Valentine is actually...pretty artsy??
Before I start, I can not be bothered with pictures so you will have to search them up (if you want). Anyways
SO, Yk the weird zig zags on vals coat, those red-pink ones. I always found them super weird and inconvient, especially for his character design and where they're placed. When I went to re-design him I originally thought of just getting rid of them in total and then it hit me.
Who else has a zig zag pattern on their outfit? Frankie. Where the white shirt meets the plaid and on her collar. I'm not sure whether its canon or a popular fan theory, but, isn't that to show the outfit's been handmade? the zig zags represent stitches so she or someone else made her outfit, like how she was made.
I went to search up other characters and never saw the zig zags on their outfits. Clawdeen? nope, Draculaura? nope. Huh, weird. (If there is any other characters with the zig zags dont be afraid to add it on or say smth abt it)
And let's talk about the placement of the zig zags on Vals coat. where the zig zag's was, was in places that you'd normally sew to sew a coat, and the one that most stood out was the zig zags where the sleeve meets the top.
It could be for aesthetics but it doesn't exactly fit his character design, as I mentioned the zig zags where weird. They were also 100% intentional because they were on his official art aswell.
AND another thing to add is that he had that coat over 400 years ago, during Draculaura's flashback and probably longer than that. (I'm aware she has the same vest, bear with me here) And that type of coat would defintely be hard to get in a time period like that.
So case in point, Valentine handmade his coat.
He probably used illusions to make the rose design shine or he found really REALLY shiny thread, (I know its an add on thing, forgot the word, but I like to imagine he hand embroidered it)
Also the fact it's never been mentioned ONCE shows he's most definetely embarrased by it.
I like to think he sews in his free time and would rather die than talk about it for whatever reason.
Also his vest in the 2-pack was crocheted, Mattels words themselves. So yes I am headcanon-ing that he can crochet.
