Coming Out PSA

when someone comes out to you, changing their labels for sexuality or gender, for fucks sake don’t make it about you

don’t make it about your religious beliefs

don’t make it about your comfort

don’t make it about your experiences with the person in the past

don’t assume the person is telling you because they like you

don’t make it about you at all

it’s not about you. it’s about them and the person was very likely absolutely terrified to tell you. making it about you makes them feel invalidated, upset, scared, doubtful and just overall like shit 

if you can’t handle someone else’s sexuality 1. get over yourself   2. do your fucking research on what its actually like to be queer (from the perspective of a queer person not some straight person or a religious organisation)   3. shut the fuck up.

if this is someone you care about put the effort in to grow up and make them feel comfortable and accepted. if you don’t care piss off and out of the person’s life 

may or may not be speaking from experience

Here’s to the kids..

who’s parents constantly make immature jokes at their expense, and don’t stop when asked to...

who are closeted and surrounded by “loved” ones making homophobic comments on a regular basis...

who’s parents don’t believe them when they say they’re transgender or non-conforming because “it’s just a phase”...

who are surrounded by conservative nut-jobs trying to justify their cruel beliefs and won’t listen to criticism...

who cannot wait to get a job or go to uni/college just to escape...

who dislike the people they’re supposed to love so much they want to run away and never look back.

hey there so this is my first post on this new blog. I have like five other blogs--only two of which have actual followers-- but I wanted to start this new one completely anonymously about teen life in the 10s-20s (My teen years are spread evenly across both decades).

so anywho a bit about me:

im female

just emerging from the closet (slowly albeit) as bisexual

im a gemini

im Australian born and bred

my favourite colour is yellow

i enjoy musicals, books, fangirling and music in general

so essentially I'm just a stock-standard geeky high schooler on tumblr at midnight!
