All right. I have seen these posts at least three times within the last couple of days. Honestly, it is concerning to me, and I just want to leave this here as a friendly reminder.

We love our geckos. Many people already know this. We want the best for them always. Sometimes we think they want a friend. They don't.

Leopard Geckos are solitary animals. Their brains lack the ability to feel love or affection. They do not cuddle, they do not share, they do not love one another. They mate out of instinct, they 'cuddle' for dominance, and they do NOT share resources.

Now, I am sure there are going to be those who say 'Well, so and so had theirs together and they were fine." Well, fine and dandy for so and so, but let me just mention they were lucky. These guys are more than capable to fight to the death. So, why would you want to risk it? These guys do not need company. I promise.

I am not new to Tumblr, I have used this wonderful site since about 2011, however my previous blogs have always been filled with random nonsense that never made sense to any one, but me. This time, though, this time, I am on a mission.

All too often I see people purchasing pets. Awesome, right? The world always needs more cute, and sometimes, people need those cute things in their life. While most of the time, I would say yes, there are times that I have to say no. Not only no, but Hell No!

You see, that cute thing that’s bought has the potential to need some serious care. It doesn’t matter if it is reptilian, amphibian, or even furry as hell. These animals need proper care. They can’t tell you: Hey, I am not happy. This is what I need. No, this is for you to know as a responsible pet owner.

Let me put it this way, if you get an animal, and start getting into their care, and you think out of no where. ‘This animal is taking up too much of my time.’ Chances are you didn’t research it enough. Someone who is responsible when owning a pet will always check out the proper care, husbandry, and dietary needs of their animal. If you don’t have the time for your potential pet, DO NOT purchase it.

Also, I cannot tell you how many times I have scrolled through Instagram and I have seen these poor animals who are set up in all the wrong things. This goes for reptiles, and small mammals especially. When you try to offer a simple amount of help, you get attacked. That’s not cool. So, here I am, on my little mission. I am going to try to set things right.

I want to help as many animals as possible in my lifetime, and sometimes I know it starts with a little post. So, people of the interwebs, let’s help these lives that don’t have a voice. Let’s teach proper husbandry, and animal care, the right way. Education, knowledge, and sincerity are what work.
