This scene was one of my absolute favorites on the show. Tommy finally achieved his dream of a legal pitch and had the Shelby family on the way to legitimacy for the first time ever. The world was his oyster, and the pure joy and pride on his face was like the sun beaming down on cold, dark Small Heath. All Tommy ever wanted was to drag his family out of poverty and his love and loyalty to them ran deep. I often imagine what would have happened had he and the entire Shelby family not been betrayed by Grace. I will never understand why she continued to report to Campbell after it was crystal clear he had no intention to sell the guns to the IRA. And the ultimate betrayal to Ada by having her husband ripped from her on the night she gave birth to their son due to Grace was devastating. Tommy Shelby was a man full of hope and determination and one of the best written characters on TV.
