight hug as she buried her head into his chest, trying her best to stop the crying before it got any worse than this.
Terence knew in an instant that he had done wrong in asking whether she was okay. Having to answer the question itself seemed to break the dam for Tinkâs tears and she burst, hiding her face in his embrace. He should have let her slip from the room unnoticed to collect herself, thinking she would have preferred that to the chance of people seeing her cry like this, but he hadnât known she was that close to the edge. It was overwhelming, the heaviness in his chest over seeing her so sad, even as he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her close. One hand came up to smooth the hair on the back of her head comfortingly as he waited for her to be ready to pull away. He would lead her to the nearest set of doors, blocking her from most of the crowdâs view, and then he wouldnât ask her to explain why she was crying, because she never had to explain herself to him. Because he loved her. He loved her when she laughed, he loved her when she was angry, and when she broke down he wanted nothing more than to be the one who was there to put her pieces back together. And it hurt; it hurt to hold it in whether he was alone in this feeling or not. âTinkâŠLetâs get some fresh air.â

The party had already been pretty impressive, but Terenceâs enjoyment of the ball only seemed to skyrocket after he indulged in the refreshments. A passing thought flitted through his mind that he might have another situation on his hands of accidentally partaking in an edible like when heâd had one of Cubbyâs special brownies at that party last spring, but he wasnât too worried even if that were the case. The music was making him feel extra dancy, everyone he made eye contact with earned a smile, and the only thing that could possibly improve on his mood wasâTink! After an initial burst of elation at catching sight of her, he noticed the look on her face and concern stole any other thought from his mind. It pained him to see Tink looking so downâphysically, there was an ache in his chest as if his heart had swollen too big for his rib-cage. He was at her side in an instant. âHey, Tink. You okay?â
For as smart of a gal as Teresa Bell was, she was also a bit of a fucking idiot. Especially when it came to her love life, on so many different levels - this time being how completely oblivious she was to Terenceâs feelings for her. As far as Tink was concerned, the two were just best friends and that was the only thing between them. So sharing a bed seemed like absolutely no big deal - it was something she did with the lost boys all the time, after all. What was the difference between those boys and Terence? So when he agrees, she simply grins and nods as if itâs fully settled. âWell, I should warn you Iâll probably cling to you like a koala in the middle of the night. Iâm a cuddler,â she warned with a teasing tone, not thinking anything of the comment or potential of being snuggled up against him. Floating over to the bed, without any hesitation she climbed right on in and waved for Terence to join her with a grin. âCome on, I donât bite, I promise. Unless youâre into that.â Another joke that she had no clue would potentially mean more to him than it did to her.
Terence didnât consider himself a very dramatic person, but she was killing him. There was no way Tink knew what she was doing to him, the mental torture he was putting himself through simply from her telling him that sheâd likely be snuggling up to him all night. By the grace of all magic on the island, he wasnât even thinking anything impure until she made a quip about biting, but that comment made it impossible to avoid imaginingâŠNo, he was blocking it out. Imagining Tink as an actual koala, cute and innocent. It was, in fact, totally okay to make suggestive jokes with oneâs friends. Unless that friend was secretly in love with you and growing increasingly convinced that he was taking advantage of your ignorance of that fact to sleep alongside you. Having already agreed to it, though, and more afraid of revealing his feelings by making a big deal out of not getting in her bed, Terence followed her. He settled in facing away from Tink, responding in a somewhat teasing tone himself, âAs long as I get to be the little spoon.â

She stared at him with a blank look on her face. The fact he still wasn't picking up on all the queues she'd been dropping was getting exhausting. It was always like this with Tinkerhell and her friends. They were in their own little bubble and forgot that not everyone wanted company. Vidia closed the book in front of her and looked up at Terence with a sickly sweet smile. "Oh, excuse me, I'm sorry. Did I come off like I didn't want to talk?" The dark-haired girl held the smile for only a moment before it fell back into its place in a frown. "Good, because that's exactly what I want. I don't see why it's any of my business anyway, it's not like I'm friends with any of you." Whatever problems the other fairies were facing didn't seem to affect her though the concern of the hunters always lingered in the back of her head.
While Terence generally considered himself a very patient personâeven more forgiving than most, heâd go so far as to sayâthere were a few people who could test the limits of his kind nature. One in particular who, no matter how much of an effort he made to be polite towards her despite his best friendâs mutual contempt with her, she returned every attempt with hostility. It was tiring existing in the same space as Vidia sometimes, but no matter how she acted, Terence wasnât going to let her attitude make him lose his temper. âIâm not asking to be friends, but a little respect would go a long way,â he replied with a forced smile of his own. He heard it as the words came out of his mouth, how she would take his response as patronizing, and closed his eyes to steel himself for her almost certain incoming vitriol. âI just mean that weâre all fairies at the end of the day. If something affects one of us, we should all be concerned.â

âMy mother would kill me if she finds out I let you take the couch,â she argues, standing up from said piece of furniture and crossing her arms over her chest as she stares down at the boy. In truth, Tink hardly cared who actually slept where - but what she said was true. Sheâd be a dead fairy if her Mary Bell caught Terence sleeping on the couch while the blonde happily enjoyed her own bed. âOr you could just share my bed with me. But only if you promise me you arenât a snorer. I canât take sleeping with someone who snores, Iâve done it before and I wonât go back. Not even for you, sorry.â It was an offer that she didnât really think much of - most people who spent the night at her place just slept in her bed with her, be it her friends or a hook-up. But she hadnât been sure if Terence would feel exactly the same way. Or if heâd be uncomfortable or weirded out by her having no problem sleeping beside him.
Terence tried to hide his smirk as she stood up and crossed her arms decisively, as if her word settled the matter (which, honestly, it did in every situation when it came to him.) All five foot zero inches of Tink were very intimidatingâat least until Terence stood up himselfâbut he wasnât going to make her argue any more. âOkay, okay,â he conceded, palms up in defeat. âNo couch for me. But Iâm not kicking you out of your bed, so if youâre okay with sharingâŠâ Was he okay with sharing? He was so solution-oriented, he didnât even stop to consider what he was agreeing to until halfway through agreeing to it. Was it okay for him to share a bed with Tink? The not-so-platonic feelings he harbored for her would suggest otherwise, but then it might be weirder to refuseâat the end of the day they were friends, they could sleep next to each other once without issue. Terence shrugged. âIâve never been told that I snore.â That was as much as he could promise; heâd never exactly been awake to observe himself snoring or not.
"Why don't you stay the night? I'll take the couch." -- tink
While the base of it was an offer Terence would never refuseâstaying over at Tinkâs place meant they could wake up and continue their hang-out at least as long as coffee and breakfast in the morning; and heâd never tire of her company or shy away from taking up as much of the time as she offered himâthere was no way he would be letting her sleep on the couch just to accommodate him. âHey, sleep in your own bed! Iâll be fine on the couch,â he countered. âIf you try to take the couch, Iâll just sleep on the floor anyway, so thereâs no use trying to be hospitable...Well, I suppose you could toss me an extra blanket if you have one.â

colincubsâ:
Terence had already insisted before that it was no big deal, but of course Cubby still felt a little bad. The least they could do was joke about it now that it was over though. Besides, it wasnât only Terence that Cubby had that situation with â Michael Darling also fell victim to eating a laced brownie without knowing at first. Cubby sure learned his lesson that night to be more careful with edibles. He began to lead Terence to the area that he described. âItâs not far from here. Just watch your step!â
~
âOkay, but if youâre bringing me into the woods to murder me, just know that Iâm gonna have a hard time forgiving you for that,â Terence joked as he followed Cubby through the trees. He continued to watch his step over exposed roots, rotten logs and other potential tripping hazards; this seemed less like a designated trail or even a well-beaten path, more like a route known only to those who had traversed it before. Terence became certain that this was a secret lost boy spot he was being let in on.
imatinkerâ:
âNo way. We could do it,â she argued, despite knowing he was perfectly right. She would get bored. In fact, with each moment that passed where she felt less and less annoyed and upset over the entire situation with Slightly and Huey⊠Tink found herself starting to get a bit restless instead. But out of pure stubbornness she refused to let that show, determined that she could make it at least a bit longer up here. Until hopefully Terence would be the one to decide they should head back to the party, so she wouldnât have to give in.
Maybe it would help if she layed back, which was exactly what she did, dragging Terence down with her and shuffling even closer so she could rest her head upon his chest with her hand settled over his heart. âI could last up here at least until it rains,â she decides, compromising to at least that. Her eyes glance up at him as she offers a small smile before they close once more. It felt nice, just being here at peace with one of her best friends in the entire world. Maybe being stuck in just this one spot forever wouldnât be as awful as she had started thinking - maybe she could deal with the boredom thatâd come along with it, if it meant she didnât have to deal with any additional drama or pain ever again.
~
âSure we could,â he humored her, giving in practically immediately as he knew they both knew she was full of it. There was no reason to argue or sheâd just dig her heels in further and keep fighting out of sheer stubbornness. As cute as it could be when she got like thatâthough it wasnât always when the matter was bigger than how long she was capable of hiding from a partyâTerence would much rather relax and enjoy this moment of serenity as long as it lasted. He let her pull him down to lay back on the roof, trying again to control his heart rate with the sudden increased proximity as she laid her head on his chest. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. âOkay. When it rains, weâll go back inside.â The sky was completely cloudless. Terence hoped it stayed that way.
@colincubsâ (continued from here)
"Not as dangerous as eating a weed brownie without realizing," Cubby couldn't help but tease, chuckling. He still felt a little bad about that, but Terence didn't seem to care, and they all had fun in the end! "Trust me, no danger here. This path just leads to a cool little forest area, I wanted to show it to you!"
âThat? No big deal,â he replied with a laugh. Cubby already knew their little party mishap was water under the bridgeâat this point it was turning into more of an inside joke than anything else. Terence sure would be asking the younger boy if there was marijuana in anything he offered him from now on just to get a laugh, even if had no real concerns of the same thing happening again. âAll right then, lead the way. We need to rebuild my trust in you,â he teased.
