time is money as they say. hey chat, so, super cool fun awesome announcement- I'll be posting the prequel that revolves around these two on ao3. For now, I think they deserve proper introductions- thank you to @ariartcor for his wonderful art seen on the right. The Timekeeper, better known as Briar Charon, is the Ancient of Time. This is one of two Ari characters which exist in TERRA NOVA. Briar lives in the small town of Northwick, located in the region of Sinopa in a clock tower that's somehow been attached to a quaint little house. It's quiet, serene, and everything a man could ask for. On the other hand, one of his closest colleagues, The Avatar of Fortune is everything that is not quaint, quiet, and serene. Faust Aceves is the third Avatar of Fortune to exist in the New World. He's set up base just south of Northwick, Sinopa in Plateado, Argentum- a strange tribute to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and every hotshot city out west. These images, as of now, are their canon designs to be seen within the concept and the future visual novel. ♥♣♦♠ It's 131 degrees in Argentum, and it's been that way for a while.

THE ANCIENTS ARE THOSE DEEMED BY TERRA, THE IMMORTAL OF THE KNOWN, TO REPRESENT CONCEPTS LARGER THAN THE WORLD ITSELF. THEY WILL SURVIVE EVEN IF HUMANITY DIES OUT.

WHAT DETERMINES AN ANCIENT?

The filter of Ancients, as determined by @moth-yknowtheartist and @petit-pierrot , is "If Humans Exist, Would The Avatar Still Be Around?"

"If humans were not to exist, would the avatar and how they interact with their role be extremely changed, perhaps even greatly lessened? If so, I don't think they'd be an ancient."

THE AVATARS ARE THOSE DEEMED BY TERRA TO BE CAPABLE ENOUGH TO REPRESENT CONCEPTS WITHIN HUMANITY ITSELF.

THEY WILL NOT SURVIVE IF HUMANITY FALLS.

WHAT DETERMINES AN AVATAR?

The filter of Avatars, derived from the Filter of Ancients, is "Would the Avatar cease to exist in the event of Human Extinction?” [Dev Note!] Avatars can be frequently replaced as long as humanity exists; they're easy to kill, while Ancients are impossible to kill.

MANMADE CONCEPTS, OR FRAGILE CONCEPTS THAT DEPEND ON HUMANITY’S EXISTENCE, CREATE AVATARS. The general term “Avatar” is used to refer to both “Ancient” and “Avatar” alike—it’s like saying “pop/soda” for any sort of carbonated drink. Humans coined this term when they began to notice that the group Terra had gathered long exceeded their supposed “expiration dates.”

Y’know when I said that someday I’d infodump about this project? Yeah, I follow through with those plans.
