2019 World Figure Skating Champions Sui Wenjing / Han Cong → Rain, In Your Black Eyes
When the Moulin Rouge! music started, they didn’t move for about five seconds, staring at — almost through — each other. They were building tension, setting a palpable tone of burning, dark passion. Slowly they started stroking, in a purposeful circle, almost like two animals of prey gauging each other. Then Tessa pivoted and leapt blindly backwards, locking onto Scott’s hips, like a puppet being tugged by its strings. And it was on: the culmination of two years of laser-like focus.

After GPF I realized that Gadbois gave P/C and H/B the exact same one foot step sequence: RFO-Rocker/RBO to RBI Change of Edge/RBI-Counter/RFI-Bracket/RBOIO Change of Edge/Double Twizzle. It’s the same 4 difficult turns for every team (Rocker, Counter, Bracket, Double Twizzle), so the sections will all be similar, but omg Gadbois gave P/C and H/B the turns in the same exact order, with the same exact free leg movement, and same exact arm movements aklsdfjalskfdjskdflj.

kingopain: The process of Reconditioning starts with understanding how the body moves fundamentally. Breaking down movement so we can see where things movement qualities might not be optimal or even available. Clarifying where there are hardware and software issues. But the big job of Reconditioning is connecting the dots with what we’ve found, with what the client does with their body. We need to contextually examine movement qualities and to do that, we need to know what the client actually requires from their body. So we do video analysis, specific demand analysis needs analysis, and in some instances, we ask the client to demonstrate exactly what they need to do! The solutions become simple when we better understand the problem, and understanding the movement problem requires a better understanding of the REAL movement! Like this stuff?
