There is something about the thought of f/os smiling so fondly at you while they cup your face and gently wipe away your happy tears that really gets me. You get emotional over something, so overcome with happiness or love that you can’t help a few tears, and they give a soft chuckle, full of so much affection, before skimming their thumb along your cheeks, under your eyes. There’s something so tender in it, so caring, getting to see the way they look at you while they dry your tears for you.

Okay so I know this niche of the fandom hates Fit(-Fat) Tony and Donnie Fatso, but I actually like those episodes because I feel like it marks some change in Johnny's character.

Like in the later seasons, even if the replacement from Marion to FT isn't really canon anymore, you can still see that FT isn't just like older seasons Tony. He's crueler towards his men, more insecure and angry. It went from Marion, who was encouraging to Louie (telling him to "listen to his heart" or something gay like that), to FT yelling at Louie for a misunderstanding in prison. Whether or not you think of Fat Tony & Fit-Fat Tony to be the same character, there is a definite shift in how the old Fat Tony & new Fat Tony act.

I'd say that there is a more obvious shift for Johnny's character between the earlier and recent seasons. He might've not talked as much, but he was still loyal to Marion; he only started speaking and acting more when Fit Tony took reign. I feel like over time, Johnny grows to hate Fit Tony; maybe because he reminds him too much of Marion, or because of how sucky FT is as a boss. This resentment results in multiple (I say multiple like it's not two TnT) coups in Fat Blue Line & A Made Maggie.

This isn't to say I think that Fit Tony or the episode he's debuted in are good. It was definitely a choice to kill off a fan-favorite character and replace him with a identical cousin. I just wanted to point out how the writers inadvertently created a new dynamic in the mafia. Like imagine hating someone so much that you break out of your gimmick.
