Upon the Eastern Sea of AtmaâZae, and underneath seemingly permanent and highly acidic rainwater produced by a nearby volcanic plume, a new monument recently arose from the depths of the Deep Dark. Unmistakably constructed by the horned dragons from far beneath the waves, this single tower is isolated from the mainland and an alien sight for those who have neglected ancient history.

Hello. Itâs Thursday. Getting my art post up for the week. Experimenting with colors as usual. Trying to limit the amount of colors is outside my comfort zone.
Have a good day and a great weekend ahead.

The Ruins of Archaenimo - Animated painting
Slouching infernally in a once-rivered valley just Northeast of Mount Eden, scraps of what was the most populated and technologically advanced city in the Realm persist in a lake of fire and perpetual lava flow. Where once stood nearly 80,000 blocks of densely packed skyscrapers, powered by geothermal steam and the energetic focus of helix-shaped plasma infused crystals, there is now only a river of hot red igneous rock and twisted molten metal.
Hey Y'all,
Welcome once again to Christabel's World. It's no Disneylandđ°, I'm sorry to say - it doesn't have rollercoasters or any of that stuff - but it's far from all the armed conflicts in the world, which I'm soooo grateful for. As for what's going on, it's almost warm in London at the moment, so I'm starting to drink milkshakesđĽ¤instead of hot chocolateâ, and my gf and I are spending more time in the great outdoors đłđ˛. Our apartment isn't far from Regent's Park, so that's our go to place. They have ducklings there at the moment and I đ sitting by the lake, papping them đˇ. That said, I spent most of last Saturday indoors at the British Museum, which is one of my fave places. I'd totally recommend it if you haven't been. It sounds clichĂŠd, but it really is a doorway to the past, packed with relics of ancient civilisationsđď¸âąď¸. I took a ton of photos on this latest visit and came away with a few story ideas, which I'm hoping to have a chance to work on real soonâď¸Â My gf gallantly kept me company for the first few hours, but she isn't as enthusiastic about sarcophagi and statuesđż as I am for some strange reason, so she slipped away to do some shopping in the end. Then later on, she gave me a fashion show of some of the things she bought đđ đ§Ł, which was super fun.
This weekend we're thinking of checking out Le Chat Noir, a new night-club based on the original Parisian club of the same name, featuring scrumptious food, magic, comedy and dance. We might not make it, because it's damn expensive, but I'm excited anywayđ¤Š, and it's inspired me to post another shot of me cosplaying the greatest showgirl in comics... ZATANNAđŞ I'm sans my tail coat here, so there's more of a casual vibe than the other ones I've shared... like I'm kicking back after a strenuous show. It's a bit more sultry toođŕžŕ˝˛ŕžŕ˝˛ I was channelling pictures I've seen of cabaret stars of the past and think I've kind of captured the look. It's definitely one of my top pics of the shoot. If you're feeling it too, don't forget to đand âł.Â
Have a charmed weekend, Christabel â¤ď¸đ§Ąđđđđ ko-fi.com/christabelq instagram.com/christabel.simpson deviantart.com/christabelq

Dear listener, Iâll tell ya, it sure is difficult to locate new music that is genuine, passionate and entertaining these days. And while Iâm 100 % sure that new releases by popular artists like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift will cure most forms of terminal cancer and bring a lasting peace to the ideologically warring nations of the world⌠I still canât help but desire FAR MORE in qualitative standards from modern music. I donât know about you, but I want something totally fresh and terribly original. I want to uncover a sound that makes me feel like thereâs still a small flicker of creativity out there. But⌠WHAT IS THIS? A campy metal music video featuring a red headed battle-babe wielding a comically large bastard sword!? Lyrics that DONâT make me want to perform instantaneous seppuku!!? Songs and albums that actually attempt to tell an interesting story rather than wasting everyoneâs time with lame ass diss tracks and sappy breakup ballads!!!? Sweet googly moogly, I am elated to bring you audio by Castle Rat this week. Folks, this is METALLIC FOLKLORE, and it is a pleasure to share it with you. Smash play on WOLF I from their 2025 album The Bestiary, and if you happen to dig it, join me for even more below.
Hailing from Brooklyn, NY and sporting one of the most inventive musical angles Iâve seen in the last half decade, this is a heavy metal band with a medieval twist. I had actually discovered this group back in 2022 and while I found their shtick to be fascinating, they were clearly still developing their style, and I just didnât think 2024âs Into the Realm was quite HARD ENOUGH to hold my interest for very long. Just a week ago, YouTubeâs algorithm informed me of their newest tunes and music videos, both of which were a marked improvement in evolving sound, spellbinding effectiveness and an even more raucous noise that matches the spirit of even the most culturally epic doom metal works of yesteryear (i.e. anything by early Black Sabbath, RIP Ozzy Osbourne, without you music like this wouldnât even exist). This is doom metal with a fantasy backdrop infused into its DNA, and while some similar artists have certainly tried this formula before, this act comes with a uniquely strong lady lead, not merely vocalizing but SINGING her way through the motions of a self-crafted tall tale. Castle Rat is fronted by the very lovely Riley Pinkerton who has a great look, a powerful and gorgeous voice, talent with the rhythm guitar and song writing talent beaming out of her ears. In the few interviews I have read with Ms Pinkerton, she alludes to the fact that she used to study and write her own folk music, the building blocks of which are easily transmogrified into a heavier sound with the same mythical tone. She, along with her band mates, turn live shows into something of a theater production; they all dress up and assume the roles of the Rat Queen, a druid, a count, a plague doctor and an evil and sexy Rat Reaperess. Their mission statement is to âexpand and defend the realmâ, which naturally leads to endless possibilities for overarching lore and branching storytelling options for the foreseeable future. This is modern music that is simply a hell of a lot of fun to listen to, and their music videos are crammed with outdated aesthetics making them feel like a TV presentation from the 1980âs. Their vids are jam packed with some of the nerdiest LARPing Iâve seen outside of an actual outdoor D&D session, and I promise it is an absolute visual spectacle that is truly glorious and at times hilarious to behold. If these weirdos are ever playing live in my area in the future, Iâll gladly pay top dollar to stand in the front row and marvel at the staged sword fights, high quality storytelling and all the effort that goes into making this group unforgettable and distinctly charismatic. Just below youâll find another little metal ditty called WIZARD. Smash play, enjoy and Iâve got plenty more music on the way to tickle your no-no place in 25â.
Watching their recent music videos gave me +20 to my MP and +1 to my WIS modifier. While I canât stand the state of modern music in general, itâs quirky and interesting bands like this that give me the faintest of hopes that you will still be able to find gold and diamonds in the rarest of niches. Addendum (05/02/26): This was my most popular music post all year long. I think I did a serviceable write-up for my recommendation and a couple of people on Tumblr contacted me through DM and told me this post was their introduction/most notable re-introduction into modern American metal. One small correction; I've listened to more of CR's catalog since the original posting and concluded that this is more akin to power metal⌠not so much doom metal. I've added their most recent music video, SIREN, to this post. Smash play and enjoy, dear listener! I don't think there will be much, if any, in the way of musical posts moving forward on this page.

Orcaspiere - Animated painting
Dangling off the permanent low tide of the southwestern sea, far Northwest from the Ruins of Tyralinthian there is a 550-year-old shoreside beacon. It is a 70-story tall glass, steel and silver tower recently and rapidly populated by tens of thousands of survivors from both the land and ocean. These are the mechanical and magickal remains of what was the only hydroelectric sea wall dam of AtmaâZae. This place once reliably powered approximately 55% of the western continent by way of underground cables which extended High North and into the icy heart of the Frozen South.
