Day 7: Pueo (Asio flammeus sandwichensis)

Hii!! It's been a while huh

I was in exam period, soo I couldn't upload photos of the next bird. But here it is, the Pueo!!

I learned how to needle felt on amigurumis!!, and this technique was quite helpful because I wasn't going to be embroidering the details of the face. Oh, and it's also the first amigurumi bird that can properly stand up.

second batch!!

The Hawaiʻi ʻākepa (Loxops coccineus) and Alae keʻokeʻo (Fulica alai)

For the first one I tried to make the proportions more rounded and it looks so cute. ^w^

And for the second one I made the body bigger in relation to the other times, and the feet look wider like the real bird, so until now it is the bird I am most proud of.

Hii, I'm crocheting the birds from the Avian August!! I ummm started a little late (around August 12th), but I've had a lot of fun and I hope to finish the whole list even if it takes me two whole months.

Here are the first two!

‘I’iwi (Drepanis coccinea) and Laysan Albatross (Phoebastria immutabilis)

With the first one, the 'I'iwi, I was experimenting with the size I wanted to make the amigurumis, I had no idea how to make such small details with few stitches, In fact, the legs ended up longer than I wanted. But more or less this is the approximate size, Plus, they are smaller amigurumis than the ones I usually make, so I'm learning new crochet techniques.

The second one, the Laysan Albatross, was very entertaining to make, it almost looked like a seagull until I put the eyebrows on it, oh and I'm also making the bodies a little more pointy on the tail with slightly shorter legs.
