Texas couple discovered a shockingly racist clause in the deed for their new home

Maggie Rios and her fiancé Fidel Simmons were preparing to sign the paperwork for their new home in San Antonio, Texas, recently when Rios noticed something strange in the house deed: a clause stating that only white people are allowed to live in the house — except in the “domestic servant’s quarters.”

“No lot, site, structure or dwelling, with the exception of bona fide domestic servant’s quarters shall be used or occupied by any person, or persons, other than members of the Caucasian or White race,” the clause reads.

Both Rios and Simmons were appalled and at first questioned the validity of the document. Because of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, any race based covenant restrictions are not enforceable in the United States.

Honestly, whenever I hear of how black people were treated in America, I get unbelievably angry. How can people be so unfair? And everybody wonders why black people just can’t let the past go…. America refuses to apologize and in some cases won’t even acknowledge what happened.
