This blog is for all things DID. I won't be naming other alters and will just refer to them by a letter or nickname.

hey systems I would advise you to keep a certain number of things out of your bio because OSDDID inherently says a lot about your past and triggers so there are certain details only your close friends should know, and not just anyone perusing the internet

your age - predators are more than happy to fake their age to match yours. Being young and plural are unfortunately traits prone to manipulation

your headcount - aside from assholes fakeclaiming you, people can take it and use it against you.

who your trauma holders are, and, more generally, the roles of your alters. it's basically telling abusers who to target and who to avoid

any information about your littles whatsoever. For all the world knows, you have none. same with who age regresses.

any system descriptors beyond DID/OSDD1/PDID/etc. the internet does not need to know if you have complex DID or something like that; it's your trauma.

what your triggers are. people will try to trigger you on purpose. this includes front triggers

all your other disorders, particularly personality disorders - abusers can try to make you dependent, "favorite" them, avoid others, etc.

These aren't rules, and there are obviously different situations that call for different levels of privacy. Just use your judgment: who can see this? anyone who came across my blog or people I friended on simply plural? trusted friends on simply plural? Systems are very vulnerable to further abuse because of their fragmentation and trauma mindsets. Don't let anyone take advantage of that.

Study on Alter Relationships within DID/OSDD/UDD Systems

Hello! I’ve recently been interested in what way the relationships between alters in my system present, and so have decided to run a study to see how things are for other systems. I also wanted to research possible factors behind why relationships between alters differ between systems, so I thought this study could provide some interesting information on the DID/OSDD community generally.

All responses are 100% confidential, and there’s a longer informed consent statement which you’ll see before you start the study. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes.

People who are eligible to take part in the study:

- DID/OSDD/UDD and other traumagenic systems. (You do notneed to be diagnosed, self diagnosed systems may take part.)

- Systems who apply to the above but do not have romantic or familial relationships in their system (Your response is still valuable!)

People who are NOT eligible to take part in the study:

- Endogenic systems or other system types who do not consider themselves to have DID/OSDD/UDD. (This is a study on how these relationships manifest in DID/OSDD/UDD specifically.)

- Anyone else who does not have DID/OSDD/UDD.

- Systems who do not have any knowledge on the relationships between their alters. (You may not be able to answer the required questions.)

I would really appreciate as many responses as possible, so I can have a big enough data set to draw some theories, so find the link below:

Why we celebrate Alters birthdays and why that's important to us:

Why do alters have birthdays?

Not all alters have birthdays, and those who do either formed with their birthdays or chose a date to represent their birthday. An alter's birthday might be an important date to them such as a trauma date, the date they were created or a date from their own memories. Regardless of whether the date was consciously chosen or came automatically as that alter formed it may be important to that alter to celebrate.

Why is it important, for us at least, to celebrate an alters birthday?

Birthdays in general are a day to celebrate that person. So for someone who works hard to help support and help the function of a traumatised system, this day is especially important to recognise the hard work they do to help the system in whatever way that may be.

Whilst also helping to recognise and appreciate the alter, it can also help further with internal relationships, communication and even help alters with specific roles (such as persecutors) to feel welcomed in the system.

Furthermore it can be a day for an alter to have entirely to them, to front and be able to express themselves in their own way. It could be a way for an alter to spend time with their loved ones and create positive memories in an alter who is severely traumatised.

There are many benefits to celebrating an alters birthday where possible and we actually recommend it! As a persecutor, it's helped me calm down and recognise that I'm wanted and needed in the system as much as everyone else. It's helped me to feel appreciated, and just that has helped me to open up in therapy, work towards healthier coping mechanisms, and communicate with my system in a healthier and safer way.

Sometimes blurry means there's too many near front to figure out who is in control

disabled people aren't overreacting when we get angry and defensive if you grab our aids without our permission. those are extensions of our bodies. if you've touched my white cane or my friend's oxygen tanks or someone's wheelchair or AAC device without our permission then you've touched or grabbed us without permission. it's not overreacting to defend yourself when part of your daily life involves people invading your personal space and grabbing you and your aids without caring what you want

Hell, I'd argue it's worse than that, personally.

Taking someone's white cane is taking their eyes.

Moving someone's oxygen tank away from them could literally deprive them of oxygen, it's comparable to attempting to choke someone.

Taking someone's AAC is literally stealing their voice

Moving someone's wheelchair is more like picking them up and putting them down somewhere else than merely touching them when they don't want it.

It's incredibly fucked up to take or touch someone's disability aid. They're literally an extension of our bodies, taking them is akin to removing that body part for someone who is unable to do something without that aid.

It's absolutely more invasive than unwanted touching, in my opinion.

This!! We've had people grab our wheelchair, lean on our wheelchair or attempt to push our wheelchair without our consent. It feels so invasive and offensive, like just don't do it?

both viewpoints use the same medicalist logic that causes real harm

Let me make this real simple. Trans people without dysphoria aren't doing anything wrong, aren't inserting themselves into a disabled community they fundamentally do not understand.

"non traumagenic system" is an oxymoron that describes a group of people bullying their way into a community of disabled people, who then cry ableism of all things after explicitly defining themselves as not disabled.

Does anyone else hate that DID/OSDD is glorified so much online? Like I hate this condition. I want my own life and my own body. I despise being part of a system. Seeing someone else in the mirror is terrifying and upsetting. Our body looks nothing like me and I hate it. And don't even get me started on all the PTSD and DPDR symptoms.

Like yes please show the positives to being a system and please show that you CAN be happy and function well as a system. I just feel like it's made out to be a mockery a lot online and it really infuriates me.

The host has been struggling with a lot of PTSD symptoms lately so I've been fronting almost constantly. And our body hurts so much due to the chronic illness we have and I just don't wanna deal with this. Its making me snappy and annoyed.

We recommend this channel to systems and to professionals wanting to learn more in depth detail about not only DID, but communication with the system, alter roles and internal relationships.

Whilst I know we don't have a lot of resources, these are the places in which we have learned about DID. With both MultiplicityAndMe and DID-research sourcing their information from research papers, the DSM and ICD as well as professionals who specialise in trauma and dissociation, these are the sources of information we trust and recommend the most.

The NHS website and Mind do have information on dissociative disorders. Although this is just basic information and not in depth, it's still a good read if you need a basic definition of dissociative disorders and their symptoms.

This is another reminder to not treat your persecutors like shit. No one can heal locked up and isolated. Give them the room to just exist and help guide them to better coping mechanisms. Show them some kindness. I'm tired of persecutors always being hated and feared and deemed evil. They're traumatized. Give them the space they need to learn and grow. Putting a plant in a smaller container away from water, light, and any interaction is gonna fucking kill it. But if you water it, put it in the sun, give it more room, talk to it, it'll grow and flourish. Give. Them. Room. To. HEAL.
