Kitty wasn’t sure when she had fallen asleep, only realizing she had when she found herself waking up in Ryder’s arms. The first thing she noticed was that his shirtless chest was pressed against her, the heat from his body making her feel a little flushed. It was comfortable though and she felt well rested, like she had slept through the night without interruptions for once. She couldn’t remember the last time that had happened during a storm but now she knew what she was going to do every time it started to rain. But that was all before she noticed the second thing, which was that his chest wasn’t the only thing pressed up against her. Without a thought for the comfort she was feeling before the girl jumped out of the bed, turning back to smack him on the shoulder. “Seriously Ryder? This is what I wake up to?”

Ryder sighed, waking up from a Kitty shouting and hitting him. 

“Good morning to you too, Kitty.” It was a casual morning boner, one of the many he had almost every morning, he just usually woke up alone so no one commented it. “Is it a first time ever you wake up next to a guy? It’s morning, what do you want? That’s why I’m taking shower in the morning. It’ll go after a while and it has nothing with you, so I’d appreciate if you stop shouting.” He felt really awkward, but it was all he could do.

Kitty didn’t say anything in response to Ryder’s few words, unsure if he had even said anything out loud. In that weird half dreamlike state she couldn’t be sure what he had said, but a small smile crossed her lips regardless. The urge to roll over and curl into him was something she almost couldn’t resist but she forced herself to, biting down hard on her lip as she laid there. She was still pressed up against him, comfortable in the warmth of his body next to hers. The rain had slowed down to a drizzle with the occasional flash of lightning and she felt herself drifting off, not even having time to realize how odd that was since only a little while before she had felt like sleep would be escaping her for the rest of the night.

It was few hours later when Ryder woke up. It was normal for him - to wake up multiple times during the night even from the slightest sound and this time sound was Kitty turning a little to lie on his chest. There was a heavy storm outside that made sleeping really hard so Ryder laid there with his eyes open, his right hand was hugging Kitty while his left hand was playing with her hair. She slept so innocently than it was only half an hour when Ryder managed to fall back in sleep. 

They were both sleeping innocently for the rest of the night. When Ryder finally woke up, he was hugging her from behind with his hands under her top and his head relaxing on her shoulder, Kitty was fitting was too good and her butt was pressed into him. With the combination of this and morning, Ryder felt something in his lower part which he hoped Kitty would not kill him for when she wakes up.

Kitty rolled her eyes minimally as he said he wasn’t going to kick her out, grateful for it. And although she was intrigued by his statement after that she felt like she already knew the answer, which probably spoke more to her ego than it did anything else. She made a small noise of agreement as he talked about why he had seen the movie so many times, pausing for just a moment before she replied to him. “I don’t care, I don’t wanna keep you up,” she said, unable to keep from yawning after Ryder did. It felt like she wasn’t going to get much sleep regardless of whether or not he did but she knew how crabby she got from lack of sleep and didn’t want the same from him. The blonde almost thought she was losing it because she had to be imagining his lips on her skin and the way she seemed to fit perfectly into his arms, unconsciously moving closer to curl into him. She might have drifted off, she wasn’t sure, but the movement of his hand on her felt like he was tracing heat across her skin and she let out a slow breath, unsure if she should make him aware that she was awake. Instead the girl ended up doing nothing, waiting to see if he was just readjusting his own position although the repetition of his movements made it seem like that wasn’t the case.

Ryder was glad Kitty agreed not to keeping him up, allowing him to do whatever he wants instead. Still it was hard to fall asleep fast, knowing he could spend time with her in normal circumstances and her body was so warm and soft lying right there next to him. While Kitty was sleeping without moving and making any noise, Ryder didn’t want to use the situation, feeling like he’s harassing her, he for sure was physically attracted to her, to her toned body that smelt so nice but she didn’t actually gave him a consent to touch her so it just felt wrong. Putting his arm away from her waist, Ryder just put it around her shoulders, not even touching it and adjusted him on a better position, turning on his back. “Good night pretty girl” Ryder whispered, being sure she doesn’t hear him. How did he even put himself in the situation where he was laying only in his tights in the bed next to the very attractive girl with a hot body and still not having anything with her other than feeling growing attraction which started from the first time he saw her in that bikini on the beach that Ryder wasn’t even sure was mutual.

Kitty’s breath caught in her throat as she felt his hand wrap around hers, wondering at first if they had just happened to brush against each other until he took it more firmly. For a moment she considered freeing hers but instead she intertwined her fingers with his, squeezing her eyes shut tightly as she heard an echo of thunder from the lingering storm. “How considerate of you,” she said, with just a hint of here usual sarcasm. She was half-serious about it though, glad that Ryder was willing to just even be there. Vulnerability wasn’t something the girl did well and it always terrified her, but he made it feel like the most natural thing in the world. Sighing a little as she readjusted herself to get more comfortable she grinned a little, shaking her head the tiniest bit. “Really? I mean, they’re good but I don’t know if they’re that good. Mine was the same as usual, full of doing nothing on the beach just the way I like it.” Kitty almost forgot about her hand in his, tugging it a little closer to her body out of habit.

“It would be rude to kick you out. And maybe I even like spending time with you, that’s for me to know and for you to find out.” Ryder smiled, laying there with his eyes closed, he knew Kitty would be pissed off not knowing something cause she was a controller and preferred to have all information on her hand. “It’s not like I’m the biggest fan of this film, back then when I was 12 dad refused to buy any DVD-s so I couldn’t afford much from my pocket moneys and little money from work I’ve did, so all films I owned were watched at least 10times.” Kitty tugged his hand closer to her body and Ryder moved closer out of habit. “Do you wanna talk or do you wanna sleep? I need to wake up early tomorrow to go surfing”, saying this, Ryder yawned. His eyes were closed and he was ready to go to sleep, but waited for Kitty to answer. It was hot enough not to sleep under the blanket, so Ryder covered Kitty in case she’d need it and put a hot kiss on her cheek “Good night, Wilde”. Not putting eyes away from her, Ryder wanted to make sure she managed to sleep first, since it was the problem in the first place. After half an hour, Ryder noticed she was sleeping peacefully, but apparently sleeping without blanket or just anything covering the body wasn’t quite comfortable for him, so he crawled under the blanket hugging Kitty from behind. Her skin was really smooth and nice to touch, and there was something that attracted him to this girl, making him want to touch her, so his hand was going up and down her waist slowly making sure she won’t wake up from this.

Kitty’s lips pressed together as she took in the sight of Ryder lying in his bed, feeling only slightly guilty for interrupting him like this. The fact that the first thing he asked was to make sure she was okay didn’t escape her notice and a small smile flitted across her lips for just a moment. “Yeah, I’m good. I just…I can never sleep during storms.” She half-mumbled the last part of it as she lifted up the blankets on the other side of the bed, sliding in without even asking for permission. She had no idea what he would do but the blonde hoped he wouldn’t totally freak out and kick her out of his room or something, knowing it would be an entirely sleepless night if that was the case. He was shirtless too, that much she had taken note of but she stayed on her side facing away from him, her eyes fixed on the wall of his room. “How was your movie?”

He could bet it was embarrassing for her to admit she’s scared of something and that fearless Kitty Wilde actually needs someone’s help. He was just about to comment her words when Kitty caught him off guard, sliding under the blanket; Ryder wasn’t sure how to react but wanted support her, making her feel safe despite the storm. His hand reached out for Kitty’s hand, grabbing it firmly like saying he’s there with her and for her. “The bed is big enough, so you can stay here. I mean we already shared the bed and you were nice enough not to kick me on the floor that time, so I guess I have to return the favor.” In fact, he hadn’t finished the movie cause Kitty interrupted him, but he wasn’t about to tell her about it. “It was good for the 10th time i was watching it, how was your day?”

Letting out a sigh Kitty rolled over in bed, trying to take her mind off of anything other than the fact that she couldn’t fall asleep. She knew it was on account of the storm – ever since she was a little girl she hadn’t been able to sleep through them. At least not without someone else’s arms around her, whether it was her parents when she was little or a boyfriend as she got older. But clearly neither one of those were options at the moment and she sat up in bed, resigned to the fact that she wasn’t going to get any sleep that night as the rain continued to pound down on the window behind her. Shaking her head Kitty slid out of her bed, too fed up at this point to consider the ramifications of what she was doing until she pushed Ryder’s door open quietly, biting down hard on her lip as she walked to the other side of the queen sized bed. “Ry? Are you still awake?”

At first, Ryder was sure that Kitty would come to watch “scream” with him, despite all her vicious words they really started going on well and spent most of the time together; Ryder also thought she would come just to prove she’s not chicken to watch horrors in a summer house surrounded by nothing but sand and water. However, Kitty didn’t show up, so Ryder switched from the sofa in the common room to his bed, he took off the T-shirt and shorts staying in his underwear and took his ipad instead of laptop, turning headphones on to finish watching movies quietly. He had no idea Kitty was in the room until he noticed a light from the hall reflecting at the wall. He frowns, looking at her, why was she there in his room in the middle of the night, did something happen. Putting a white blanket to cover his underwear and legs, he asked “Yeah, what’s wrong? You’re okay?”

KITTY: I'm gonna jump in the shower and then I'll see if I wanna join you.

RYDER: Well it's easy to judge with a body like yours:p

RYDER: of course you wanna join me, dude come on, it's "scream"!

RYDER: Why? I don't think it's fair to ban someone from being naked or bikini-s just because of their looks.

KITTY: It's supposed to rain all weekend and I am NOT going to be happy if that means we're stuck in the house.

RYDER: If it's gonna be a rain, I'll just stuck at home with pizza and movies.

Kitty couldn’t help but laugh at his words, although usually she would have taken offense to it, regardless of the fact that it was the truth. She stopped abruptly as he kept talking though, glancing over at him as he mentioned his family. It was a situation she didn’t know a lot about, which wasn’t surprising considering this was one of the only times she could remember having an actual conversation with him. She opened her mouth to ask more about it before deciding that wouldn’t be the best idea, instead clearing her throat as he leaned in closer to her. The goosebumps that broke out over her skin was from the cool breeze that was blowing around them, not from his hands on her body – at least, that’s what she was telling herself. “Oh yeah? Is that a challenge, Lynn? Because you should know better than anyone that I never back down from one.”

“What if it is, scared of losing?” Realisation he was flirting with Kitty hit him suddenly, making him feel uncomfortable for a second. Ryder raised from the sand, looking at Kitty “As much as I do enjoy the view, I think we should come back. Air becomes cooler and I’m pretty hungry.” It was truth, he was craving for a good home-made burger and wanted to cool down the thoughts in his head. “Sure I won’t go without you, but I thought you can use some relaxation at home too, like warm bath or something. I’ll ever share the food with you.”

“I’m glad someone’s taking notice, at least. Although now that I’m Captain I’m definitely going to make sure that changes.” Kitty was a little surprised to hear it, if she was being honest. Sure she saw Ryder in Glee Club and they each spent a fair amount of time either on the football field or the sidelines, but for some reason it felt good to know that he had taken notice of her. Up until now she had thought he couldn’t stand her and wasn’t going to contradict that fact, but being forced to spend time together just the two of them was showing her something she hadn’t expected. “Well you guys are winning more than you did before she got here, so clearly she’s doing her job right.” Her eyes widened at his words and she scoffed out a laugh, shaking her head as she flicked some water at him. “What? I never said anything about that. If anything you’re gonna be the one that finds it hard to resist me, mark my words.” Was this really happening? Was she flirting with Ryder Lynn, of all people? Kitty wouldn’t let herself think about it too much, instead focusing on the warmth of his body next to hers.

“I’m sure lots of people did, don’t underestimate yourself... Can’t believe I just said it to the most self-loving person I know.” It was true, Kitty loved herself and was self-confident so much that sometimes she seemed too cocky. “Yeah she’s great about tactics and training and she treats us like her kids, really try to get us and help with whatever we’re struggling. It’s awful to say it since he’s the only parent I have, but I’d totally change her to my dad.” Ryder closed his mouth immediately, not being sure why he told her this, he usually avoided talking about mom and didn’t mention family situation, but for some reason he felt safe talking to her, like it was some new person, not Kitty Wilde he knew would use it against him. Her flirty words totally brought him back from sad conversations and he raised an eyebrow “Are you really sure about it?”. Being a sportsman, Ryder was really competitive and Kitty played on it too well; putting his palms on her shoulders, Ryder leaned on to whisper in her ear smiling “Bring it on, I’m sure I’ll resist, Kitty”.
