Hey fellow Tumblrs, welcome to my little corner of the community. I'm Christabel (Chrissy to my friends) and I'm a writer. I started writing at school and have been doing it ever since. I've written a bunch of stories and poems, but so far, only two have been published (😔). As soon as I sell anymore, I'll let y'all know... once I'm done with the excited squealing. I'll also be sharing pics of me cosplaying. If you like the cosplay stuff, please consider supporting me at ko-fi.com/christabelq. I'd be super grateful. My other interests include live performance (seeing and creating), music, ancient Egypt and dressing in black. I live in London with my gorgeous girlfriend and our black cat.
Another Tank Girl cosplay shot starring lil old me and my rocket launcher. As you can see, this one is kind of cheeky, and no, the logo isn't a permanent fixture. I ❤️ cosplay, so there's definitely more to come. You can also find me at ko-fi.com/christabelq
This Trilobite Tuesday, let’s scuttle over to the Parker Quarry—a renowned trilobite-bearing site located in Georgia, Vermont. As early as the late 19th century, American paleontologists examined specimens from this location’s Lower Cambrian layers. However, by the mid-20th century, it was believed that the Parker Quarry had been exhausted by overzealous digging or simply lost to modern development.
In 2012, a small team of determined trilobite enthusiasts studied old reports regarding the site's possible location and commenced a detailed investigation. After more than two years, an outcrop of what was believed to be the original Parker Quarry was discovered—located squarely in the midst of an active cow pasture. The specimen pictured here, a 2-in- (5.08-cm-) long Elyx americanus, was uncovered amid loose Cambrian debris during the search for this famed location.
