Lips pull into a frown at the young lad’s initial response. It was most improper to stare and prod a superior without so much a word to explain.
"…Ignorance has its disadvantages when one does not know their place, especially.”
Lashes lower and his vision of the boy narrows. The prince could not truly empathize with those not noble born. He seized the young man’s wrist, then as slow as one would inhale, released it, ascertaining the boy of the reality he was in.
”Speak.” He said.
The expression change and the wrist seized causes him to pull back slightly, but he isn't at fault here he is curious after all. Let alone he's not pulling a prank but it seems he's landed himself into trouble already.
And he's been granted the permission to speak, this man has to be even worse than his father.
"U-Uh, sorry ...so you really are one? do you slay dragons and stuff?"
He doesn't know what else to say to the prince so he might as well introduce himself too.
"My name's Johnny, it's a pleasure to meet ya Prince-- Tet..Tett--" its apparent he struggles to pronounce the name.
He’s not the most nostalgic of people ─ hasn’t been for a while now, in any case, content as he is with the present. Some years back, sure, he’d dwelt on the past and what once was frequently, even obsessively so, dim as the future had seemed at the time, but now— No, he’s happy where he is right now.
Mostly.
Not that he’d ever like to cave to old habits and begin moping, despairing over the matter, yet it remains true that Seamus misses the (so-called) old days a bit. Johnny’s earlier childhood, specifically. He might not be the most nostalgic, although - fortunately or unfortunately - the same can’t quite be said as regards to his sentimentalism: because the thing is, really, maybe it’s just him, but the two of don’t seem to spend as much time with one another as used to be the case. Now, that he has his interests beyond the home and the family is something his father’s willing to appreciate, much as he’d similarly found himself at that age; certainly, he hasn’t even an inkling of the notion that time spent with friends should be limited for the sake of time spent with family.
But - God - it can’t be that embarrassing to be seen to be out and about, spending time with one’s father, surely—?
Something of a plan is concocted, then. Nothing elaborate, because it doesn’t need to be: he only needs to sort-of force his son to participate in a casual afternoon of bonding, after all. He allows himself a pre-emptively triumphant grin whilst away from the other’s gaze as he ambles from room to room, looking for his soon-to-be captive ─ and when his search bears fruits, he has to bite his lip gently to rid of the smile before he pokes his head around the door. A short, sharp whistle is purposed with attracting his attention—
"C—ome on, groc’ry run. Yer ma’s otherwise preoccupied, so it’s our chore t’day t’ get the food fe’ our plates.”
A few shakes of a blank scrap of paper hopefully seal this flawless pretence: it’s intended to be a shopping list of sorts, but here’s to Johnny being inattentive enough to realise there isn’t anything written on the slip.
And he's not the type to be up running around, doing chores when there's fun to be had. Of course he had to earn his keep of living in the house, let alone if he had to do the same thing with his father--and in public too. Why exactly did it have to be done so early in the morning too? The sun wasn't even up yet! although there was something... magical about the blueness that took up the space where there was supposed to be light.
Six am was it? as Johnny here stirs a bit in his bed, rolling to the other side of the bed still asleep, though an eye opens to the source of where the noise penetrates his concentration of sleep. A blurry image flickers a bit as the youngster attempts to wake up, he hears his father and the paper loud and clear. But anything to get up and stretch is in vain, thus he remains laying there. A hand to Seamus for trying to get his son's attention credit's due where credit's due, unfortunately for him Johnny isn't getting up anytime soon.
"T..Ten more minutes.."

He stomps one of his feet on the dirt road, letting out a groan as he flips the wolf head part of the hide up. “Are ya serious?! I practiced enough to be scary an’ it would’ve been gold if ya reacted better.” ((dad pls ur killing me here))
Truth is that he revels a bit in having avoided yet another practical joke at his expense, and - try though he might to suppress it - even instinctively indulges in a smug little grin upon being greeted by his son’s irritated disappointment. Not that any sense of competition between the two over this sort of thing has developed over the years (largely because Johnny more often than not succeeded in these attempts, he wouldn’t care to admit), but to celebrate a victory, no matter how minor, is natural enough.
Apparently so amused is the redhead, in fact, that he takes to casually resting on his crutch, letting his shoulders slump a bit as he regards the unsuccessful scarer. It’s with no hint of maliciousness that he subsequently has a little dig at the other, that lazy smile still on his face: it might not be appreciated as humorous chatter, but it should at least serve as evidence that he does have a sense of humour, contrary to a certain someone’s belief.
"Ye sure ye practised enough…? I’ve got t’ admire yer bein’ determined ‘nd all, I suppose, but… Well, just keep at it, and maybe ye’ll have more success next time. At least you tried, eh?"
The complete reaction really gets his goat, he takes to twisting the heel of his right shoe into the dirt. He's sure of it, every dawn and to its setting he's come out here and done the same thing over and over. A heaved sigh, a half-glare to met his father's smug expression.
"No I just got here," a growl from the boy's stomach betrays his words. A pause of silence before continuing his words. "Okay, maybe I was an' I skipped lunch," a groan, "Ughhh, ya don't know anything! I'll show ya! one day I'm gonna scare yer pants right off!!" the hot breath blows out of him. He proceeds to stick his tongue out giving his father a raspberry turning to run off until he's well out of sight.
Lenny giggles at the contact with his hair, it already was a mess, and with Johnny ruffling it, obviously it got ‘worse’, now for sure he is going to make fun of him.
Something that the redhead always found fun about his friend is those dramatic movements to show he is doing a certain activity, just like now in which he shows he is thinking. At his question about eating all the vegetables, he nods happily, eating well and a lot was always good for his health.
As Johnny’s hand goes behind his ear, he can’t help but wonder what caught his attention.
"Ah, what?" Oh, it was a candy! How? It was a trick? Anyway, the little boy laughs.
"Wow~! Now I’m not only a pumpkin, now I’m a tree now! Do ya want a candy?" Lenny asked as both of his hands ‘search’ for more candies inside his hair.
"Oh, I think I see more!"
Once more he reaches behind Lenny's head, pulling out two more making a total of three candies in his hand. "Yer a pumpkin candy tree head, haha! .... just make sure yer mom don't see 'em okay? It's a secret." he puts a finger to his lips, a mischievous smile has formed. He then crouches down a bit more so Lenny can ride on his back .
"Get on we're gonna go into the forest today."
"Hello, Johnny" The woman greeted him with warm smile. "What'ya two are going to do today? I hope this won't be anything dangerous." She shook her index finger with warning, yet giving him a joyous wink in the same moment ruined the whole effect.
"Aunt Kathleen!" He greets back with a grin of his own, with a hint of mischief mixed in. "I dunno yet, maybe we'll go catch frogs or somethin' like that." A shrug, he looks back at his aunt as she wags a finger at him. "I promise ya it won't be anything too dangerous!"

The woman mused quietly as she carefully planned out her plans for tomorrow. She knew she had to make dinner, tend to the garden and clean the house. As she sat in the kitchen, accompanied with a candle to light the paper. Her silence was interupted upon hearing a knock at the door.
Diana sat up, taking her skirt into her hand and scurried to the doorway, and opened it. Johnny had went over to his friend’s house, Will. He informed her that Max, Lenny and Tom were also to be there. As they played ball.
She opened the doorway, and there stood Johnny.
"Welcome home, dear!"
Returning home from the game he and his friends had played ended abruptly as the former took a full-faced hit from the ball they were playing with resulting in a few minor injuries, a tiny nose bleed with a tad bit of swelling nothing major considering he was still alive and breathing. Being sent home, from Will's mother and did he arrive at his own and knocking soon to be greeted by his mother. A hand covers Johnny's nose as he waves at his mother returning the greeting with a stuffy 'Hi mom!'
He fully enters the house, giving her a one-armed hug, the other still on his face. He knew his mother was bound for asking him what happened and why he had his hand on his face like that.

Johnny, Johnny! Today's halloween!
"Heheh, yeah it is!!"
He’s not altogether keen on exercising authority as a father, truthfully: raising his voice is by no means a pastime of his, and more often than not are his attempts at discipline mostly laughed off by the lad, as seen here. Hell, exasperation threatens to have him give up already ─ understandably is he irked by his son’s show of yawning, his feigned cluelessness, but— Well, just listen to him, as devoid of any sort of apology as his tone is. Like many cases before, he senses this to be a lost cause.
Still, he can damn well try to dish out appropriate consequence, despite chances that the outcome of this confrontation is already set in stone.
"Oh, ‘least one of us thinks this is funny ─ notice how it’s he who hasn’t got egg in his shoe, though.” (A quick sigh is breathed through his nostrils as he lowers the shoe. Lord give him strength.) “Look, I know ye fancy yerself to be some sort of funny-man or whatever, but don’t do yer business in me shoes.” His error here is phrasing his return as he does, of course, but this is sadly something he fails to notice at the time.
A slight motion of itching his own cheek is had, his attention wanders down to the floor then back to his father. The small grin has disappeared as his hand returns to his own side. As he continues to confront him he feels a little 'remorse' for the action it was all just fun and games and his father really needed to adopt a sense of humor. A 'sorry' is had, all he was just having a little bit of fun.
"Geez dad, I'm sorry alright, ya need to get yourself a sense of humor ya're killing me here." He'd laugh at the last part but it's best not to since his father can only handle so much within a day. He takes the unscathed egg from him, "If I wanted to my business I'd go over yonder to the outhouse and do it, for the sake of bein' sanitary." a pause, "Gimme your shoe I'll...I'll wash it okay?"

"Huh…? Oh, this?" He looks down at his hand and smiles softly. "Yeah, it’s fine. The ground here is hard, Johnny…. and… Fall, huh….?" He closed his eyes for a moment in thought, and nodded slightly. He had no idea what that was. "Johnny," he repeats the other’s name again, very quietly, and nods again. He would remember this one! This wolf-man! As he was about to ask another question, Johnny asked one of his own.
He looked at his own tan shoulders and smirked—although that curl of his lips was rather forlorn. ”It’s a bit obvious, isn’t it?” He shrugs. ”Yeah. I’ve lived on an island all my life. Nothing but palm trees, seabirds, and sand….” He pats the dirt beside him. ”I’ve not seen …. sand this hard before—or with all this leafy stuff on it. This place is pretty, though! And… I found this on my adventure through the forest,” he looks behind him to the woods and pulls out an apple from one of the pockets in his shorts. Its bright red waxy skin was the epitome of fall and the color just seemed to entrance him as he stared at it. ”What is this, Johnny? It’s so bright! Like the sun reflecting off the ocean water when it sets!”
With curiosity he watches the other kid, his appearance is what sets him apart from the regular folks around here, he can't help not to stare instead he turns his gaze to the fruit in his hand. "An...island huh? I've never seen one or been to one. I wonder what their like...-- Oh? that's an apple, it's a fruit you eat and it gives you nutrients or somethin' like that."
"Say...yer name is Rax right? Just makin' sure." it takes him to say it over a few times to make sure he's pronounced it right, he can barely keep up with the kid's questions as he asks his own. "Welcome to America-- that's what this place is called."
thatonewolfboy replied to your post:
A nervous ‘uh oh’ comes from his mouth as he hears his full name called, no doubt his father sounds angry after pulling such a prank, he rounds the corner with a “Present” his grin has been wiped off his face with a look of seriousness.
Needless to say, the victim of the prank himself is far from amused. Oh, he can tolerate some of the boy’s hijinks, even give credit to him on occasion for the ingenuity of some of them, but he apparently has yet to appreciate there exists a line, and that to cross it would mean some sort of appropriate consequence.
"…I’m gonna assume here some ‘phantom chicken’ didn’t think my shoes a good place to lay her eggs, and that - actu’lly - somebody put them there. Now, ye want to own up to anything, or will I have to explain to yer Ma that her joker son’s wasted some perfectly good eggs?"
(He shakes the shoe a bit as if to further his point, the egg rattling around inside rather pathetically in response.)
It takes a good solid minute for him to listen to the lecture without a laughter fit, the prank that was pulled was hilarious in the eye of the spectator rather than the victim here. As his father goes on and on a yawn is had, as well as a back of the head scratch before speaking. His eyes watch the egg in the shoe move about as dad here shakes it around.
"Maybe it was, do ya know how restless spirits from the other side are? an' maybe it believed in itself enough to lay something solid ... they weren' totally wasted I mean that one is still fine."
