more Anchorstar headcanons!! (because I genuinely can't stop myself)
- Philip and Howard can both drive, but Philip has practically banned Howard from driving because his road rage is so bad 😭 (he's a total backseat driver too, Philip has to tell him to stfu every time they drive somewhere)
- Angelique, Philip, and Howard all research pathophysiology (diseases and how to prevent/stop them) in the lab that Angelique founded (they research other sciences as needed for the betterment of life in general, but they mainly focus on diseases). But, in his spare time, Howard has taken to studying Astronomy again. He and Philip will, most nights, end up in the backyard where Howard will study the stars through his telescope and Philip will read or play his guitar
- Speaking of, Philip plays guitar! He's no Johnny Cash or anything, but he can play a good amount of songs. He originally learned so he could play his sister's favorite songs for her while she was bedridden. He kept with it because it reminded him of her, and now he'll sit on the back porch of his and Howard's home and softly sing, stealing glances at his love as he stares at the stars. Howard pretends not to notice, but he does. He'll sometimes quietly sing along to Philip's playing.
- If Philip's sitting anywhere with his legs dangling down, Howard will sit on the floor between his legs and rest his head on Philip's knee or thigh and wrap his arms around his calf. He loves laying on Philip in general, but this way is his favorite. It closely mirrors a follower kneeling before their superior, and Howard often feels that way. He'd never say it out loud, of course, but if Philip ever asked, Howard would literally kiss the very ground he walked on. He realizes this is. probably not the healthiest mindset, but he honestly doesn't care at this point, it's the truth. If he had to go through that hellish island again just for a single moment with his best friend again, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
- Howard's second favorite way to lay on Philip is when they're in bed or on the couch and he's laying on Phil's chest, especially when Philip's sleeping. He loves to listen to the steady drumming of his heart beat to remind himself yes, he is here, I have him back and I'll never let him go again
- Their traumas show very differently. Philip genuinely can't take looking at raw meat or blood without wanting to throw up for a while after he gets off the island, which in turn inadvertently turns him into a vegetarian. Howard will flinch hard if anything or anyone touches him without him knowing about it first, especially if it's somewhat dark. They cope in their own ways as well. Howard drinks somewhat regularly, not usually enough to get super drunk, but he usually has a drink or two each time he comes home. Philip is a chain smoker. He can go through a pack within two or three days, one day if it was a shitty day. He never smokes inside the lab or their house, but he constantly smells like an ashtray. It started when it was clear Katie wouldn't get better, and only got much worse when things got worse working for Dr. Morose. Those were the days he'd regularly go through a pack a day.
- Howard is on the leaner side, but he's not skinny skinny. he's got a bit of a belly and some fat in his arms, legs, and face. Philip, on the other hand, is a beefy boy. Definitely stockier and just naturally bigger than Howard in general. He's even got two or three inches on Howard height wise.
