Colors were not the easiest thing to read - he never learned how to simply because he never would have to. Now those assumptions were proved wrong on the table before him. While the Overseers around him observed shapes, signs, and abnormalities, the younger Martin’s vision was inverted and revealed to him more than
they would know.
The freshly cut organ spilled blood upon the table, steaming with the great contrast in temperature. The stench was nothing much to fear, however, the priests’ worries were not of the smells but sights. What these readings revealed to them would be of utmost importance given the question at hand. The fate of an Empress was no such inquiry to be taken lightly. If her bodyguard sought reason to consult the Abbey, then her finest would do their best to deliver results.
Coby stared at the bleeding organ, reading what was presented, contrasting what the Void would show him, and concluding what could be deciphered. This Sight of his as valued by most and envied by others. As helpful as it could be, it tended to be more of a curse than a gift. Frosty eyes tore themselves from the organ and met the Royal Protector’s gaze as he entered. With stealth and grace, Corvo Attano was one to fear and marvel, even in his casual hours.
“You’re early,” the priest croaked, finding his voice at last. “You’re here for your answers, I take it. Well, they’re underway. All I ask is patience.”
Corvo, apprehensive at first to enter the Abbey for reasons that did not need specifying, stalked forward, his eyes dark, and demeanor darker. Corvo was not one for superstition, though with the outsider’s mark he typically thought of such being hypocritical. An icy gaze held Coby. Corvo had little in the way of knowledge over what this man did. Divination was a... strange concept and though Corvo wasn’t particularly fazed by the concept, he was hesitant at best.
A rumbling thunder of a voice came forth, accompanied by a small gesture of his left hand. “Patience is a virtue I learned in Coldridge, Oveerseer. I ask that you not break me of such.”
He was being unfair. Coby most likely had nothing to do with his tenure in Coldridge Prison, but it was getting more difficult for him to consistently turn a blind eye to the Abbey.
“Take all the time you need, but do not waste it. Do not take more than you need.” It pained Corvo to leave emily alone for so long. He worried, and if one was particularly observant, even more so than he, for Corvo could not hear it, they would recognize a certain urgancy and worry in his deep voice.
My game is so chaotic that it knocked out the Outsider.
There are few brave enough to laugh in the Outsider’s face.
"Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see."
A groan of disbelief. Rasped, butsomething.“Did the cowboy share with you thispick-up line?”
“Actually I have the unbelievable pleasure of coming up with that one myself.”
“Perhaps I can be. Do Overwatch agents get dental?”
“Most of the time. Unless you have no teeth, then perhaps you might need to discuss further.”
“Is that really such a common occurrence that you needed to specify?”
@thatdamnfoolcorvo
“For now, it does. I see no reason for us to open hostilities, however.”
“We shall see. Perhaps I will have Jack look into you. It may be good knowing your background. Perhaps you can be helpful.”
“Perhaps I can be. Do Overwatch agents get dental?”
"I've got you in my sights."
“And I you. But whether my shot will help or hinder you, remains to be seen, does it not?”
“For now, it does. I see no reason for us to open hostilities, however.”
“They are burning the whales.”
tfw your Void bf was the reason why the Empress died in the first place
A New Assignment
Corvo Attano had been conscripted by... well, she wasn’t entirely sure what it was that his client was, or what she did. Her name was Jessamine, some sort of scientist or CEO or something. Corvo’s job had been to protect her. And for months, he did just that.
It wasn’t until TALON had gotten wind of whatever it was Jessamine was doing that Corvo truly had to protect her. In these months, he and Jessamine had grown close, and soon, there was a third. Emily, they had called the little girl. Corvo’s life had been consumed by Jessamine and Emily, he loved them, they loved him.
But then Talon stole them. Jessamine had lain dead at his feet and Emily had been kidnapped. Perhaps they wanted her genius. Emily had excelled at her classes.
And then Talon framed him. Said or did something that put him on Overwatch’s list. Overwatch put him in jail for murdering Jessamine. Corvo didn’t speak much in those days.
But then someone broke him out. Now, he was in a Talon stronghold, the air shaft that he hid in brought him just above someone very dangerous.
Reaper.

「You killed her mother in front of her and sold her to a gang of murderous crooks. You think she’s fit for the throne? No.the girl Emily Kaldwin will have the mind of Delilah the First, who did not inherit everything she got, but came to power through the force of her own genius.」
