hello! are you looking for new music to listen to? tired of listening to the same three bands? great. we’re a dirtbag boyband from south london called bears in trees, and i’m gonna try n sell you on us.

we’re a bit like the emo kids at school who slowly but surely became kpop stans. we call ourselves a dirtbag boyband because genre is dead and we think it’s kind funny. each to their own, tho.

we don’t have a fancy marketing team or anything. just us four, writing songs abt gay bars and asthma attacks and house parties and climbing rooftops and trying to constructively process the loss of loved ones. we’re gonna keep trying our best. you can check us out on spotify here. and our inbox is still open if you have any questions - we still use tumblr in the year of our lord 2020, so make of that what you will.

for real though, it’s incredibly hard to be a musical artist right now but it’s free for you to reblog this. maybe you jam us, maybe not, but hopefully in reblogging this someone who hasn’t listened to us yet will find us and then it starts a chain reaction and then maybe someday we wont have to make these promo posts anymore because a big fancy label exec will do it for us. bu yeah, if you can reblog that means the world to a small artist like us.

Hey! Any tips on achieving a grunge style when you're broke?

Thrift stores are always a great way of getting more vintage grunge pieces. And it's more sustainable/better for the planet! You can also trawl the internet [ or this blog ;) ] to find outfits that use pieces you already own or similar.

last year, someone i love very much was in a really dark place. me and another one of my friends went to go visit him after he'd been admitted to hospital. on the way, we stopped at sainsbury's to buy him some snacks. we spent about five minutes there trying to work out if he was vegan or not. it was an odd moment - like damn, he's really gone through it - but what chocolate would he want? and would he prefer coke or lemonade?

when we got to the hospital i saw his mum, and i promised her i'd take care of him. we gave him the chocolate. he was okay. he's doing a lot better now, and i'm really proud of it. whenever i think it now, i think about wondering what chocolate he'd like. i think that's care.

it gets better isn't just about that though. it's also about mikey, who went through hell and high water and still finished his uni degree and linden, who's gonna write the next great novel. it's about the summer nights we'd spent crouched over my bathtub, dying each others hair. it's about the good memories, and i guess it's about getting better so that's what it's called.
