Charlie’s designs is meant to be a mix of grunge/rock, dark academia and some sort of artsy flare!! She has a walk man which she has with her always!! (The Walkman aspect was inspired from Max Mayfields Walkman in stranger things! ;D

layan redesign. due to the hostile nature of westerberg shes very afraid of talking to people let alone even DRAWING ATTENTION to herself. this leads her to hate making changes to her appearance that others might notice, so shes literally just been dressing the same her entire life bc shes too afrajd to branch out unlike charlie, who is the most fashionable geek/nerd/outcast in town.

basically, layan is an artist afraid of self expression, which i think would be funny for her character bc a lot of artists irl like to express themselves and their interests through things they wear or have lolll. but layans a fucking coward. and shes probaly the most outwardly out of every social outcast.+ bonus points shes afraid to express her arab heritage despite being encouraged to by her parents and missing her extended family and CUISINEEE omg i miss middle eastern cuisine that was axtually made in th middle east 😭😭😭😭😭😭 uuuuuu 😢😢😭💧💧💧😢😭😭💧😭 uhu u uu u u

J.D. was helping clean up the classroom that A.V. Club was being held in with annoyance. He never enjoyed being in the goddamn A.V Club but at least they were done for the day at last. His mind had drifted to other places as he was moving the equipment he had been asked to when he heard a voice cutting through the static of his mind. Nice, someone else wanting to talk to him when all he wanted was to leave and get ice cream with his girlfriend.

He tilted his head up, a small “mmm” sound coming from his lips as he looked at the person standing before him. His mood immediately shifted upon seeing it was Charlie, a smile appearing on his face almost instantly.

It seems Charlie wanted to speak with him at last and about Veronica too none the less. Curious, indeed as he was planning to meet up with her after he finished cleaning up as it was. He never thought he’d see the day Charlie chose to speak to him again. He got it. She was still mad about what happened at the last school they went to together. He didn’t understand why, nothing ended up actually happening. All he had ever been was kind and understanding to her in her time of need. He had been there. He understood what she was going through better than most of their classmates ever could and this was still how she acted after everything? Like he was to be avoided at all cost? That he was one of those “ticking time bombs” Ms. Fleming warned them about finding. He did know a thing or two about explosive use as Charlie knew too well by now. Could they stand to not fight anymore please? They always did make such a good team…

But, the scars of the past never appeared to go away for Charlie like it did for him. She never had to move on as he did every time he had to move out of state again. What he does in one state is left behind in six weeks, best to not dwell on each one too much. Out of sight, out of mind, you know. The flame of their former friendship burned so bright it burned everything in its wake until there was nothing more than ghosts and ashes between them.

“My my, come to speak again?” He teased her before leaning on the nearby wall, his foot shifting slightly. “Here I thought you lost your taste for me and yet here you are accusing me of something right off the bat and for what then?”

He crossed his arms and titled his head to the side, that smug grin growing wider.

“Jealous?”

It wouldn’t surprise him if she was, after all he had never bothered with other people before. When they went to school together, it was just him and her for the most part but, now he had Veronica. He had moved onto someone else as she evidently didn’t want their friendship to last any longer so why deny himself Veronica? Besides, Veronica was special, different from anything he had ever known before. Charlie was a friendly candlelight that burned in the dark, Veronica was a bonfire of love that kept him warm in the cold. They could never truly compare, not that Charlie ever would. She didn’t even seem to want anything to do with him until now…

Charlie rolled her eyes at JD’s remark.. She nervously began tapping her foot, and snapped one of the lollipop sticks she had in her pocket.

“You wish, asshole..” she said, lightly elbowing him in the shoulder

She sighed, “You’re such a prick you know that? God. I don’t even know why a part of me still considers us friends.. isn’t that just pathetic?” She said, putting her hand on her face.

It was true though, Charlie in her heart still considered them friends even after everything that happened. But she’d never forget that day.. Her mind wouldn’t let her forget it even as much as she tried to stop thinking about it. She wanted to believe that somehow JD would change. But that’s bullshit because she knew he’d never change. And YES she knew that JD was doing something behind the scenes because truly that’s who he was. Sure he was still a good friend but he had his concerning qualities to Charlie. But also why the FUCK would he think she’s jealous.. oh what NERVE! She’s literally friends with Veronica!! She’s just stating the truth, because Veronica hasn’t really gotten to know the true him yet. She had to warn her too, if what she thought in her mind was true then surely blood would be on both their hands. She had to stop him, or try to? Jesus Christ, so fucking what. Why did she care so much?!

Why was she still so fond of him after his twisted manipulation? She knew for a fact he was definitely doing the same to Veronica. For sure.. GOD what was his fucking problem?! GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HEAD!!! UGH!!

“Seems trouble is still in paradise then.”

J.D. puts his hands up in front of him in a mockingly defensive gesture before leaning away from Charlie. His expression teasingly pouty before he grins wider than before.

In spite of Charlie having been the one to approach him to have a conversation she appeared to be as stubborn as ever in her resolve. Though she was certainly being more jovial than the usual embittered demeanor from her. Call him an optimist, but he had been hoping this sudden forced proximity to each other again after what had happened at their last school could lead to a reconciliation between the two. Even in his hurry to try and forget, to remain apathetic as he packed up and got back on the road he hadn’t given up on her yet and didn’t want her to give up on him now.

She was the only friend he had ever had before Veronica, the only one that mattered at least. Like Veronica, she too didn’t see what he was trying to do for them both. That it was what had to be done and a part of him remains mad that her actions could’ve gotten them both sent to jail. Charlie had gotten cold feet and gave the world a free pass for what then? Her own peace of mind? He was sure her mind would be much clearer without all the filth contaminating the air around them both.

His face dropped at her saying she still considered them friends. His soul aching for those simpler times between them he had tried to convince himself never really mattered at all. He tilts his head and blinks, a small reaction to her words but a reaction none the less. But, he knew to get his head on straight and not dwell on his own feelings for too long for this was likely his only way back into Charlie’s life in whatever capacity she would allow for him to be. It was in both of their best interests to remain friends and he was more than willing to oblige and preserve their friendship even if she didn’t see why it was so necessary.

“No, it’s not pathetic at all.” He said quietly. “Sure, things weren’t the way we both wanted them to be but, ok. Ok…I’m sorry.”

His voice was dry and flat as he apologized, stepping closer to Charlie as he did so. It was almost as if he didn’t mean it at all. That he was just placating her. He wasn’t good at genuine apologies nor saw any reason for him to apologize for his actions. But, he was observant enough of human nature to know Charlie assumably wanted an apology from him to make herself feel better about still caring for him, in spite of society’s conditioning convincing her what he was trying to do was wrong. Even if he saw no issue in that in the first place. She really was making a mountain out of a molehill long forgotten by the rest of their former classmates by now. And if it helped her come back to seeing things his way? Fine, what harm could it really do? It works in his favor anyway.

“You know, it’s funny. I still think of you as a friend too…” He looks down at the floor, a small wince in his soft smile. For once, there was almost a crack of vulnerability in his voice but it was gone almost as fast as it had came.

Charlie’s eyes widened at JD’s response, she was awestruck for a few seconds then snapped out of it and looked back at him.

Her mind raced, wait he’s saying SORRY?! Charlie didn’t know what she was expecting him to say in response but that came as a shock to her. Maybe he is trying to change? Maybe, or maybe not. GOD CHARLIE HE’S PROBABLY MESSING WITH YOUR MIND AGAIN SNAP OUT OF IT!!! She wanted to listen to her conscience but she also didn’t.. What if really, he’s different now?

Charlie let out a chuckle but then her eyes softened, “Thank you, it’s nice to know maybe you have a heart after all eh?” She sighed.

“But that still doesn’t mean that I’ll forgive you that easily though, sure I appreciate it.. but I’ve learned things take time.”

She began shaking her leg nervously,

“You of all people should know it’s isn’t that easy. You really screwed me over Jason, And I still won’t forget that.. I need time to think…about this…” she said, looking down, towards the floor.

Does he really think things can be solved that quickly? With just a SINGLE apology? Let alone that the apology didn’t even sound that genuine, but she wanted to hope it was. But he did so much to her she still could feel the mental weight on her shoulders. But then she’d have to act like she’d forgive him eventually. He’d be a dangerous individual as a foe that’s for certain, but she didn’t want to be manipulated again. BUT SHE COULDN’T LET HIM GET TO VERONICA! Charlie couldn’t bare to think what JD would try to do to her… she had to play nice though because what else could you do with a wolf such as this one? He was precarious either way, always a risk- but Charlie used to like that. She was a rambunctious child after all. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt. However,If she got within his circle again maybe she could put together if he was planning something, anything. Even though she still had a feeling he was, she could really be sure her speculations were correct. Yes! That’s it! She’d play along for now, but as soon as she’s certain she’d catch him in the act.. but the tables could always turn on her, she’d have to be ready for that too.

He knew she did have a point. He wasn’t the best at forgiving people for crushing others himself either. He always was one to hold a grudge against those who were a plague to society. If anything, it was those type of grudges that lead to the extreme actions she gave up on him over. He didn’t see those as grudges, however. No, it was more like pest control, squashing the cockroach infecting human nature whose souls couldn’t seem to die off on their own. Making the world a more decent place for those who deserve to live in a decent world. He had never been as motivated to wash away the filth of the world as he was now that he had Veronica to protect. Purifying the world for the girl who was his whole world. Without her he would’ve never even believed in second chances or that the world was worth saving at all.

Though even he could admit, this was certainly a step in the right direction, albeit a slower one than he would’ve preferred. He knew Charlie would forgive him eventually. They always do seeing as he hadn’t even done anything wrong to warrant needing to make amends. If it really helps her sleep at night to think he regrets what he could’ve done. If only she would just let him in again…

He presses his tongue to the inside of his cheek, his eyes quickly looking up at the ceiling before his gaze shifted back to Charlie.

“So, I see then…” He kicked the air with his leg in frustration and disappointment, that cocky grin ruining any traceable sincerity in his words. “I suppose I just miss you. There’s been a distinct lack of rock music and art supplies in my life lately.”

“Ok. You’re mad and you need time. I get it.” He gestures at her. “I’ll wait for you if I must.”

She looked up, noticed his subtle actions and expressions as he talked. He seemed like he cared, Charlie could definitely tell he missed her company. WHAT?!…. She did genuinely think he maybe had some…kind of grudge at her for not going through with what happened at their previous school…Surely? God, Charlie get that out of your fucking head. It’s in the past!! BUT IT FUCKED WITH HER HEAD so much, after that her mental heath plummeted really fast…She had to stop looking far back on that and focus on the present, here, now. What did she want to do?

She scoffed at his response, “Is that so?…” Her face slightly lit up when he mentioned her signature (favorite) things… a slight grin appeared on her face.

She let out a deep sigh still grinning though,

“Well, fraid’ you’ll have to then....”

She straightened her posture, and then quickly side swiped her hair, shuffling through her pockets taking out a root beer lollipop and a mystery one tossing them to JD,

“Catch! I have to get going. I’m sure you couldn’t imagine how much art projects I have to get done, oh the procrastination!”

She said dramatically raising her arms up and down before , stepping out the door, running joyfully down the hallway to the outside doors.


WHAT WAS THAT?! Once she got out the school she stood still for a quick moment before pacing towards her car.. She shook her head hesitantly before jamming the keys into the ignition, mind racing again, and again… Was that happiness, did she really just show how she really felt?! Shit, shit, SHIT. She hated that she missed him so much.. he’s such a fucking HORRIBLE influence though, and she knew that… she knew that. FUCK, god he fucking got to her again didn’t he…She started laughing to herself, I’m such a fucking idiot…and drove off.

Her mind raced, wait he’s saying SORRY?! Charlie didn’t know what she was expecting him to say in response but that came as a shock to her. Maybe he is trying to change? Maybe, or maybe not. GOD CHARLIE HE’S PROBABLY MESSING WITH YOUR MIND AGAIN SNAP OUT OF IT!!! She wanted to listen to her conscience but she also didn’t.. What if really, he’s different now?

Charlie let out a chuckle but then her eyes softened, “Thank you, it’s nice to know maybe you have a heart after all eh?” She sighed.

“But that still doesn’t mean that I’ll forgive you that easily though, sure I appreciate it.. but I’ve learned things take time.”

She began shaking her leg nervously,

“You of all people should know it’s isn’t that easy. You really screwed me over Jason, And I still won’t forget that.. I need time to think…about this…” she said, looking down, towards the floor.

Does he really think things can be solved that quickly? With just a SINGLE apology? Let alone that the apology didn’t even sound that genuine, but she wanted to hope it was. But he did so much to her she still could feel the mental weight on her shoulders. But then she’d have to act like she’d forgive him eventually. He’d be a dangerous individual as a foe that’s for certain, but she didn’t want to be manipulated again. BUT SHE COULDN’T LET HIM GET TO VERONICA! Charlie couldn’t bare to think what JD would try to do to her… she had to play nice though because what else could you do with a wolf such as this one? He was precarious either way, always a risk- but Charlie used to like that. She was a rambunctious child after all. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt. However,If she got within his circle again maybe she could put together if he was planning something, anything. Even though she still had a feeling he was, she could really be sure her speculations were correct. Yes! That’s it! She’d play along for now, but as soon as she’s certain she’d catch him in the act.. but the tables could always turn on her, she’d have to be ready for that too.

J.D. was helping clean up the classroom that A.V. Club was being held in with annoyance. He never enjoyed being in the goddamn A.V Club but at least they were done for the day at last. His mind had drifted to other places as he was moving the equipment he had been asked to when he heard a voice cutting through the static of his mind. Nice, someone else wanting to talk to him when all he wanted was to leave and get ice cream with his girlfriend.

He tilted his head up, a small “mmm” sound coming from his lips as he looked at the person standing before him. His mood immediately shifted upon seeing it was Charlie, a smile appearing on his face almost instantly.

It seems Charlie wanted to speak with him at last and about Veronica too none the less. Curious, indeed as he was planning to meet up with her after he finished cleaning up as it was. He never thought he’d see the day Charlie chose to speak to him again. He got it. She was still mad about what happened at the last school they went to together. He didn’t understand why, nothing ended up actually happening. All he had ever been was kind and understanding to her in her time of need. He had been there. He understood what she was going through better than most of their classmates ever could and this was still how she acted after everything? Like he was to be avoided at all cost? That he was one of those “ticking time bombs” Ms. Fleming warned them about finding. He did know a thing or two about explosive use as Charlie knew too well by now. Could they stand to not fight anymore please? They always did make such a good team…

But, the scars of the past never appeared to go away for Charlie like it did for him. She never had to move on as he did every time he had to move out of state again. What he does in one state is left behind in six weeks, best to not dwell on each one too much. Out of sight, out of mind, you know. The flame of their former friendship burned so bright it burned everything in its wake until there was nothing more than ghosts and ashes between them.

“My my, come to speak again?” He teased her before leaning on the nearby wall, his foot shifting slightly. “Here I thought you lost your taste for me and yet here you are accusing me of something right off the bat and for what then?”

He crossed his arms and titled his head to the side, that smug grin growing wider.

“Jealous?”

It wouldn’t surprise him if she was, after all he had never bothered with other people before. When they went to school together, it was just him and her for the most part but, now he had Veronica. He had moved onto someone else as she evidently didn’t want their friendship to last any longer so why deny himself Veronica? Besides, Veronica was special, different from anything he had ever known before. Charlie was a friendly candlelight that burned in the dark, Veronica was a bonfire of love that kept him warm in the cold. They could never truly compare, not that Charlie ever would. She didn’t even seem to want anything to do with him until now…

Charlie rolled her eyes at JD’s remark.. She nervously began tapping her foot, and snapped one of the lollipop sticks she had in her pocket.

“You wish, asshole..” she said, lightly elbowing him in the shoulder

She sighed, “You’re such a prick you know that? God. I don’t even know why a part of me still considers us friends.. isn’t that just pathetic?” She said, putting her hand on her face.

It was true though, Charlie in her heart still considered them friends even after everything that happened. But she’d never forget that day.. Her mind wouldn’t let her forget it even as much as she tried to stop thinking about it. She wanted to believe that somehow JD would change. But that’s bullshit because she knew he’d never change. And YES she knew that JD was doing something behind the scenes because truly that’s who he was. Sure he was still a good friend but he had his concerning qualities to Charlie. But also why the FUCK would he think she’s jealous.. oh what NERVE! She’s literally friends with Veronica!! She’s just stating the truth, because Veronica hasn’t really gotten to know the true him yet. She had to warn her too, if what she thought in her mind was true then surely blood would be on both their hands. She had to stop him, or try to? Jesus Christ, so fucking what. Why did she care so much?!

Why was she still so fond of him after his twisted manipulation? She knew for a fact he was definitely doing the same to Veronica. For sure.. GOD what was his fucking problem?! GET OUT OF MY FUCKING HEAD!!! UGH!!

What’s your favorite colors to wear say, regarding outfits? I’m curious!! I like a lot of red, and probably black and whites!! Among so many other colors too. It also just depends on the day. Will say flannels are so fun to style.
